I first began doing business with this orthodontist about 4 years ago after talking braces with my dental office at the time (who partnered with them but later began working with another orthodontist). After going through the motions of coming up with a treatment plan, I was told I'd be in braces one year. I followed all the instructions to the letter, and overall the first year was fine. Then things started getting confusing. With each visit, someone different would look at the progress and would contradict the plan for treatment established by the previous person. "Wear the face mask!", "You're good to stop wearing the face mask", "we need you to wear the facemask again", "wear elastics in THIS formation" and then I'd come in with that formation and they'd say "you need to wear them this way instead". By the time I was in braces for the second year, life circumstances changed for me. I moved to a neighboring state for a career change. At first we both did our best to make it work as I'd go to my appointments on my weekend/off days. Now the orthodontist just takes my money and doesn't even check up on me. I've had to cut wires out of my mouth that have stabbed into the back of my jaw, stabbed into lips/gums and I've not heard from them in months. But my finances have. Don't get me wrong. Their front desk staff is great. The other staff members also try to be nice. But I feel like the practitioners themselves do not communicate or care. Worse experience ever. They are very unprofessional. After spending thousandths on the procedures, they were not able to get the job done. They lied about being able perform the procedures on me and my sister, and last minute were not able to. In addition, the doctors there seemed like they did not know what they were doing. Every month I went for a check up and they had a new doctor see me as if he was there for volunteer hours and had no idea where the last one left off. If something did not go as "PLANNED" for them, they made it seem like it was our fault that they were not able to move forward with the procedure. By saying we did not wear the elastics. Me and my sister wore our elastics like we were suppose to and yet they assumed as if we did not, which is the most upsetting part. So now my bite is not aligned and refused to complete their job right. When they removed my braces they gave me the Invisalign retainers which are great but I mentioned that they began to crack because I have a grinding issues. And then one of the ladies there, her name is Isis told me that the grinding issue was suppose to be fixed before the braces. It's absurd to me because they knew I had that issue but never brought it up to my attention through my braces treatment. And then they try to tell me that it was going to be like $2,400 to put braces BACK on and fix the grinding issue. They told me the retainers were not useful because my teeth will still move with the retainers on either way. My sister in the other hand will be getting her braces removed next month with an "incorrect bite" that they refused to fix. They tried to say that the procedure has been too long for them to continue. I don't see how that's a good reason. If the procedure did not go as "PLANNED" is because they do not have enough experience to treat customers who need special treatment, professionally. If you can spend that extra money on a legit Dentist, please do so. Quick update. While they proceeded to finish my sisters procedure they asked me to remove this post. So I did. However, me and my sister are very disappointed with our results and it's a shame that we have to spend extra money to get their terrible work fixed. read more

7:30 appt means you'll be seen sometime around 8:45. I know because I'm still waiting as I type this review. I have two daughters here today that need their devices adjusted. They're in the back now but an hour later and they still have yet to be seen. Very frustrating knowing their attention is given to potential new client before working on the clients they already have. What am I to do? Already paid for both kid's braces in full. The two good reviews given here on yelp are likely from employees, not customers. I'm giving 2 stars because the one kid who had her braces removed and is now wearing a retainer has a great smile now. Otherwise I wouldn't give any stars due to the crap customer service this place offers. I paid $4200 for each kid which my insurance company paid $1000 for each. They're at the San Fernando office once a month which works out fine, but that's a lot of money I'm paying to sit here and wait. read more

HONESTLY im one of those patients who keeps losing her retainers, but this place is amazing they always make sure I get a new replacement right away. Ive been coming here for over 2 years and ive never left disappointed. The staff is super friendly and funny so when you have morning app.they always make your day! (: They try to take you in on time but if other patients come in late its really not their fault... if you make app. Make it with Dr.Cannon he really cares about his patients and puts a lot of thought in your retainers so they would be a perfect fit and have best results. I don't know if the wait is as horrible as other locations. Here in North Hills the wait is the most ridiculous thing ever. You're appt is at a certain time and you have to wait tops 1 1/2 -2 hrs just to get called into a room. I really don't understand why we are scheduled at a certain time with other patients with the same appt time. I work in a office as well and never do we have 5: 6 o'clock . It's just a waste of time. I am currently getting treated for my braces. I did not like the idea of the procedure I needed. I was leaning towards a different doctor at first but I took the chances. The deal was great for braces and the treatment plan. The treatment plan sounded more painful than it actually feels, it's rather simple and painless. Also the payment options that are given are so helpful! Customer service is great, very friendly. Dr. Rudolph is very kind himself. I recently lost my appliance for my treatment plan, the dentist was kind enough to waive the $600 replacement fee, I AM SO THANKFUL!!!!!!! Unfortunately, my experience was not good. Here's how it all went: I started first with a TMJ treatment and was seen by Dr. Rudolph himself. Slowly the doctors started changing, which was a red flag. The TMJ treatment finished and they decided to start a bite treatment (though now, 3 years later, I realize it was an unfortunate waste of money). Two years ago, I came to be seen by Dr. Sally Moser, who told me to press my tongue against the upper jaw to help my teeth align. A few months later (March 2014), I came to be told that I should NOT have done it and she had never said it. During that appointment, another doctor (Joseph Cannon) joined and started talking in a fast manner that I needed a surgery. WITHOUT my permission (and without telling me the cost), they started preparing me (all baffled with what was going on) for the surgery (putting rubber bands between my teeth) when I literally had to stop them. I came back in September insisting to see Dr. Rudolph and was told this was the only option to align my teeth but he didn't recommend going with it. This year, I decided to get various opinions again from different orthodontists, if I still had no options but the surgery. I came back to My Friendly Ortho to see if anything changed; they had a different doctor, who was saying (kind of incoherently) he could correct my bite and align teeth and that everything would be great. He also didn't seem to listen to my questions: when asked if wisdom teeth should be pulled, he said: "Everything will be fine" without answering the question. I had to ask it a few times to receive an answer yes or no. They named the price of $7000 and they said that I had orthodontist insurance that would cover about $1500 - also, the appointment was on Saturday (remember the day). A couple weeks later, I saw another orthodontist (recommended by a friend who has been successfully treated by him), who offered me a couple of options (an intrusive and a non-intrusive one), showed videos of how every procedure works, listened to my questions and answered them clearly. They also had a normal office dedicated to orthodontia and not random rented locations. The price was also much lower and after having talked to our insurance company on Monday, because apparently the insurance office IS CLOSED on Saturdays, they informed me that I didn't have orthodontist insurance. This completely confirmed that the My Friendly Ortho or Dr. Rudolph's orthodontists were a bunch of liars. I'm definitely not going with My Friendly Ortho and would like to warn other people, who want to receive good service for affordable fair prices. Please research other orthodontists, ask around, but do not be treated by the orthodontists from My Friendly Ortho. read more

I came to Dr. Rudoph's office in need of some serious straightening. I did every step with him phase 1, braces and retainers. From the beginning everyone was so helpful and explained everything. I had fixed braces put on my mouth when several other orthodontists (incorrectly) told me that I would need jaw surgery to correct my bite, this orthodontist gave me the RIGHT advice and fixed my bite. My experience here started around 6years ago when I was a jr in high school. Long story short I wore an "appliance" in my mouth for a year before my braces (didn't really wear it often) and miraculously a year later my mouth was now "ready for braces." I got my braces on and making an appointment at the location they had guaranteed wasn't always the case. They were a traveling office!! So weird !!! I didn't get my braces adjusted very often and only saw Rudolph himself maybe 3/4 times in the two years I was there !!! but being young I didn't care, I just figured it was fine and the dental assistant (I think his name was Martin, was awesome! I didn't see him much at the end but he did a great job). I got my braces off a year later, my teeth were straight but could have used more time with braces. A few months go by and my retainer brakes, so I make an appointment and go in. They told me my retainer wouldn't be ready for a month !!! And they would make me a retainer that fits my shifted teeth to make them straighter and then from there they would give me a straight retainer. WHAT?!? Yup I was as confused as you reading this. (P.s- my teeth went completely back to how they were even after using their "shifted teeth retainer") Don't go here!! I feel bad my mom paid my braces back then. read more

The staff at this office really takes the time to make sure your visit is as enjoyable and efficient as it should be. All of the staff make you feel at home. They take their time to assure they answer all of your questions. you are given the best price available, they gave me a large discount for having medical. They also arranged low monthly payments for me. I left my first initial visit extremely happy knowing after going to plenty of other orthodontist offices I got the best service all around. DO NOT SIGN UP HERE. Please please do not be fooled by the good reviews. I wish I could give this place 0 stars. This is the worst mistake I have ever made. My boyfriend has a contract for his braces here, and EVERY SINGLE TIME we have come for an appointment, that is roughly 6-7 times, it is ATLEAST an hour and a half wait. Appointment at 6:00, plan on being seen after atleast 7:30. This place is insanely unprofessional and unorganized. The only reason they are still in business is because everyone is trapped in contracts. At our last appointment, when we signed in, there were 6 other people who had also signed in for the same time, and there were still other people walking in after us. What kind of place schedules more than 6 people for the same appointment time when there is only one doctor and a handful of assistants? Not to mention that in addition to the 6 other people who have the same appointment time as you, you also have to wait for everyone who was scheduled for the hour and a half before you who are still waiting. Do not go here. So unprofessional. So unorganized. He is a full time student as well as a full time worker, no one should have to allot 3 hours for an orthodontist appointment. I would give this place no stars if I could. The worst experience of my life!! The Orthodontists are inconsistent. I started my treatment off with Dr. Rudolph, and I have not seen him in more than a year without any explanation as to why! He did not take the time nor made the effort to make sure that my bite was correctly aligned. Instead he said the RETAINER would fix my bite, which is total BS. Therefore, i have had to get my braces put on a second time around. The staff is friendly but the level of consistency in this office is horrible. I have been seen by a total of 5 DIFFERENT orthodontist over the past 5 years. This inconsistency in staff makes it difficult for patients(like myself) to feel secure and TRUST professional opinions at this office. I wish I would have done my research before doing any kind of business here. They take on more patients then they can actually see and give inadequate service(money hungry). In addition to all of that they move around from one office to another from month to month this means if you have a bracket or anything else break between appointments you are SCREWED, you have to travel out of your way to get it fixed, or prolong the time you have your braces on. They space out your appointments to every TWO months (which is horrible because you SHOULD be getting seen at least once a month for adjustments and maintenance on braces). The wait time for appointments varies from 15 min to around an hour (most of the time around 30-45 min). WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! read more
