Ok anyone that is complaining about these bagels DO NOT know what a real Manhattan bagel is. YES it is crusty, crunchy, and chewy-- BUT that is how a real bagel is supposed to be people. And those that have spent their lives eating only "bread bagels" I feel sorry for you because you don't know what a real bagel is. Yes it is slow-- but to be expected as it is a small run business. The staff are very nice and helpful. Also anyone complaining about the "cutting" does not realize that some people order online ahead of time so are able to dash in and out. NOT WORTH IT. Waiting almost an hour for a couple bagels is literally ridiculous. There needs to be a serious change in how this business is run. I could've climbed back there and make my order and it'd take 5 mins max. The bagels are already made and sitting on the shelf so I don't understand why I had to wait 50 minutes. While I was waiting, I noticed a few of their employees we're wearing their masks correctly (didn't cover their nose) and I watched the cashiers interrupt people ordering so they could answer the phone and take another order. The only reason why I'm not giving it one star is because the employees I spoke to were pretty nice and seemed to be working hard. I honestly don't see how this place gets any good reviews. We always go to Bennies for bagels and bagel sandwiches but since the FB boards recommended it, figured would give it a try. Big mistake. We ordered a half dozen bagels and three bagel sandwiches. One was the Avocado BLT which was a soggy disgusting mess and fell apart at the start. The bacon was at least half raw and uncooked. The Nutella banana bagel sandwich had barely any banana on it and no Nutella taste. The chocolate chip bagel we had it with did not taste like chocolate at all and had zero chocolate chips in it. The last bagel sandwich was a build your own which contained sausage but the sausage had zero seasoning and was bland. We waited 15-20 minutes for the sandwiches to be made and they were handed over to us in a plastic bag of which the inside was filled with grease (the sandwiches were also lopsided sliding out when handed over. Lastly when we got home and took the items out, the 8oz container of cream cheese which was supposed to be plain actually had seeds inside the bottom of it mixed in so it was completely contaminated. Gross! We most certainly would never go back. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. Go to Bennies for a much better bagel sandwich. read more

Best bagel sandwich I've ever had, Jalapeño cheddar bagel toasted with a pork roll. Honey oat bagel so so good. Bagels are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Unfortunately, I have to give a negative review because of the service. We ordered three bagels to go during a lull and waited patiently to receive our food because we know Covid-19 has been hard on businesses. When people who ordered in-person after us started receiving their food before us, though, I went to the register to ask about our status. One employee responded indifferently, "Oh, we don't have that bagel". Umm... so when were you going to tell us? We've paid for our food, and you clearly saw us waiting for the last twenty minutes. I bit my tongue to remain civil and asked basic follow-up questions. What ensued was a whole host of unwarranted rudeness from a lack of eye contact and full responses to the "Well, we're just very busy right now, so it's not our problem" tone. A simple acknowledgment that they had bungled the order would have remedied the situation, but the staff was almost too keen to escalate the situation. I was so fed up with one employee's aggressive demeanor that I requested our money back to be done with the situation. That sparked a whole new back-and-forth, and I have yet to see any refund appear on my bank statement. What a perfect way to ruin the first morning on vacation! Have come to pick up bagels and bread on numerous occasions. Today, I picked up the chocolate walnut sourdough bread. Once I returned home and opened the bag, I found that the bread was completely raw inside. The entire middle was all raw unbaked dough. Very disappointed and annoyed that I had to make the trip all the way back to return it. I went there to get some cookies and a sweet bread for a thanksgiving brunch due to good reviews I had read. The lemon bread was ok. Literally just ok. The cookies on the other hand were awful. I have never had so many people eat cookies and be afraid to say how bad they were thinking I had baked them. They look to be covered in chocolate chips but they have no flavor and are very bland. When we finally did get to order and went to pick up our food it was chaos. When I did get to the register the girl just looked past me blankly. I had to ask her if I was in the right line just to get her attention. The next time I went I just ordered 2 bagels and 2 cream cheese. Went to pick up my order a half hour later and the ticket was still hanging at the prep station. As a local I try to support local but all 3 experiences we have had were awful. It is a shame because we used to order out from Sunrise all the time. We would get our sandwiches at Sunrise & walk down & get our coffee at Drip & Scoop to get our weekends started. I was really looking forward to this place after checking out he menu. There were lots of employees but it seemed to take a long time to get a toasted bagel with cream cheese upward of ten minutes with two other parties waiting on orders. I thought coffee prices were high. I was looking forward to the bacon and the goat toast. Interestingly the description for this was also the description for the jalapeño and Pico toast. Oddly my toast was not toasted which I was confused about. It was beautiful to the eyes but I wasn't really over the top thrilled. Lots of avocado smash could have used another piece of I guess just bread since it wasn't really toast event though it reads as toast. Ha! I may consider coming again but we shall see. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! If I could give this place zero stars I would. I am not in the habit of writing reviews: however, for this place I had to make an exception. First, the staff does not know what they are doing. They cannot even get a simple coffee order correct. Second, they have terrible customer service. We waited forever for our order - which after we went to go ask about it - had been sitting there the whole time. They were not even sorry. Not one bit. And the place was empty most of the time - so it's not like it got lost in the fray. Needless to say, congealed cheese and cold eggs are not very appetizing. Finally, you can see that the staff handling the dough is not wearing gloves. We're talking bare hands. Ewww! Don't know if this is a health code violation but it is gross. They are walking around touching other things in the store and then going back and touching the dough. Enough said. You've been warned. Go at your own risk. read more
