I have always gone to this place for dinner, it was one of my favorite restaurants. But sadly the other night I was misinformed by staff of the time close/etc and the OWNER was a complete asshole. When I arrived to De Lazy Lizard I was informed I could not place a carryout order (after I've been calling for 30 minutes trying to place one). They said the hours had to be changed, but didn't have it correct on the sign or the website. Your employees should also know when you open & close. And when you can take the LAST carryout order. Since I was informed that it says the restaurant could close at 10pm but kitchen closes at 9pm (1 hour before closing time, to "clean"). If a restaurant closes at 10 last order should be closer to 10 not 8:50/9pm. The next day I wanted to place an order, AGAIN no answer after 30-40 minutes. So I show up trying to place an order but the "owner" was just a terrible person all the way around trying to throw "remarks" for their slow service, which was definitely not the right thing to say since I know how restaurants work during covid. Yes I should be patient but also be patient with your customers. If you are offering carryout/take out make an online ordering or have someone answer the phones to take orders. If you think you can not handle seating inside and carryout you should inform your customers you cannot take carryout right now. There's plenty of things the "managers" and "owner" could've done to actually serve people correctly. So sad I've had to face an awful owner tonight. read more

I loved this place! The bartenders were super friendly and the building itself can't be beat. We sat on the dock with our first drink and saw dolphins in the water!! When we sat inside, the natural lighting, open windows, and fans made it breezy and enjoyable. I had a blast just based on environment. read more

We were so excited to make our first trip to Lazy Lizard. We had Billy as our server. He took about 10 minutes to come up to our table after we were seated. He got our orders wrong and when we asked to send them back he gave us attitude. When the correct orders come out however the food was great. We will be returning as long as Billy isn't our server. read more

I have no idea why this place only got 3 stars! I am seeing a review that only gave two stars because their kids only eat grilled cheese or macaroni and wanted chocolate milk and none of those were on the menu...pack that kid a lunch or something. Our three kids ages 4-7 loved this place. They ate their food, played on the playground while we waited and liked the overall outdoor atmosphere. Our server was attentive and pleasant despite my forgetting to ask for something and he had to make multiple trips from the outdoor area all the way back up to the restaurant. The crab dip flatbread (I think that is what it is called) was AMAZING. As in, I want to make the three hour drive back to Ocean City right now to have more. Great place! read more

New ownership needs to fire all management and start over! Spilled a drink down the front of myself because of a huge bug crawling across the table, as I tried to remove the bug. Manager refused waitress request to replace the drink, then we asked to speak to the manager, and two on duty never bothered to come talk with us! Such poor service or care for customer satisfaction! I am leaving this restaurant a one star review because of the uninspired, inflexible, and lazy nature of the chefs that work here. I requested that they make a vegetable wrap, which isn't on the menu but based on ingredients in other menu items would be simple and readily available. I acknowledged that this wasn't on the menu but told them I would pay for one of the regular wraps. The wait staff told me they would have to ask, then returned and said that they couldn't make it for me and that the chef "suggested a salad." I, being a literate customer capable of reading a menu, had seen that there is a section titled "salads" on the menu, and chose to inquire about a different type of meal. I found it off-putting that the staff was incapable of accommodating as simple a request as I made while rudely redirecting me towards a menu option that I didn't want. After I ordered the charred romaine salad, which wasn't charred. It was bland and not filling. I will not be returning to this establishment. read more

Well we will NEVER Come here again. ABSOUTELY HORRIBLE customer service. Asked the guy to split the bill since we were with some friends and he charged my card more than the entire bill ($88 when my bill should have only been 41) and tells me it's fine and he'll fix it but it's showing in my bank account and won't be fixed on my bank account for at least 5 days. Just trying to enjoy and evening with friends eating dinner and turned into a complete nightmare. Didn't even offer a discount and quite honestly our meal should have been free! The waiter didn't even apologize. Oh and the manager didn't either. Hire more Americans that can understand what splitting a bill means and especially since we even labled what should be split. Fish tacos excellent and filling, burgers, ckn fingers for kids were 3 huge pieces each, the service was great and the view of the business of the day with the boats docking and leaving and the breeze was beautiful. Three strikes and you're out. I am a local and decided to give it another shot. Our third visit hoping for an improvement, failed once again. The hostess that seated us acted like we were putting her out. No smile or conversation, just a big frown. The cream of crab soup is the worst I have ever had. It was more like over priced flour soup with no crab meat. I went in search of some old bay seasoning hoping it would help (couldn't find our waiter). I asked a congregation of about 10 waitress socializing and they looked at me like I had three heads and was speaking in a foreign language. Thank goodness the bartender heard my request. Needless to say my soup was cold at this point. There are soooooo many employees standing around doing nothing, very unfriendly and very unsociable. The appearance and location is great, the food, service and atmosphere gets a huge thumbs down. read more

GREAT FOR KIDS!!! I loved everything about this place, and so did my children. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is because my husband experienced food poisoning from the salmon. :( We all enjoyed the seafood nachos which are well loaded with yummy shrimp and fresh crab. I LOVED the Krabby Patty sliders! My daughters enjoyed their beef sliders and hot dogs. I also indulged in a cup of Maryland crab soup that was excellent. The pirate ship play area was my toddler daughter's favorite thing in the whole wide world, and she kicked and screamed and cried when it was time to come to the table for dinner. The area is fenced in on the sand, and lots of children played together nicely. It was about $100 for all 5 of us, including 2 appetizers and soft drinks. I just loved this place, and even my husband said he would go back but would skip the salmon entree. Sit outside if you can; the bay view is beautiful. This is a lot like Seacrets, except it's actually FAMILY FRIENDLY and not painfully loud and full of drunk people and over-priced food/drinks. read more

We had a group of 8 eating here in July 2016. It did not take long to get a table at dinner time during the week and the parking was ample and free. In fact, here is a hint for you. If you want to walk the boardwalk you can park here for free as there were a bunch of open spaces and no one checks if you are actually at the restaurant. Simply park there while they are open and walk the two blocks to the boardwalk. The food at De Lazy Lizard was average for pub like food with some unique dishes. Nothing to write home about. It was not cheap though. Pricing was a little higher than we expected. The view of the bay is great but we were there as the sun was low and right in our eyes shinning over the outside dinning and that was pretty irritating. Some tables had umbrellas but it did no good for our table due to the angle of the sun. There was no way to avoid it at our particular table. The waitress was fine and there were no complaints there, though she did describe a drink's ingredients incorrectly to one of us. This restaurant was packed that night and apparently is quite popular. It must be due to the bay view as the food and beer were only average and over priced ($14 for your basic hamburger and fries), as I mentioned. read more

Me and 9 other friends dined here for my friends 21st birthday. Our waitress didn't tell us her name and seemed less than pleased to be taking care of us- little did she know we were a table full of servers who were excellent tippers. She didn't have a great attitude at all and she seemed too busy for us. We ordered a side of chips and salsa and were brought a huge plate of chips with a 2 oz pico. We asked for more pico because we were sharing and we were charged each time- no one told us we would be charged extra. So we paid 7 dollars for mediocre chips and pico. Then my salmon avocado wrap had next to no salmon and the avocados were not ripe at all- very hard. I was also charged a dollar for ranch without knowing. We've been coming here since this place opened and it never disappoints. First off, get here in time to grab seat on the dock to enjoy some of the most spectacular views of the sunset in all of Ocean City. We always order the Lizard Logs - mozzarella sticks on steroids with a tangy dipping sauce with chunks of tomato. The wings are a nice size, perfectly crisped with just the right amount of Old Bay and I tried the Brown Rice Salad w/blackened chicken, avocado and fresh corn and black bean salsa served with a cilantro lime ranch dressing which was amazing. The only disappointment food.wise is that the hand cut sweet potatoe fries sprinkled with Brown sugar cinnamon and served with honey mustard dipping sauce is missing from the menu. The service here is always great but tonight we had what had to be our best server yet, John. He was right there, almost anticipating when we needed something, always smiling and just very personable and friendly, be sure to ask for him when you come for dinner. The live music is always good and not too loud and there are more than enough signature drinks to satisfy everyone. Add this to your must try list. read more

We will NEVER visit De Lazy Lizard again. This restaurant tries to market themselves as a "family friendly atmosphere". Our plan was to get some food, let the kids play of the playground and walk around the boardwalk for a bit. The restaurant didn't open until 11 and we arrived a little before that. We loaded 4 kids in strollers and walked around for a while before coming back to eat, only to find that our 2 cars were towed. When we tried to talk to the manager about what happened, he didn't care at all. He was extremely unprofessional. He even admitted that they have cameras watching their parking lot and as soon as someone is seen walking away from the restaurant, they call for it to be towed. All of our baby gear, including car seats were in the car and we had to get up to 65th street to retrieve our cars for the total of $770. This was an awful experience, and we felt completely taken advantage of. The police dept even said we weren't the only ones towed from De Lazy Lizard :( This was a restaurant we used to visit and even had our rehearsal dinner there with 60+ guests. With the way that we were treated, I DO NOT Recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

Location cannot be beat and food was great, only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was that there was literally one sliver/piece of avocado in my salmon avocado wrap this evening. Someone else at our table said the same. Additionally, we got the seafood nachos. The menu says it comes with a seafood alfredo sauce but there was nothing like that on it, just sour cream. Nice view, but disappointed in everything else. No happy hour prices at all. Waiter told us the draft beer was 4.50. When we got the bill it was $6! Not worth it for a small plastic cup of beer. We went last night for dinner hoping to catch the sunset. We got there and there would have been a 30 minute wait for a table, which isnt unheard of at the time we went. But we opted to sit in the outside bar area. We were able to find a booth immediately. I liked the bar area because it was 21 and up and had plenty of televisions to watch the O's. Our server Brooke was super attentive and very nice. While we were looking over the menu, a tray of huge mozzarella sticks went by. I knew right then I had to have them. The "lizard logs" were the size of about 3 regular mozzarella sticks and 5 came on the plate. So good! I ordered the Chesapeake chicken- chicken breasts with crab dip on top. And my boyfriend ordered the black n Bleu burger. He said it might have been the best Bleu burger he's had. The atmosphere was excellent we could have stayed all night. The only reason we didn't was because the drinks were pricey. We both got beer and it was about 6$ for each drink. We paid about 40$ just in beer. There are other places to drink where the prices are $2.75. read more

We stopped by while waiting for our OC boat ride; we saw that they had a playground and figured it'd be kid-friendly. I went inside to ask if I could get a drink. They had tons of staff walking around, but nobody came up to me, so I went to the bar area with my two little girls. The blonde at the bar spoke to me, and I asked for paper and pen to write down my order (I just wanted a soda). She seemed too busy, even though there were no patrons at the bar. She did get me paper and pen, and as I started writing, I saw her talking harshly to my children. My 7-year-old had climbed up on the stool and when she didn't respond to the bartender, the bartender got visibly annoyed. I explained that we were all deaf, and she continued to speak to us. Duh....we can't hear, and if I asked for paper and pen, maybe it's a good idea to write back instead of being harsh? From what I could make out, she wanted my kids to get off the stool (maybe for legal reasons). After a few minutes of this, I wrote, "I was just going to get a soda, but never mind." I walked off with my two girls. A server ran after me and started speaking to me, trying to convince me to come back inside (or at least that's what I think he said). I tried to leave, but he wouldn't let us leave at first...finally he realized my two girls had run off and I had to run after them, and finally let me go. Wow! To add insult to injury, we tried to buy water from a vending machine outside the restaurant. It ate our $1.25, and we turned to this jetski/boat booth right next to the machine, and the woman there shook her head and said, "Go inside." The kids' father went inside, and nope, no luck. They said it wasn't their responsibility. Okay. We had planned to eat at De Lazy Lizard after the boat ride...but nope, no way. The playground was okay, but quite dirty. read more

My family and I went to de lazy lizard for dinner tonight and was very happy with everything. We got seated right away (5:30 on a Thursday). Every table had an umbrella with a nice view. Though my only complaint about the seating, was the umbrellas didn't adjust and block out the sun/heat. Some tables were completely covered in shade but mine wasn't. Not a huge deal but if terribly hot then some of your seats were stuck in the sun. Anyway, We got our food quite fast. For an appetizer we got the crab dip flat bread. Absolutely delicious!! Then we got our entrees. My kids got something from the kids menu. They didn't complain so I would think it was good. My wife and I split a grilled chicken salad and two blackened fish tacos. It was our first time eating a fish taco. It will certainly not be our last if they always taste like they did at de Lazy Lizard. It was very very good!! I cannot believe this only has 3 stars. It is one of my favorite places to eat in OC. I've been coming almost every summer for over 25 years. Saw many restaurants come and go. But this one should be here to stay. Great beach vibes. You know you're on vacation here. But even better (and unlike Seacrets) they have a fantastic menu that delivers on every bite. Owning a 2nd home in Ocean City brings me to the town often....and hearing all the hype about this place made it a must try. Of course I gave it a few weeks to iron out the kinks- should have waited a bit longer. Okay- it's all that with the view...but what do you do when it rains? Is too hot out? There isn't much to shelter you from the elements but it's a great happy hour spot for sure! There is no true air conditioned inside dining so prepare to sit in pavilion type seating or directly outdoors. I enjoyed the live music played by a solo act- I think his name is Honu and plays around town- he's good. They have boat slips and a master to help- that too is a plus. When it comes to service and food- they have a way to go. The drinks were just okay (for the price) and the food was bland. Do not get the fish tacos- it's just frozen fish patties cut and served. The crab cake was good- I will agree- but for the price there are better in town. All in all- I will visit again, for a quick drink or an amazing sunset but for a real dining experience, save your money. read more

At first we walked in the entrance where there was a hostess station but no hostess. We stood around in wonder as to if we should seat ourselves. We were ignored by wait staff. little confusing... she then came out from the inside of the restaurant and seated us. I was so excited to try this place and unfortunately the only awesome thing is the view. My family and I went for lunch. My sons steak was a poor cut and my mother asked for mixed veggies and got fries instead. I will say our waiter Zach was very nice. He was accommodating and willing to help. This will be the only time I eat here. Felt you paid for the view not quality food. So disappointing. So wanted this to be a cool place! read more

Went here while on vacation in Ocean City, Maryland. Love the setup they have going with the tables in the sand right by the bay. First off, the hot wings I shared were surprisingly delicious. At first I thought they looked undercooked, but they were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The rosemary fries are a must try there. Seriously, one of the most delicious order of fries I have ever tasted. I was sort of disappointed with my Crabby Patty though. It's a cheeseburger with crab dip piled in it. It just seemed a bit too bland to me. The service was great though along with the majority of the food. Would definitely come back and try it out again. read more
