Sudden unprofessional behavior and poor communication from provider Christian Luafau…read more I've seen provider Christian Luafau at Precision Rheumatology twice before without any problems, which is why my most recent visit shocked me. This time, the interaction was extremely unprofessional. I was never informed that my lab orders were sent electronically. Previously, I was given paper forms and told I could take them to any Quest. No one called, emailed, or communicated that the process had changed. When I tried to explain this, Christian Luafau repeatedly cut me off and labeled me "hostile," even though I was just trying to understand what happened. Instead of helping resolve the miscommunication, he abruptly switched me to another provider with a much longer wait time and said, "Now you'll have to wait longer." I left the appointment with no refill plan, no guidance, and the feeling that I was being punished rather than supported as a patient. Patients with chronic conditions deserve respect, patience, and clear communication. The way this situation was handled caused unnecessary stress and left me without timely care. I hope the clinic reviews how this encounter was handled to prevent this from happening to others.

From the moment Dr. June Sadiq walked into the room, I could tell he was genuine, compassionate, and truly cared about his patients. He took the time to listen, answered every question thoroughly, and made my grandma feel comfortable during a stressful time. What stood out most was that he never made us feel rushed. He was attentive, thoughtful, and kept checking on her throughout her visit, which meant so much to our family. When I asked if he could speak with my daughter over the phone to explain my grandma's test results, he didn't hesitate. He patiently went over everything, answered all of her questions, and made sure she understood the situation completely. That level of kindness, patience, and professionalism is rare. Dr. Sadiq is truly a gem. UCI Medical Center is incredibly fortunate to have him as part of its team. Thank you for treating my grandma with such compassion and dignity. We will never forget the difference you made.

If I could give this hospital a negative review, I would. Unfortunately, I had a horrible…read moreexperience, and it was not because of the nurses. The nurses were friendly, caring, and did their best. My biggest issue was with the case managers. My father was admitted to the hospital due to shortness of breath, pneumonia, and cancer. He was placed in the older, run-down side of the hospital. During the summer, the room was extremely hot because the AC was not working, and they provided a fan to try to help. The room itself was also very small and uncomfortable. Again, I want to emphasize that we had no issues with the nurses. They were kind and helpful. The problem was the case management. It felt like the main priority was simply getting my father discharged as quickly as possible rather than making sure he had what he needed to safely go home. He was discharged without several necessary medical supplies and we were told they would be delivered afterward. Unfortunately, the vendor could not provide one of the supplies because the prescription they received from the case manager did not include the required model number. The vendor needed an updated prescription before they could send it. I called the case managers repeatedly, leaving multiple messages and calling every day for over a week. No one returned my calls. We eventually had to contact my father's doctors ourselves to try to resolve the issue. This should not have been necessary, especially for a patient dealing with cancer and recovering from pneumonia and breathing problems. It is extremely frustrating and disappointing to feel like the healthcare system no longer puts patients first. Discharge planning should be about making sure patients and their families have the proper support, medications, and medical equipment--not simply getting them out the door. UCI, please do better. Please consider replacing or retraining case managers who are unwilling to communicate with patients and families and who do not follow through on critical discharge needs. Because of this experience, I would not recommend this hospital, primarily because of the case management and lack of follow-up.

Everything is extremely slow and requires an appointment for a simple response on test results etc. but it's fine we followed the process. Now that I am disabled and unable to walk, I found it to be beyond upsetting that they would not provide me with a virtual appointment to discuss my test results where I was physically in office to provide the sample the previous day. The results were emailed to me by the lab the previous night, and the medical assistant told me that I wouldn't need to come in again just to hear my results from the doctor. She made a mistake and scheduled an in-office visit instead, and when I didn't receive a phone call, I called in. They said that I would need to schedule another appointment for another day to hear from a doctor. They wasted my time when I should've just gone to urgent care. I expressed my hardships and pain I was experiencing, but there was no sense of empathy or flexibility. They already know about my recent knee surgery, yet they were unwilling to accommodate. I find that to be extremely sad that we would call this healthcare.

To whom it may concern:…read more We arrived at the Doctors office 2min. before our appointment with all our paperwork filled out. After presenting 6 pages of paperwork we asked for a copy. The receptionist responded as if we had NO right to the information on the papers. For some strange reason she was under the impression that sharing the information with the patient would breach some confidentiality or at least that was her attitude. Later after we had left the office I was informed Papa's Care Giver had paid 20 cents a page for the documents we had provided the Office. We sat down and waited. 1 and 1/2 hours we waited. Then we were asked to go to the exam room. Again we waited, another 1/2 hour. 15min of this time the doctor sat with a Sales Lady who had brought salad for the Doctor's lunch. I do not know if the Sales Lady had an appointment, but I do know she did not wait. Food appears to be a priority with the Doctor. On the wall of the waiting room is a sign asking clients to be patient as the Doctor will provide the same attention to each client in turn. The Doctor finally entered the exam room, not reading any of the 6 pages we had submitted, she began asking questions of her brand new Spanish only speaking client. The Doctor does not speak Spanish. Her Nurse was called to translate. She asked where the pain was. I pointed out to her that her client was 87 years old and has many pains from his stroke some 3 years earlier, he has many doctors who treat his many pains, and she may want to explain the kind of Doctor she is so her client might have a better idea how to answer her question. (Quite frankly I was not sure what kind of pain a Rheumatologist would be looking for either. Apparently she wants to treat his joint pain.) After asking many of the questions provided in the paperwork she had not looked at, she asks her client to get into a gown. Once gowned and on the exam table the Doctor proceeds to bend and twist her clients joints with little consideration for him wincing in pain each time she pushes him beyond his limits. The Doctor decides he needs injections in his shoulder and ankle. After the injection the Doctor says he can get dressed and the Doctor leaves the room. A short while after leaving and while I'm helping my Father-in-law with his clothes I notice a lot of blood on his foot and the floor. A pool of about 3" x 6" has accumulated on the floor. I called for the Doctor and she starts to clean it and them calls for the Nurse to clean the rest. I wanted to tell the Doctor how incompetent I found her, but she left the room while I was distracted by a phone call from my wife. The Nurse had remained and so I told her of my disappointment in waiting and the lack of preparation and care taken with my 87 year old Father-in-law. She informed me that we were free to find another doctor. Given her response and the sign on the wall of the waiting room I concluded the Doctor had a chronic problem keeping a schedule. If your having joint pan and you like being ignored, please go and see the Doctor.

-------------- Update 3/3/10 ---------------------------------------------------------…read moreDr. Yu has gone back to China. I have not seen anyone else at this clinic. But based on Glenda's review, it's worth a try. -------------- Original Review ------------------------------------------------------- I am not sure who is harder to find; a good doctor, a good mechanic, or a good husband! I was lucky enough to have found an excellent doctor, Dr. Frank Yu! As for the husband........., we'll talk about that later! For now I am very lucky to have the most wonderful fiance in the world! I've been suffering from neck/shoulder pain and rotator cuff tendonitis for over a year. Gone to numerous doctors from Chiropractor, Orthopedic Surgeon, Internist, Family Physician, Rheumatologist, to Acupuncturist. I've had 2 X-Ray's and 1 MRI taken and was told there was nothing wrong with me structurally (duh!). Physical therapy was prescribed, cortisone shoots were given, and I am all doped up with muscle relaxer and NSAID pills, but still no relief in sight!!! Refusing to poison my body with more chemicals, I continue my quest for another Acupuncturist. Through my PPO directory, I called Well HealthCare One. After asking some questions, Rosie, the Front Office Manager, recommended Dr. Frank Yu (listed on the PPO directory as Feng Yu), so I made the 1st appointment for 10/26/07. Dr. Yu holds a Ph.D. degree from Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and is a certified OMD (Oriental Medical Doctor). He is a professor at China International Acupuncture Training Center, Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Deputy Chief Physician at the Nanjing Government Hospital, currently teaching as a visiting professor at South Baylo University. He is very well-known in his native Country, China, and other Asian countries; Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, just to name a few. His patients include many high government officials and high profile celebrities. Although well-accomplished and respected, Dr. Yu never comes across as arrogant or hastened. He is extremely patient in listening to your problems. After some careful diagnosis, he explains to you what your ailment is and then proceeds with acupuncture and heat therapy followed by Tuai Na (similar to acupressure massage therapy). He will also recommend herbal medicine to speed up the recovery if you're open to it. It's rare these days to find a doctor who is truly in it for the welfare of the patients instead of money. Dr. Yu is passionate about helping his patients and sharing his knowledge and experience with his students. I feel truly blessed to have met him!

With his thorough checkups and attentive care, my parents are the healthiest they've been in years. His front office staff is also wonderful. The longer wait times happen because Dr. Dang doesn't rush appointments. He listens, he explains, and he gives real guidance. That level of care takes time. When it's your turn, he'll give you the same attention, so patience is part of the experience. As for frequent visits throughout the year, that's simply responsible medical care. Your body changes, medications need adjusting, and regular follow‑ups ensure everything is still working as intended. Some people don't seem to understand that this is how good healthcare works.
