We do not order pizza for delivery much (nor do we frequent pizza places) because honestly the pizzas are overpriced for what you get. Even with paying for added toppings, there is very little of it on the pizza. We like thin crusts, and while the crusts are usually OK, that does not make up for the lack of toppings. I saw an ad for this place and also read some of the comments. Pretty favorable, so we gave it a shot via delivery. We ordered the Stallion and the Garden Delight. Both delicious and loaded with toppings! This is how pizza should be. The crust was not "thin" but was thin enough and actually crispy (which is what we like about "thin" crusts). Fresh ingredients and just delicious! Not overpowered by cheese (but more than enough). The pizzas remind me of an old chain in this area called Godfathers. It had mountains of ingredients on its pizzas. We have found a pizza home for the family! read more

Can't review the food because we walked out before anyone would serve us. We got to the restaurant at about 3:30 and watched several servers pass or table and not even acknowledge us. We even heard one server ask another if they were going to take our table and they said "no." So he came and took our drink orders but never came back to the table. About 10 minutes later a server came to the table and she said she just started her shift and asked to take our order. I declined and we walked out. Avoid this place. I don't always think to go here when I'm thinking pizza, but honestly every time I go I am happy with it. It's amazing how much meat comes on their pizza. So much in fact that it all falls off and you have a second meal of meat, which I've never been a huge fan of because I want it on my pizza (my dad and son disagree with that though). BUT YESTERDAY my husband added cheese on top of the pizza and GAME CHANGER! All my second meal of meat stayed on the pizza! I love their crust too. It's thin but perfectly crispy and deep. So very different from your standard crust. I also got the chicken Parm salad. I will say it's just chicken lettuce and mozzarella lol BUT so good! Their salads can feed a hungry family of four. We had the cheese, pepperoni and crawfish etouffee pizza take out. The cheese pizza: Had a great amount of cheese and was cooked very well. However, the sauce was nonexistent. The whole 16 inch pizza might have had a teaspoon of sauce. This cause the pizza to become very dry as it cooled. The Pepperoni: Again, great flavor on the pepperonis and good amount of cheese. The lack of sauce caused the pizza to be dry and bland tasting overtime. The crawfish etouffee pizza: This was a decent pizza. I will probably not get it again. It gets cold too fast and would prefer to get a bowl of etoufee and dip cheese bread in it. read more

I've been sitting on this review for a while now because honestly it's one I don't want to write. I am normally a fan of family owned businesses and definitely support locally grown ones, but JJ's just didn't do it for me. I've been here a few times now for the pizza and once for a shrimp poboy. Let's start with the pizza. While they don't skimp on the toppings, they are way below par on the crust and the sauce. I love a good thin crust and theirs is thin, but almost too thin. It was flavorless and was overcooked both times I tried it. It had burnt air pockets all over the top layer and tasted like cardboard. Not good. I love tomato sauce. When done right it's one of my favorite parts of a pizza. I normally get extra sauce to put on my sauce, that's how much I love tomato sauce. Well, JJ's apparently doesn't like the sauce because there is a thin-barley there-like almost an afterthought- amount of sauce. So little in fact that I could not even taste it. I was reminded of the old Wendy's commercial but instead of wondering where the beef was I was thinking, "Where's the sauce?" The shrimp poboy. Ok. This was just strange. I love a shrimp poboy even if it's not earthshattering. I mean when you think of a shrimp poboy what comes to mind? Fried shrimp, lettuce, tomato, mayo and pickles, right? (I always add ketchup and hot sauce to mine, too but that's another story) But really. Fried shrimp, tomato, lettuce mayo and pickles. Not hard to eff up even if its not the holy grail of shrimp poboys, right? JJ's shrimp poboy is just strange. It's basically those tiny salad shrimp (not fried either, boiled maybe?) that come in Chinese fried rice drowned in a thin mayo based sauce with big chunks of celery slapped on poboy bread. Like a shrimp salad you'd get at a salad bar. WTF. Um, that ain't no shrimp poboy. And no where on the menu was it indicated that you'd be getting a seafood salad on bread instead of a legit shrimp poboy. I'm sorry, but JJ's definitely missed the (shrimp) boat on this. Quite literally. There's also a drive thru here but it's a joke. If you're at the window waiting on your order you'll be instructed to drive around again if a car pulls up behind you. Um, what. Ok, so a truck pulled in as I was waiting. I drove around again and waited for five full minutes to get back up to the window. My sandwich was still not ready. Guess what? A car pulled in behind me and I was again instructed to pull around once more to let the people behind me WHO ARRIVED AFTER ME get their stuff first. I mean, maybe it was a call ahead order but they had no way of knowing that or if they were just placing an order at the window like I did. (There is not a speaker/call box-just the window) This time I waited 7 minutes (I was watching the clock as I had somewhere to be). I would have just left but of course had already paid for my joke of a poboy along with a tip. Never again. read more

The best pizzeria in town! The staff is very knowledgable about the menu, the drinks are great, and the restaurant is in pristine​ condition. Rarely ever have I been to a restaurant where the bathrooms are extremely​ clean. In my experience in the restaurant industry,​ any place that has a clean restroom so is the kitchen​. I'm pescatarian​ so I will only eat certain things. I boldly went with the waiter's​ suggestion once she was made aware of my diet and was overwhelmed​ at how awesome the pizza came out. This place is run amazingly. We are frequent fliers and we've seen them on good days and bad and they're always on top of it all. i actually really enjoy the food every time i go to Jj's. The pizza is wonderful, nice crispy crust and sandwiches are great. Lots of flavor in the food. Unfortunately, the service is SO SLOW, it really makes it hard to enjoy the experience. I've been multiple times and each and every time, we remark on the ridiculous amount of time we have to wait for our food. I work a mere 8minutes away but a 1hr lunch turns into a 1.5hr lunch anytime we go here. Great food... but don't go if you're in a hurry and don't expect awesome service. read more

I'm not impressed at all. I think the only people who like this place are the family and friends of the owners. It's that kind of place. The pizza is average at best, I've gotten soft, uncooked doe more than a few times. Pizzas aren't being fully cooked, heat is to high, the top cooks faster than the bottom. Service is average if even that. Mostly kids on their phones. It only deserves a second star because the atmosphere is pleasing and the drinks with appetizers is somewhat enjoyable. read more

This is a disgrace to Italian , American Italian, and most importantly the Lafayette/ Broussard area. How this establishment has been in business for 10 years is beyond me. I must admit the service was ok... But the food.... It's all frozen, store bought grossness. It really bothers me that with all the great food in Lafayette we struggle with Italian. Why? We really like the food at JJ's and have been going here for a while and often, but in the past month we have gone a few times and the food is always missing something. The person at the pick up window should inspect the food before it goes out to make sure it matches the ticket. When I do go they are never busy, so there's no reason I should be receiving my food half missing like it was rushed out of the kitchen. read more
