Came here again for another retirement party and the food experience was not as great. I like my food to look pleasant to the eye so when I saw my cheeseburger salad I was disappointed. They used cheese slices on top of my turkey patty that looked like it had just been warmed up in the microwave to melt. Also the tortilla wraps that surrounded the plate looked soggy. Yummy Deano's. One of the best places in town to get your caloric intake for the week. They offer so many good dishes that will just wow your tastebuds and clog your arteries....namely the pizza burger (two pizzas used as buns for a burger) whoa! I haven't tried it, but that's to give you an idea of what kind of joint it is. Walking in, you definitely get the homey mom and pop vibe. I love it. The service is always friendly. Started off with the boneless wings, and the fried ravioli appetizer served with marinara. Both were good. We shared a small pizza, which they let us do half and half. So we did half BBQ chicken and half T. rex (meatlovers). I did like both. The bbq chicken pizza is a little different in that they use shredded chicken, not cubes, like other places. Then we also shared the special of the day which was a turkey burger. Omg was it delicious. You're probably thinking - why a turkey burger at a place known for their pizza? Well guess what? I'd definitely order it again! The turkey patty was so juicy and delicious. The sauce they added was also yummy. The pizza place is nothing fancy but it's actually a rather large restaurant with a full bar and and a few free standing games that you can play while waiting for your food. The games are a little warn out but still operational. When we arrived Molly the bartender was taking her meal break at one of the the tables she greeted us immediately. We told her not to hurry but she got right up to take care of us anyway. My husband ordered the lunch special which included his coke, salad and individual pizza for one. He chose the muffuletta pizza. Muffuletta pizza who knew? The crust was light and the toppings were plentiful and it did taste like you were eating a muffuletta sandwich, of course I had a little. I ordered the spinach salad. It was crisp fresh and the salad dressing was a vinaigrette that Molly recommended. The prices were reasonable. Once we got the TV turned from the Disney Movie to the NBA game we ordered some traditional buffalo wings and a pizza with EXTRA SAUCE. We always order extra sauce at Dean-o's because they barely put any sauce on their pizza. We waited over 30 minutes for our wings (no buffalo sauce on the wings) and then ordered pizza. The wings arrive about another 40 minutes later AFTER the pizza we'd ordered well over an hour before. That's fine I guess but we got home and THERE IS NO SAUCE ON THE PIZZA. However everything was entirely too salty. I ordered many things off the menu to try them and I am underwhelmed. Quality pizza place. Wide variety of toppings. Love the Cajun Canaille! You're able to choose up to 4 specialty pizzas on a single pie which makes finding your new favorite really easy. The food here is incredible! The service today sucked ass through a straw. I never received all the food I ordered, which saved me like $13. I also never saw the waitress more than once, which saved me another $12 because I refused to tip her. When I moved to Lafayette from New Orleans in the mid-nineties, the task of finding good places to eat proved to be surprisingly difficult. I was used to having access to some of the best cuisine in the country, so I just assumed that Lafayette would be more of the same. After all, it's Cajun Country, which brings to mind all the classics such as jambalaya, gumbo and any and all things involving seafood. During that first year, however, finding something simple such as a decent po'boy lead to disappointment. I can't remember exactly how we discovered Deano's, but it's still mind-boggling even now that the one Lafayette restaurant that keeps me coming back is a pizza joint. Oh, but what glorious pizza it is! Though New Orleans has stepped up its pizza game in the last few years, nothing has come even close to what Deano's has to offer. I was delighted to find during my most recent visit, after attending Louisiana Comic Con, that the restaurant has changed very little since my high school days. An outside patio area was added to the front which would be great for cool fall and spring evenings. Otherwise, the interior was exactly how I remembered it. It felt like I was coming home. To further add to the ambiance, our waiter along with the entire staff was super friendly and helpful. Most of the other people in our party of six had never been to Deano's before, so it was up to me to suggest menu items. The Marie Laveaux and the Chicken Fresco had always been my favorite pizzas, and I was happy to find that they both tasted just as delicious as before. The kitchen definitely did not go skimpy on the toppings; the Marie Laveaux boasted more crab meat than I would get at an actual crab boil and the Chicken Fresco was piled with big chunks of perfectly grilled chicken. The crust is on the thin side here, crispy and charred on the outside to stand up to all those toppings, but still soft and chewy as you bite into it. The appetizers are great here too. Our table split an order of the spinach dip with fried eggplant wedges and boneless hot wings. Honestly though, I'd skip the apps and go straight for the pizza. No need filling up when greatness still awaits! Deano's is centrally located, so it's just a short drive from just about anywhere in Lafayette. So, whether you're a student at ULL looking for some grub, attending an event at the Cajundome, or spending the day shopping at the Acadiana Mall, great pie is just a hop, skip and jump away. Regardless of the reason that you are in the Heart of Acadiana, DO NOT leave until you've been to Deano's! It's been my favorite for years, and I guarantee that it will be a new favorite for you as well! read more

My favorite pizza place in Lafayette. Every time I visit I go there. I get a whole wheat personal 8 inch pizza with jalapeños and bell peppers and for dessert try to fried Oreos!!! Very good!!!! Dean-Os has good pizza, but it's not as good as Pizza Artista, BJ's Pizza, or Central Pizza. Dean-O's is also too expensive for the quality and quantity of food you get when you could easily get more for you money at one of the above mentioned places. In addition, the owner disrespectfully and un-apologetically states "white lives matter" which ostracizes much of the community that I love. I have not eaten at Dean-O's very often ever since these new, superior pizza places popped up, and I am now going to especially avoid Dean-O's in support of my community, at least until the owner can show respect for ALL of the people of Lafayette. read more

My first time ordering from them ordered off Waitr super disappointed because the dough wasn't cooked in the center the pizza was thin so it couldn't have been hard to fully cook it. Burnt spots all over and under it smelt like throw up and didn't taste like barbecue at all. I think the cheese had to be expired they had cheddar cheese and mozzarella on it but it tasted sour. My review has nothing to do with the quality of food, the service, atmosphere, or cleanliness. For years I have been eating here and have had zero issues with any of those things. The issues is the operation of the business. When my husband and I went eat here he had water and I had a soda. I had one refill which I drank half of. The bill showed a full extra charge for the soda refill. I can not remember the last time I was charged for a refill of a fountain drink. My husband and I were not sharing it and the drink had no alcohol. The next issue I had was the surcharge for using our debit card. I looked online beforehand at their website and yelp and neither mentioned the additional cost. We sat and watched a steady line of people walking in for pickup orders and the restaurant was almost full the entire time. They are very busy and I can not imagine the restaurant not having money to operate their business. Many other businesses absorb the card charge cost. There are plenty of smaller, less established businesses and restaurants that do not pass this on to the customer. We would have brought cash had we known. With the lack of transparency and geeedy business practices my family and I will choose somewhere else to eat moving forward. read more

I will be brief and to the point on Deano's. Their pizza sucks, and If you think that it's good, then it's obvious that you've never had a real pie. I have, in at least 100 places in NY, NJ, PA, CA, TX, FL and probably 15 other states. I've even eaten pizza in Italy. This stuff bears no resemblance to even a good pizza place, and NYC has one on every corner of the city. If you want to try a decent pie in Lafayette, try Sbaarro's in Acadiana Mall... now THAT is a slice of pizza. read more
