Alright to start the ordering process is very difficult but here is the skinny as I understand. You come in and sit down. Check the menu and go to the spot that says order. Order all your food, then sit back down. They bring it to you, they give you a number just like Panera use to. Drinks are on the honor system. They have some in soda coolers and coffee is ordered where food is ordered or where coffee sign is. It is confusing but the staff will explain it if you need. Service was good, curious, and they have a very friendly atmosphere. The meal was real good, just a good home cooked breakfast. read more

I did not eat there today, matter of fact it has been a while, but I will tell you this place has never disappointed me. Likely I have tried everything on the menu and nothing is ever below par. If you are in their neighborhood and can't find anything, go! This is from the cuff but when I saw it on Yelp I had to chime in. Not 5 stars but very close in my book. This was a really cute find, the inside looked kind of like an old train station. I had the veggie panini and loved it - they didn't skimp on the avocado! The value here can't be beat. I got the Greek omelet which was a three egg omelet with feta cheese and assorted veggies that came with potatoes and buttered toast. And the price for all of that was under $6. The food was delicious and filled me up for a while. I loved their potatoes especially. The omelet was fresh and tasty. The only reason I'm giving this place 4 instead of five stars is because service was slow. It took about half an hour to make an omelet. read more

Stopped here on a Monday morning to get takeout breakfast to bring back to our hotel. We are staying at the Radisson nearby. I was greeted immediately and the restaurant is open and clean. I was guided through the menu and was happy to find all of my family's favorites. I ordered a breakfast sandwich, French toast with eggs and sausage, cheese grits, hash browns, and a pancake. The food was done quick and packaged up for me to carry out. They included everything I needed to eat in the room AND the price was right! We were pleasantly surprised back at the room. What a nice surprise in downtown Baltimore! We were staying at a nearby hotel for a concert and used Yelp to find a nice place to eat for lunch. We stumbled across the reviews for his place and decided to give it a shot. We were not disappointed! It's in a beautiful building and it has a lot of seating for a counter service place. Our only real issue was the menu had so many options that we had trouble deciding what we wanted to order. I decided on the chipotle chicken cheesesteak with fries, and my wife had the mushroom and swiss cheesesteak with fries. My cheesesteak was very good, though the bread started to rip, which happens with some cheesesteaks due to all the juices and such, but it is a bit aggravating to me. I have been many places where the bread doesn't tear when I eat, causing all the filling to fall out. I won't hold it against them though as I understand it is hard to prevent this, i just hate when it happens. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her mushroom and swiss cheesesteak, which I tasted and it was definitely very good as well. I also liked the fact that they had sauce on the table for the food, because I love hot sauce, especially on a cheesesteak! Love this place! It's such a great go-to breakfast spot in the downtown Baltimore area. After moving into this beautiful old bank building, the small humble coffee shop was gotten a major make-over to now include high ceilings and gorgeous fixtures while still maintaining its local feel. The menu is diverse and delicious. The pancakes are certainly a favorite but you also can't go wrong with the breakfast burrito, omelets, and egg platters as well. Another personal favorite is the egg white combo with turkey bacon - healthy and extremely tasty for when you're feeling like starting the morning off on the right foot. Walk up to the counter on the left to order your food then if you decide to dine-in you'll take a number for your food to be delivered to your table. I can't explain it exactly, but there's just this special feeling I get when I sit down with a cup of coffee in a cozy mug looking around at people bustling around me while I wait patiently for my hot breakfast. What a hidden gem! This restaurant is inside Central Savings Bank. It's a spacious and open place to enjoy breakfast while watching the traffic. I got the egg & pancake breakfast: 2 over easy eggs, cooked perfectly 2 fluffy pancakes 3 pieces of turkey bacon (tastes identical to the ones sold in Costco) All this for $8!!! I was stuffed. Everything was so delicious & service was very friendly. It took about 15-20 mins for the food to be served, so don't go if you're in a rush. I've had the Chicken Caesar Wrap, Buffalo Chicken Wrap and Chicken Pita. All are decent but a bit overpriced for what you get. Not a bad spot if you want to support a local business downtown. Be mindful of going during peak hours it can get busy. I live in the county and went for lunch, completely forgot a mask. I'm vaxed and in the county you don't need one. It was an honest mistake so when they told me I had to leave I sincerely apologized and asked if I could have a mask to use so I could order. You would have thought I was trying to rob the place with the reaction I got. I then tried to sit at a table to tell my friend my order so they could get it for me and the whole staff rushed to the counter and were extremely rude about the situation.. Mind you the entire restaurant was FILLED, not socially distanced with people not wearing masks at every single table. I went outside to wait for friend to order and watched a man go in about 5 minutes after me with the mask around his wrist, he had one and wasn't wearing it and according to my friend (still inside), did not receive the same reaction I did. Unfortunately, due to this I won't be returning. There are plenty of restaurants downtown who treat their customers with respect. I RARELY post poor reviews, especially during COVID times but this situation was just ridiculous. If you're going to require masks, I will respect your decision but you need to be willing to provide them if someone doesn't have one. Just think...grilled chicken, melting cheddar cheese, tomato and their version of "chipotle mayo" on grilled Italian bread! The chips that I chose? Meh.... but it didn't matter to me because I was focused on the panini :) It's a small café that's in the heart of downtown and they also have a breakfast menu. Another great thing of this café is the location because you can grab a cup of coffee at Caribou next door and walk right next door to this cafe to order one of their breakfast or lunch items. I have frequently ordered from The Charles Street location in Baltimore and I will Say one thing good First, the food here is wonderful. That being said If you can get your order made correctly. I have had my order messed up by this place EVERY SINGLE TIME 15+ times (We order by group from work) except for 1 time when I got a bag of chips and a pre-made pasta salad. I don't believe they offered to refund at all just wanted to give me something else or fix it. Even one time I got RAW CHICKEN. They don't deserve your money go somewhere else. Overpriced. Also was treated rudely when I did not know where to pick up my carry out I did not pre order. Pickup should be easier if you order on-line or not. I'm in town for a conference and came here one day for breakfast and another for lunch. I have a feeling I'll be back again before I fly out! Conveniently located near several hotels in a converted bank building (be warned the entrance doors are heavy - we think it was to deter back robbers back in the day!). Breakfast is great! So many options for both food and coffee and all delicious. I had an iced cold brew coffee and the cheese/bacon grits with an egg on top (cooked to order). My husband had a black coffee and egg sandwich with scrapple. We both loved our meals and coffee, and he was happy to find scrapple here! I went back for a light lunch a day later - Berry workout smoothie and broccoli salad. This is one of the best smoothies I've had in a long time - not too sweet but full of flavor. They don't know anything about customer service. They nickle and dime you over the simplest requests. An additional $2 just to get a few chocolate chips sprinkled in the pancakes? Real restaurants do that for free! All associates (including the owner David, who I've personally interacted with more than once) have poor attitudes. As a repeat customer I just simply didn't feel valued or treated accordingly. Food is decent but they'll never get another dime from me. read more

Chipped beef was good, I scarfed it down. Reminds me of my grandma's! I was hoping that they sausage gravy would have been on the menu, but no such luck. I asked them not to put the gravy on the hash as I wanted to see what it tasted like plain. Not much to write home about. I think I knocked the star off was because of how confusing it is when you walk in. You order when you walk in, but you don't order your drink. Between the food and the drink is the cashier, but you don't get a ticket for the cashier, so I didn't know what to do, it was awkward. What a beautiful discovery for breakfast! Parking was easy, right in front of the building....the old headquarters of the Baltimore Central Savings Bank. We had the D&D breakfast platter and the strawberries and waffle. Food was perfectly cooked with large portions. I've only been here once and got the sausage and gravy special as well as a coffee. I can't comment on the other choices unfortunately. Home fries were well...fried. crispy and browned on the edges, well seasoned. (My pet peeve is under seasoned potatoes). Sausage, gravy, and biscuits were above average, but nothing super special. David and Dad's really can do it all and at a good price. They mess up on our delivery orders from time to time which requires me to walk across the street and have the changes fixed but it's nothing serious. I haven't tried anything that wasn't tasty. For breakfast their breakfast sandwich on a biscuit is soo good. And huge! The shrimp salad is amazing on a salad or a sandwich. The paninis are bomb! Wraps are tasty. I ordered a turkey bacon BLT for breakfast and a tuna salad for lunch. I was basically food poison. The cook must cross contaminate when cook my turkey bacon because I cannot and don't eat pork or the tuna salad was not stored well. I was food poisoning, was so sick after eating my lunch.
