Called the gas company, who identified a large leak and shut off the gas/tagged the unit for repair. Upon calling Evercool back to request repair, they were very defensive and unprofessional, and we finally said forget it, we'll call someone else, whereupon they hung up on us...after a grand total of 3 minutes. It also turns out they made several errors with the install and we had to hire another hvac company to fix it. Yes, it was under warranty. No, we did not trust them to do it right. 100% do not recommend.

We were pleasantly surprised at how small the hole was that they made in the drywall. Small enough that we can fix it ourselves. Tyson came out and quickly determined the leak was not coming from the joint but rather from somewhere above. So now there was a mystery leak hidden behind the walls somewhere between the third floor and the basement. He suspected the pipe to be behind and certain section of wall on the middle floor and thought maybe a nail could be the culprit and checked to see if we had anything nailed to the wall, we didn't. So he had to pick a section of wall to cut behind to check and on his first try found the pipe and showed me exactly where the previous owner put a nail through the toilet drain pipe. I was originally concerned we'd have to open many walls and ceilings to find it and I'm still wondering how he found it so quickly. He also answered a ton of my questions.
