We visited Daylight Donuts at 1:55. Anything bought after 2:00, goes in a box until the box is filled. WE were informed this by the employee, and ordered real slow. They filled the box to the brim with doughnuts that are left over. I had so many we froze them. Daylight doughnuts has innovative flavors from a Missouri wheat nut doughnut to other flavors. The Missouri wheat nut doughnuts required a second order, and this was before the box was filled with seven of them! Seven! Cause I ordered them after 2:00. I had doughnuts in my freezer for a couple of weeks and they were so good. If I'm Leavenworth again, I'll stop. Looking forward to their new location in Westport. read more

We just came from a city that never sleeps and struggled finding a place to get a sweet treat later in the evening. Then we asked Siri to take us to the closest donut place that's open. That's when we discovered this place. They not only serve donuts, but cookies and ice cream too. So far, my absolute favorite is their cookies. They were some of the best I've ever had. The chocolate chip are my favorite and my wife said that the peanut butter surprise cookie was from another world. Can't tell you how the donuts are because I never got one. There were customers sitting at a table when I came in an no one behind the counter. I have the employee the benefit of the doubt and waited 5 minutes, perhaps they were working alone and had to use the bathroom. Then a customer pulled up to the drive thru and here the shift of person in a chair and a young lady comes out from behind the wall dividing the dining area and the kitchen. She's slipping her cell phone back in her pocket when she see me out of the corner her eye, turns looks fully at me and then turns back to the drive thru and leaves me still standing st the counter. This morning we went out looking for treats and decided to try Daylight as we had never been. We typically always go to Meriwether's which is amazing! We got two cinnamon rolls and 3 regular doughnuts and it was almost $16. I have no problem paying the price if the treats are tasty. Although these doughnuts were not discounted, they tasted like day-old or maybe several day-old doughnuts. They were very dry. Unfortunately we learned the hard way that in this situation branching out was not a good idea. The doughnuts that they bring in daily to the 7-Eleven on Metropolitan are far superior to the doughnuts we got this morning and hands down Meriwether's makes some of the best donuts we've ever had across the country. Maybe we hit them on an off day but it was a Sunday morning and there were plenty to choose from. Save your money and go somewhere else! read more

Opens at 5 am and has a drive thru. Call ahead and they brew a huge jug for the office. The coffee is really good too. The donuts are fresh and not too sweet. They are looking for creative flavor combos, so put in a request and it may be there the next time. I asked for a bacon maple bar. When I was there is looked to be a mother daughter team. It is clean inside and looks to be a nice family business conveniently located on fourth street if you are driving into Leavenworth from Lansing. I preordered 3 dozen donuts with very specific instructions and they were made as specified. I tried the Bismarck's for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised by their size and fluffiness. I will definitely order those again. read more

Only reason I'm giving 2 stars.....very unsatisfied with the selection & availability of certain things.....you need to order more product to have it available if you are going to be open until 1pm.....also, stay open till time you have listed for closing....had a dozen donuts held back....husband went to pick it up....store was closed before 11am!!!!!! There went the donuts....he had made a special trip out just for that.....should have charged you for the gas!!! Note:: you never have enough bear claws.....have you considered ordering a larger quantity to cover the demand....I really don't understand your ordering process... Logically, you need to figure out what sells best & order more of that product!! I wouldn't recommend this donut shop. In the last month, I have had 2 terrible experiences at the drive thru (my only 2 experiences at this store). The first time I tried to order donuts at the drive thru, I was the only car at the store. I sat at the drive thru window for nearly 10 mins, ringing the doorbell at the drive thru window 3 times and nothing. I finally gave up and as I drove by the window, I could see the young girl working there was on her cell phone talking behind the counter. Today, my family and I went through the drive thru after church to treat the kids to donuts. When we got home we learned that while we ordered 6 donuts and were charged for 6 donuts, we were given 5 and only 2 were donuts we ordered. My husband called the manager to complain and she just kept saying that she didn't understand what he wanted. I recommend you just go to Dillons if you want donuts, their donuts are better anyhow and only 2 for .99! Parking and going into Dillons will be faster and less of a confusing process than the drive thru window at Daylight. read more

This is the second time I have stopped at the drive thru and both times very disappointing. Will not be going back. Called and was told they were freshly made, but were not. Were very stale. Will not be going back. Dunkin Donuts is further away, but will make the trip there or to a farther away donut shop, the best in both cities. LAMARS. Dont bother with daylight donuts. Very disappointed. Showed up to get some donuts around 830 pm, yes we were a little late, and we were told all they had left was glazed donuts (which was not what we wanted). So we said sure we will take a dozen. When the gentleman walked away, another worker walked next to the window and placed a full tray of chocolate frosted donuts, to which he brought my attention to the 10 foot tower of donuts. EVERY KIND! I simply asked if those were not available and was told they were for the next day. We got our glazed and left, to which our donuts turned out to be dry and old. What frustrates me is that we as paying customers are afforded dry old donuts when there were fresh donuts ready to go. This is just remarkable that a small town business would have this kind of customer service of "sell what we have out before giving the customer what the really want even if we have it".
