The bagel was not fresh, it was hard and dry. It had one chunky piece of onion. I can say it was one of the worst Lox bagels I've had.

Excellent bagels and super friendly service make David's my new favorite bagel place in the Bay Area. I recently stopped in to pick up a dozen bagels for a work breakfast and David pointed out which varieties were still warm, and even tossed in a couple of freebies. We went there to try bagels on Saturday morning shortly after their opening time. The bagels were not available which was disappointing and ended up getting different baked goods. Not sure if this is always the case but keep in mind that fresh bagels may not be ready/available if you go there around 7:30 am on the weekend. read more

I went here with my sister the other day, the atmosphere did not seem very friendly. I ordered a jalapeño and cheddar bagel but just got a cheese bagel. My sister ordered a chai latte and it was made very messily. There was syrup around the side of the cup and it was set down roughly and spilled a bit. Overall an odd experience, service wise but the bagels were very yummy. I'd go back for a bagel but maybe not a latte. read more

I'm a yarn buff whose hunger cues really don't alert me until it's far too late, so after stopping at the Royal Bee just next door for a few supplies, I found myself standing in front of David's desperate for a bite. Their bagels are great value, they stuff that sucker with cream cheese, and their cappuccino was on point! They have a La Marzocco machine for espresso drinks. Service was prompt, straightforward, and friendly. One small suggestion would be to salt the salt bagels a tiny bit less, but that's personal preference! Wow! I'm a local and have been here several times. Each time the owner is there and is curt at best. Rude at worst. Today I asked to use his restroom which he shares with the Nextdoor art gallery. He emphatically said it's not for the public and actually said " go down the street -- there's the door". I explained I've been there many times, older gal and I really need help. "No and get out!" When I started working full-time in 2023, I was desperate for a dependable place I could stop by for a bite & coffee on my way to work. And David's Bagels really hit that spot out of the park!! The variety of flavors, both with the bagels themselves and the spreads, always means I can try something new or have my old reliable (Asiago cheese bagel with chive spread). Walked in and ordered my usual double espresso and slowly realized that I wasn't at Intertwine anymore. Apparently, David's moved in at the beginning of the year (2023). This is now my favorite spot for espresso. They use a dark roast from Connoisseur in Redwood City which I love. The 5 star review is for the espresso. I also had a sesame seed bagel with the veggie cream cheese. The bagel was dense and moist (how I like it). The veggie cream cheese was decent but didn't have as many veggies as I would like. My bagel experience was 4 stars. They also have a case filled with yummy looking pastries which (I was told by the staff) are made by David's also. They have a shelf of day old products if you are looking for a discount. Bagels typically aren't so good the next day, but they had day old pastries which tend to be pretty decent the next day. I will be back for the espresso and perhaps a pastry (or maybe even a bagel). read more

I ordered a vanilla latte and a garlic breakfast bagel. The bagel and latte were both yummy. If you like a sweeter latte definitely ask for more sweetener or plan to add sugar after. David's Bagels is located in a cute building in downtown Pacifica and offers fresh bagels and some other Jewish American baked goods. I ordered a half dozen bagels for my freezer and I got a bagel sandwich made with vegan cream cheese, tomato, cucumber, and onion. I'm so happy they have vegan cream cheese on the menu so I'll be going regularly for that! The bagels are perfectly chewy, they're definitely boiling them before baking to perfection which is the correct (only) way to make bagels! The bakery items all looked good too, including the hamentaschen and macaroons which are a special treat to see! I saw a sign for challah but maybe they only make it on Fridays. I visited on a Tuesday. Staff behind the counter were friendly and helpful. Standing room only, except for a bench outside on the front deck. read more

This star is strictly for the espresso switch. I've been coming to this place for 4 years, and the coffee had been sooooo good. However, David took over, and while the pastries & bagels are yummm, thus new espresso is DISGUSTINGLY HORRIBLE!!!!!!! I had been noticing someting was off, but I thought it was a fluke. Until finally I asked, and it was confirmed that they are no longer using Equator. These espresso beans have a burnt, bitter taste that no amount of syrup will mask. It's just bad! I mean, if Dave was going to switch, be honest and let customers know what they are drinking. Better yet, if this is the garbage you're going to serve, well stop selling coffee and just sell bagels. Until they bring the the BETTER espresso back, I will no longer be getting my fix here. I had a good run though. read more

I'm FOMO'ing over the years that I missed out on David's Bagels, since it wasn't until the pandemic that I discovered this local gem! But, I'll try not to dwell on my regrets. We've ordered an assortment of stuff, but my favorites are the Everything Bagels (steamed not boiled), veggie cream cheese, and apricot rugalah cookies. My kid loves the mini bear claws; they're the perfect size for snack time. The rest of my family are fans of the Asiago and Jalepeno Cheddar Bagels (steamed). If I order early enough, I usually get my order delivered the next morning about 9ish (I live in town in Pacifica.). When I've ordered later in the day, I'll get my order 2 mornings later, but totally worth the slight wait! read more
