I love El Que and honestly keep coming back for the margaritas alone. From what I know, it's part of a small group of locally loved restaurants started by Tony (who I think is behind a few other Spokane spots too), and you can really feel that local, community vibe when you're there. The space is a little smaller and first come, first serve, which actually makes it feel more intimate perfect for a casual date night or just grabbing drinks and good food with a friend. If you love Mexican street-style food and tequila, this is your spot. They have a great selection, including different reposados and house-made infusions. Now the food... so good. The wet burrito was one of my favorites, super satisfying and full of flavor. The tacos were also really, really good. And don't skip the starters the guac, salsa, and chips were fresh, and the chorizo queso dip was honestly fire. And the margaritas? Top-notch. I always go for a spicy margarita and they do not disappoint. Also shoutout to Ing (I hope I'm spelling that right!) they was my server and was so sweet, professional, and just had a really chill, welcoming vibe that made the whole experience even better. What fun on a Valentine's evening...finally Spanish style food that is not Spanish rice and fried beans. Great appetizers, tequila menu (spectacular) and limited but great light dinner menu. We came in on a Sunday at 10:30pm or so to end our night, and ordered ourselves each a sangria. The bar was pretty empty save for a few other customers so we easily found places at the bar to seat ourselves at. The bartender was super friendly, and even offered me a soda to calm my hiccups, which randomly appeared halfway through the night. My alcohol tolerance leaves much to be desired. As for the drink itself, I didn't like it all too much. The spices were too strong and the flavors just didn't hit the right notes in my mouth. However, I would come here again for the small and quiet ambiance, a perfect place to have a small get together. I love this little bar for date night because of its low lighting and great atmosphere. I think it is romantic, but maybe not in the traditional sense. There are lots of candles, but it is a bit more edgy. It is truly tiny, so be prepared to not find a spot inside due to its popularity. If we can't find a spot here we go into the sister restaurant next door The Elk, or across to Italia Trattoria. Both also make good cocktails, so you aren't at a loss. There is just something to be said for their very chill atmosphere here. I love the dark and cozy vibes. This place is totally a staple of the Browne's Addition nightlife scene but worth a stop in from any neighborhood, especially if you like tequila. Such a rude and infuriating moment. Me my girlfriend, and her brother just wanted some drinks and tacos and we were made to feel like small stupid young adults who don't deserve to have fun. we stand like jackasses for 15 minutes waiting for one of the twatty female bartenders to acknowledge us. We ate at Trattoria Italians and we were told by our server that the bar across the street made amazing beet tequila drinks. We entered in the bar and we're immediately told we could wait outside (in the rain) for a seat. Even though a group of people all moved over one bar stool so we could sit. Service is awful! My brother and I used to frequent this place when Mitch worked there. He made a drink called the V80, which after he left the drink remained on the menu, but only in the summer. We went to El Que last Sunday for the V80 and we walked in to the place, and the bartender was hanging out and talking to her girlfriend. We were the only two in the bar. She ignored us for about 10 minutes, not even saying hi. Finally after her girlfriend left she came over and asked us what we wanted to drink. We asked if they had the V80 and she said "nope" in a very curt manner. So we got up and walked out. Food is great and service is normally great. However because of such a miserable experience with one of the servers I cannot recommend this place. She treated our group of 5 so terribly from the moment we walked in. After my friend ordered tacos we decided to move to the booth to distance ourselves from this monster. When his food was ready he politely asked if the dish that just came up was in fact his and she just stared at us with eyes of Satan and refused to speak. After hesitantly grabbing his food we awkwardly sat in silence because the vibes where so damaged from her presence. At one point I even asked her why she was just staring at us with such contempt and she just responded that she wasn't and walked away. We all decided to finish our drinks and leave as soon as possible and as we did she made it very apparent to be nice to the other group of people there just to spite us.
