First of all, I sit at the bar and it takes 15 minutes to even be acknowledged. I order the steakhouse burger medium well and it comes out completely raw and blood all over the plate. I send it back. It comes back BURNT and the size of a burnt hockey puck and the roll is cold and there was no sauce that was supposed to be on it. Fries were soggy and had debris from the fryer in my portion of fries. Not once did someone ask how I was doing. Oh and everyone else at the bar got bread and I did not. Never coming back. read more

Davio's has such good reviews, I pass it all the time and I was in the mood to try something different so I gave it a shot. Had the spring roll sampler which was ok. The chicken Parm was good and the streak and cheese was good like pretty good but the others I could do without. They're pretty small too. Drinks were just ok, the lobster with mash potatoes had really good flavor and the prime rib was pretty good, not amazing. Overall I give a 4, service was great, and ambiance was nice. We arrived early for 5:00 early dinner - first time at South shore Davios. The ambience is not quite as nice as downtown Davio's. Yet I would categorize it as very nice with nice bar with several booths in the bar location which one of which we ate at.  Before I get started, I must say that we're tough graders and I hope that some of my thoughts and suggestions are of interest. I'm starting off of the Fremont Abbey Cabernet about $109 excellent cab and I would say that Davios has an excellent wine list with at least 15 wines under $100 that are nice and many from 100 to 300 which are excellent. This brings me to my first comment suggestion. I believe that anytime anyone or a bottle of wine over $100 that their glasses should (especially a Cabernet)  be changed out for a large bowl glasses. Ours were not and were more like a Chardonnay glass which is disappointing.  When you go to find dining like Davio's, the expectation is that you're going to try to eat one of Boston's finest so little things matter My girlfriend ordered chicken spring rolls. She rated them a 2.9 with marinara sauce. Want proper spring rolls, go to any Thai restaurant. I ordered the Tagliolini I changed the sauce from they're bolognese to their marinara sauce which was a good decision. The Davios in Boston's  bolognese sauce is WAY too much sauce so I changed it up this time score 2.9-3.0 As a side I ordered the  gnocchi which it did not like too tough for me and I rate those a 2.0. The meatballs were good but I would say no better than a 3.5 but good taste. My girlfriend ordered a ribeye 16 oz medium  with char. I think if you want to have a better steak Moo is a better choice. She rated it the steak about 2.9-3.0  she said it seemed just a bit tough but had it with the wine sauce which was good.. As a side she ordered the Angliati. Which for my taste was the surprise of dinner. I rated it a 3.9. She likes Eataly's Angliotti more and so only gave a. 3.0. You get 4 noodles for my taste a nice side dish Now speaking of making sure you look after the little things, we were not offered silverware until we asked for it. And they failed to bring a spoon for my girlfriend's coffee.. not a reason not to go there- just a comment. Service no better than a 3.0 . Again I'm noting just the small things like the glasses for the wine which for us makes a difference if you want to be like top shelf. Finally- from 3-5pm Beatles music is fine but for dining something more mellow like jazz would be more appropriate- so did not enjoy dinner music. Total tab about 310 + tip so around 370.00. Overall we rate it a 2.7-2.9 I've been to all three Davios now... Cannot say it's a good value for the money, it isn't- Sorry read more

We do come here a lot for lunch and dinner with friends. Conveniently off the highway with lots of parking. We love sitting at the bar for food and drinks. Dinner for my daughter's birthday. Attentive friendly service. Apps were good. Burrata, tuna tartar and steak and cheese egg rolls, all very good. Only drawback was a piece of plastic in the prosciutto under the burrata which they didn't address. Dinners were mostly very good. 4 of us had pasta dishes which got very good reviews. Pasta cooked very well, al dente. Filet was cooked perfectly medium rare. Double cut pork chop was ok, a little dry and unevenly cooked. We got 2 sides "creamy potatoes" which were dry and lumpy, and asparagus, which was pretty lame. Drinks were good and service solid. Next time we will skip the sides. read more

Last night was my daughter and son-in-law's anniversary dinner at Davio's Braintree. I worked with Chelsey Lorenzen, the Sales Manager, to plan the evening for 10 adults and a 2-year old in a highchair. She was simply delightful from our first conversation and we developed a plan for the evening which Davio's executed perfectly. The table was perfect; in the main dining room but isolated enough that we felt very special. They handled an unexpected delivery of a centerpiece and it was already on the table when we arrived! We were greeted by the General Manager, Francesca Little, who made it a point to visit the table early on and welcome us. She was very attentive the whole evening. Our Server, Brian, was excellent. He was very impressive from the first hello and handled all our crazy drink, appetizer, and dinner orders with ease. He too was very attentive and right on top of every need for service. And he did a great job delivering the dessert (with candles!!!), an absolutely delicious chocolate mousse cake baked by Davio's pastry chef. It was absolutely fabulous. The food was superb from the appetizers (Spring rolls, of course) right through the above-mentioned dessert. And of course, the reception desk staff were all lovely. read more

Sunday Brunch last weekend. Absolutely the best service I can remember. Our server, Cheryl, was attentive yet not intrusive. Glasses were never empty, table was never dirty and empty dishes did not stay long. The rest of the staff were experts on attending to our needs, bringing food to the table, and being so well prepared and trained. Bravo. A+ The food? We ordered a variety of dishes - none of the orders would rate less than an 8. The only comment? That insanely delicious tuna tare tare - while really fresh, expertly knife handled, and ice cold - the sauce needs to be jazzed up as the acid component makes little impact on some gorgeous fatty tuna and very creamy and light avocado. Always a great time dining here and this time was our first time for Easter brunch. They didn't offer their regular brunch menu which was fine because their additions to the dinner menu were superb. It was just the three of us so when we sat down we ordered some breakfast cocktails, I like to call them; me with a Mimosa, my mom with a Bellini, and my husband because he loves tequila had a cranberry ginger margarita. All were delicious but I loved my Mimosa the best. We usually order too much food and in this case I was happy that we were able to try there Spring Roll Sampler. And, I always get their arugula salad to start because it's my fave. For entrées we all stuck with brunch items such as lemon ricotta pancakes, French toast, and prosciutto Benedict. All were excellent and then we shared the Pana cotta for dessert with some cappuccinos. I highly recommend Davio's for any Brunch needs in the future! read more

The food was delicious. The service was a bit slow, but not unexpected on a Saturday night. The waitress was kind. Ambience was nice but a little dark to read the menu for those 40+ lol. So, my one star review is actually based off of what I saw leaving the restaurant after paying for my meal. As I left, I seen two huge rats walking casually like they were friends with nothing to hide. I mean, cmon!!! I had just eaten! And obviously so had they because they were HUGE. Went last night with the hubby for his birthday. Service was great. We had the crab cakes, Bolognese, ribs eye and asparagus. Crab cakes were mostly crab and very little filler. They were not traditional fried cakes though. They were more like baked mounds. Everything was delicious. For dessert we had tiramisu and dessert martinis. Oh and they give popovers instead of bread. Baked perfectly. Delish. I think the south shore needs more nice restaurants so I'm glad to have Davio's here. read more

This was a 5 star experience! The food was great, the service was excellent, and the ambiance was delightful. My husband and I brought our former neighbor who is 13 years old and an aspiring chef. Jessica (manager) arranged to have him meet the chef and get a tour of the kitchen. All I have to say is that any restaurant staff willing to bring 3 people into their kitchen near the end of the day clearly is proud of how the employees take care of the facility. It was extremely clean and an experience that a teenager will always remember. He had never seen a professional kitchen before. He also never had Prime beef before. His eyes lit up when he took his first bite of the bone-in Ribeye that we shared at the table. Our eyes lit up too, because I personally have not have a steak that good in all of New England for the past 10 years I have lived here. All the food is made from scratch. The sides are excellent and the chicken was delicious. Instead of bread, they give you a basket of popovers with butter. The dessert cart is drool worthy and the cocktails are nicely done. They will see us again. And they just might see our neighbor in 3 years when he is looking for his first job! read more

Another Great visit to Davio's in South Shore Plaza in Braintree. We went days before Christmas and were able to get a table within 2-3 minutes. Attention and service by our waiter Adam T. was excellent - great suggestions and was very attentive for a busy lunch period (much appreciated). We started with the fried oyster BLT appetizer (remembered it from the last visit) and again - served hot, juicy, fresh and lightly breaded - perfect bite. We also ordered the crab cake....what was most impressive of this was it was served like a large scoop ball - and was in a lovely lemony sauce with perfect seasoning and dense crab....very light and you could taste the layers of flavor. The most impressive part of our meal was the custom hamburger - they honored my wish to serve it with no sauce or bun. Let's just say, I have eaten many burgers - but this was the best burger patty I have ever had. It was cooked medium - but was hot and juicy with every bite. I was blown away by the simple seasoning and toppings and amazed at the temperature on each bite. Well done burger - one of the best I have had in a long time. My daughter enjoyed the Salmon Burger - seasoned perfectly and certainly fresh (not fishy) and topped with perfect condiments. Then, of course, ended with a great dessert - Creme Brulee (pumpkin spice) that was perfectly balanced, creamy and enjoyable. But the hit (in my book) was the Panna Cotta with fresh fruit - it was an experience like no other. The Panna Cotta was creamy - yet held shape - smooth and almost like a thick cream, just melted in your mouth - and with fresh berries (blackberry my favorite) elevated the flavor to new heights. The Panna Cotta as an amazing light and refreshing finish to another great meal at Davio's. Finished with a great double expresso. Davio's is quickly becoming one of my favorite spots to come to for a meal that never disappoints. Super Job Davio's. read more

I watched the bartender use his bare hands to "muddle" my old fashion- literally snaking cherries in his palm, the manager sat down at our table to "check-in" and picked food off our plate, and the waitress set an alcoholic drink in-front of our 2 year old son. Other then these awful encounters, we never saw another server, waitress, or anyone to visit our table. Food was mediocre- best item was the kids pizza, which they were "all out of toppings". You'd be better off finding a vending machine in the mall. read more

The first time empty restuarant we seated a party of 5, they put us in a corner behind the wall which is fine. Large table for 4 ppl (minority party) so we are like um okay no big deal. Manager comes over tells us to take off our hats. Ya...NO. but since we were hidden behind a wall we weren't bothered much. The food was okay, my steak was over cooked. Apps were good. I come back to give it another try, this time a party of 7 again empty restuarant maybe one other party dining. They place us on a TINY table meant for nomore then 4 ppl. They didn't want to give us a bigger table on such a slow and empty night. That already annoyed us. Okay so we order drinks ($20 a pop for a cup which is like club pricing) then manager michael comes over again to hassle us about beanies and caps (mind u it's cold outside and cold inside the restuarant this evenin). The policy isn't posted ANYWHERE in the restuarant, website or social media. Either way whatever we said (haha religion etc) he was smug and said you need to remove your hats or they'll refuse service. Party of 7 already over 140 bucks on first round of drinks and didn't order food yet. empty restuarant, no customers aside one 3 person party, and you don't want to make money? (Raspberry lime Ricky and sangria) Appetizers egg roll sampler (meh could be gone without, but plated very nice) Calamari was tasty, (batter was very good, calamari fresh tasting) And tomato w/buffalo mozzarella and balsamic glaze. Both my date and I ordered ribeye cooked medium and that's what came to the table. The steaks were on the plain side, seared and cooked perfectly but lacking any unique or signature taste. (This is a goto steak for me specifically for the profile it offers with the fat content.) (Also I don't use table salt or steak sauce so I added nothing) While it wasn't a complete disappointment I usually enjoy a different experience in this price point. A side of asparagus And I added scallops to my order. We also caved to a dessert, and ordered what was an homage to the cannoli, (between a cannoli and a tart) served over delicious assorted fruits. The fruit saved the dish, the cannoli was an attempt that didn't hit the mark for me, I'm a traditionalist ....always willing to try anything possibly an improvement. Had plastic in my food which they didn't refund nor asked to refund 40 minutes I'm into the meal. The lights were flickering. The server had 4 tables and took 20 minutes to bring the bill so I had to go to the desk myself. Nice addition to the South Shore Plaza. The food was delicious and service was great. I couldn't decide between two dishes so they let me have both by doing half portions of each. The only thing that bothered us is that half way during our dining experience, a manager came by and asked my friend to take his baseball hat off. He was dressed in slacks and a collared shirt so it's not like he was super causal but he did have his cap on. It's fine if there is a dress code but it's not clearly stated anywhere (or on the website) and it should have been made known prior to seating. The incident kind of ruined the rest of the night so minus one star. read more

Came back here again for date night after their lovely regional manager, Karen, reached out to me because of my previous experience here. Everything is set up the same as the last time I had visited. The host and decor were still wonderful. I was greeted immediately at the host stand for my 6:30 reservation and my boyfriend and I were promptly seated. This time around our service was perfect and our server, Meriden, was absolutely delightful. She helped us through the wine list, made recommendations for appetizers, entrees, and dessert pairings. The best part was when our server suggest one of her favorite after dinner cocktails and split it into two glasses for us. I don't recall the name but it was like an Iced Irish Coffee, it was creamy, rich, and strong. For dinner I order the same entree as before with the addition of béarnaise instead port wine sauce. For an appetizer we ordered the raw bar; piccolo. When we ordered our appetizer course we expected something small like if you were to order seafood in the wharf but this was a generous portion for a small platter, and definitely worth it. Loved everything on it, especially the adorable mini tabasco bottles. My entree this time around was outstanding and the steak was cooked perfectly. It didn't need any additional seasoning and the bite was just right, not chewy like I had the previous visit. My boyfriend's entree was also phenomenal as well. His filet mignon and crab risotto just melt in your mouth and a linger creaminess coats the tongue with each bite. I was pleasantly surprised with this visit. Came here twice and both times were disappointing. 2nd time was for a birthday dinner. They don't allow you to bring your own cake...even Abe and Louie's let you bring your own cake without any problems. Both times we felt their steaks were ok. I got the filet mignon and it wasn't flavorful (had to add alot of side sauces) or as tender. The restaurant's desserts are not that great either. Otherwise, I did enjoy their truffle fries! read more
