TERRIBLE SERVICE!. We might as well been invisible. We sat down and were ignored for about ten minutes while waiting staff continued to pass us up to check on other tables. We took our time to get up and walk out and were still not acknowledged. It looks like they tried to pack too many things in a small area. Well I've got to admit I'm extremely displeased in the conduct of Professionalism demonstrated by the owner of this business. David's Pizza has been in business for years. Apparently his brothers also own Pizza Businesses also (bravo!). The issue all started when going in to pick up a meal. My credit card was charged 31% on top of the amount specified on the register. Basically the receipt I received back stated the meal was around $20.00 and I was charged $26.00 and some change. What are the employees tipping themselves here or something? I go in one day to bring the issue up with management where my contact information was taken down and I was told I would receive a call very soon. 2 weeks go by I have yet to receive a call. I of course called in again only to have my name taken down with my contact information for the owner to get back to me and still I have yet to receive anything. I notice the owner doesn't have the decency to return my calls. It seems the owner is quick to hand a job over to a Lincoln High graduate or student but could care less in keeping his customers. My family have I have been customers since I started going to Lincoln in 2004, even after I've graduated college up to this point. If your going to go here to eat, pay with cash. Consider my experience a warning. Feel free to keep my 6 dollars and some change, I'll take my business else where. There are tons of Pizza places in town who serve great pizza, and if any were to go under due to business owners who could care less about their customers, this guys company would certainly crumble. read more

I am absolutely irate about Davids service right now. My wife & I just walked out of there ( without eating and starving!) totally pissed off. We've been going there for 8 years now & regard for the customer has gone way down. The past however many times we went there we've had to wait an extremely long time for our food. The last time I was comped a beer but now free beer can't even get me to stay. This insanely good pizza is ruined by the restaurants inability to tend to their patrons orders. There's no excuse for it. Why? Because it happened last time, & 5 times before that. Your 1 poor waitress was running around showing so much frustration in her face. Tonight, it was 1 big party that they said was pushing back all the orders. So the hell with all of your other customers??? I've been eating Ricks since I was 5 years old. I live in North Stockton now. I'll be driving to Lodi to continue to go to Ricks from now on because I love your families recipe but Dave Calder, you need to get it together. Food was amazing! Service was absolutely ridiculous! My first time eating at this restaurant and im beyond shocked at the way we were treated by one paticular young female server with read hair. I came in with my 2 kids and 4 more nieces and nephews, 2 sisters and brother in law. We ordered 2 family specials and upgraded one if them. After an hour of talking, enjoying our salad and playing arcade games the children were getting restless. We stopped the red headed waitress and asked about our order. We told her we had been waiting a long time. She replied with a complete lack of concern and said yea we're busy and theres an hr wait right now so....my sister, holding my 1 yr old said well can you please check our order we've already been waiting that long. The server in front of all the children and other customers in the restaurant said well what do you want me to do about it! My sister said can you please just check our order the kids are hungry, the server replied very loudly what fine but you dont have to be so snotty! We were all in complete shock. We were not rude at all! We understand in a Friday night it gets busy, but we just wanted to know how much longer. My sister asked for the manager and our server assisted us apologizing for the problem. ...but heres the problem: in front of everyone including our kids this server became so inferior and and yelled at my sister and then never even came back to apologize or take responsibility for over reacting. Honestly all she had to do was say let me check in your order! Our server gave us a discount and that was great but we will never forget such an experience. read more

Tonight I was extremely disappointed in our service at David's. Sat on the yogurt side. No tables were clean. Fortunately the server came and wiped one down. After that, we were kind of left there to dry. It took a very long time for someone to take our drinks let alone food order. We ordered 2 pizzas. 1 for kids 1 for adults. He brought the first out and said he forgot to put the order in for the second. He said it would take 12 minutes Aka 20. So long after the kids were done our pizza came. We asked for it to be free or at least discounted and he said 1 cup of beer could be free. No thank you. This is a place we come to often after our sons baseball games, in fact we were there 3 days ago but after tonight forget it. It's very expensive for the service you get. When you're wrong you're wrong. We had to argue for 15% our pizza. Our bill was over $75 with the discount. We spent plenty of money and I'm sure giving 1 pizza away because of your mistake wasn't going to hurt. read more

Every 6 weeks when it's time for midterms I always buy a large pizza to hold me over while I study so I won't waste any time going out to get food. This semester I decided to take a break from the usual chains and try out David's. Unfortunately I did not come away particularly impressed. I ordered a large New Yorker pizza, which comes with salami, canadian bacon, mushrooms, linguica, and olives. Perhaps the best thing the pizza here has going for it is that they put a TON of toppings. I almost couldn't see the cheese because the toppings were piled on so high.Most of the toppings was olives, my least favorite of the five, but there was still plenty of the rest. I think many people would also appreciate that their pizzas are not oily at all, which is quite uncommon. Unfortunately that's where the praise stops. I can't really put my finger on it, but the pizza here just lacked any sort of flavor. The strongest flavor on my pizza was the olives, and for me that's not a good thing. The meat was shockingly bland and I could hardly taste the sauce at all. The worst part, however, was the dough. For some reason the edge of each crust was mushy. It was like eating a wet napkin, absolutely disgusting. I also ordered a half order (5) of cheese sticks. These were decent, but quite small and not worth $3.75. Seeing all these good reviews, maybe I just chose the wrong pizza. I might come back and give this place another chance, but as of now David's Pizza is a pass for me. read more

Well I waited till I had tried this place 3 times before posting a review. I want to keep it short to the point. I either have bad luck or this place likes to under cook their pizza. I have on 2 occasions had raw toppings and dough. The third time my dough was cooked but the dough was wet and mushy at the part where it was cut like the pizza cutter was wet this disgusted me wet dough is sick. The best part of the pizza is the toppings but they think they can just over charge for their reputation. I will not be back a 4th time. read more

Went here about a week ago and was very disapointed. I placed my order over the phone and was told to pick up in 20 mins. I get to see nothing but total chaos, with a line out the door. It took then 20 more minutes to get to the front of the line to ask for my pizza then it took an additional 15 minutes to find it. As i observed everything going on here. I noticed nothing but teenage high school kids working the counter and in back. Most of them looked confused and stressed and could not handle the fast pace. Many had shitty attitudes and keep going in circles. I also observed a gentlemen who was waiting for 35 minutes for his pizza and when he asked if it was ready , the kids looked around frantically and could not find his order. They never placed the order but they had taken his money... The girl and another girl started playing the blame game , then tried to explain to him that his order was never made and it would take 30 more minutes to make. He was very upset as you would imagine. The owner had walked in and he told the girl he would like to speak to the owner. The owner had no remorse for the customer he did not offer any free stuff or a discount and was just as rude. the man was pissed demanded a refund and stormed out. Needless to say that was very unprofessional. The pizza is not that great and you could find better at Dantes or Pomperdors. I was very dissapointed in the service and the price of a stiff pizza. Stockton can do better , shop around people. I will not help support this business who doesnt care about its patrons. I only put 1 star cuz i had too. I go here often but always get my food to go and take their service with a grain of salt. After my experience today I decided to write on here just to make people aware. The ladies that work the register are completely RUDE. Do they not know they work in customer service? They ignore you and laugh while you stand there in a suit on your lunch break like you have all the time in the world. We lived in the area about a year ago and were very impressed with Davids pizza. Living in Manteca now, not so far away but we did make the trip just for pizza. Expected something delicious but were so disappointed......did you guys have a change in management? The "sauce" tasted like pure tomato paste, the pizza was very dry and that is definitely NOT a New York trait....I know, I was born and raised in New York and pizza was always our Friday night go to when raising our children there. Dry is not good, you need that olive oil to dip the crust in and sadly there was none. Brought home 3/4 of the pie, froze it, and just now heated up two pieces with olive oil drizzled all over it.....much better. Now if you could only do something about the sauce. Pizza should be dripping, the cheese stretching, the sauce tasty and spread with consistency for any pizzeria to tout it as New York style. :( read more

Customer service is horrible!! I've only been there twice and will probably never return. Today I walked in and sat myself (just like the sign on the counter says) at a table right by the front counter. There is absolutely no way they didn't see me sitting there. Nevertheless, I waited over 25 minutes and nobody acknowledged me once...not even to take my drink order. The place wasn't even busy. I was there one week ago and the same thing happened. That time, I sat at the bar and waited for 15 minutes before going up to the counter to place my order. I was told to go sit back down and wait for a waitress. Ate here tonight with the family on the the patio because we had our lab with us. Food and service was outstanding. When we got home , I noticed I left a very expensive Starbucks tumbler behind and drove back to see if it had been found. It was found by employees but misplaced. I was really upset. David's Pizza is good, most of the time. Back when it was Micheals I remember a friend getting food poisoning and his entire family getting REALLY sick from it (I mean the BAD kind of sick, like its... coming out both ends if you know what I mean?) Anyway he swore never to eat there again, and remember it was owned by someone else then? I don't know for sure but it had a different name anyway. Plus this friend of mine ate a lot of little ceazar's and tried to tell me that HE LIKED Little Ceazers. And I've worked at Little Ceazar's (when I was 16) and I HATE little Ceasar's (I don't know if it's spelled with a z or an s and I don't care) so there you go. Little Ceazzer's is NOT real pizza. David's IS real pizza. Here are the down sides; It's REALLY expensive. If you have 3-4 people plan on spending $50.00. AND it can take a long time because they are busy because... it's good pizza. It was the first time when I ordered a pizza here for to go. 1-Topping cheese pizza. The topping was canadian bacon. They asked me about hawaiian delight but I told we didn't like pineapples. I paid $14.something for it which was strange because on the menu the 1-topping cheese pizza was cheaper, but I thought I was maybe wrong. I had to wait 15mins which was okay for me. At home I opened the box and I wasn't happy. I got a hawaiian delight with lots of pineapples. The pineapple was the worst thing because it had sweet liquid and all of my pizza tasted sweet it wasn't enjoyable at all. On the box the label wrote just the bacon no pineapples, so I paid for a hawaiian delight with no pineapple and paid that price instead of 1-topping cheese pizza's price. I know it is just one dollar something difference but if I had got a 1-topping cheese with bacon maybe I didn't have pineapple on it. On the other hand the crust was okay, it was nicely baked (not burnt) however the crust was a little bit too wide on the edge (no sauce or anything on it). It was rich in the toppings enough canadian bacon and lots of pineapple (a hawaiian delight fun would be really happy with it) Have no idea about the red sauce or the taste of the pizza because the pineapple made it sweet. I could imagine I would love it if I got what I ordered. The kitchen area looked clean and well organized full with fresh ingredients. I gave only 1-star (I know it doesn't seem fair but for me it was an expensive pizza what I wasn't able to eat) because I told it was my first visit and the girl wasn't too nice and helpful at the counter and I got and maybe paid for something else what I originally ordered and I got something what I really didn't like and ruined the pizza's flavor and our dinner that night. So 1-star is more for the service than the quality of the food but unfortunately if someone doesn't care of your orders the chef can't make the right order and the customer will be very unsatisfied especially with an "unloved" ingredients. read more

Getting in our first time there was pretty confusing. There was a sign over a door that said PIZZA and a sign over another door that said YOGURT SHOP. The pizza door was locked but people on the inside pointed to the yogurt shop door. Once inside we had no idea whether to stand in line for yogurt or seat ourselves. We seated ourselves at the only clean booth. The place was pretty full at lunch time but there was only one waitress and no bus person. It took quite a while for her to get tables cleaned and get around to taking our order. Finally a guy in shorts, a tee shirt, and flip flops came in and started cleaning tables. The pizza was pretty good but when I asked to speak to the manager she said she was it and that the owner was out running errands. I explained the signage confusion (8 other parties tried to use the "wrong door" while we were there). she told me he bought the yogurt shop 3 years ago and hadn't gotten around to changing the signs or at least put a sign on the wrong door to use the yogurt shop door. read more

I visited this location on Hammer Ln and we sat at our table for 30 mins which we cleaned off ourselves. There were 2 large groups next to us, and from what it looked like they had one person covering the whole area. The waitress came to our table when we first sat down to take the previous persons bill and cash and said she would be right with us. Needless to say 30 mins later and my sons $5 gone to the arcade we left. I don't blame the waitress, as it's not her fault they didn't care to place another person in her area. Hands down best pizza in town! If you like to take a step out of your comfort zone ask for the pesto sauce instead of the tomato sauce, omg it's so delicious, I feel like I'm in Italy (even though I've never been). Tip: combination with pesto is what you got to order. Anyways everything is good here, no complaints. When you eat at the restaurant the service is good, oh and the effing ranch they have is to die for. The outside patio is a joy to be in while you're out with family. I gotta say it again: best pizza in town! I don't care what anyone has to say. Once again I dealt with rude customer service due to their OWN incompetence. After taking down the wrong order and sending us home with it, the RUDE girl named Yesenia had the worst attitude both over the phone about her bad order taking and also when we brought the food back and she STILL didn't have the corrected food ready when I arrived20 minutes later to pick it up. Walked away and never came back once I gave her the incorrect food back, and instead forced a coworker to bring me the new order once it was finally complete. No apology, nothing. The guy named Jeff seemed unconcerned that half our food at home is now sitting cold while the other half hot. Said he wasn't allowed to give refunds and this establishment doesn't keep a weekend manager or anyone authorized to give any kind of refund on the weekends (according to him). Said sorry but we can't help you. The people ahead of me in line were also having problems with this crew as well due to lack of knowledge of a PRE-PAID order and care to make things right. I used to eat here frequently, but rarely eat from this establishment anymore due to the untrained and rude staff and this experience reminded me once again why, as well as prompted me to give them the review their customer service warranted. It's my feeling that this establishment holds to the fact that there's a gym next door with continual hungry kids, and doesn't need good service and doesn't seem concerned with hiring or training good customer service workers. Yesenia definitely belongs in a minimum wage job where she doesn't need any skills further than a high school starter job that she's currently holding.
