We had DeAnza come out for a termite inspection, the man that came to the house was rude, misogynistic and only spent about 5 minutes inspecting our home. He kept talking around my questions and wanted to make excuses why our house passed a termite inspection in June and we were having a huge termite problem in September. When I asked questions he rudely told me he was happy to talk to my husband and answer any of his questions. As you can imagine living in So Cal, you get your fair share of ants and spiders. And that is a no-go for me. When I bought my house in 2009, it was bank owned and tons of bugs. Been using these guys now for 4 1/2 years now and have never had an issue with them. They always call a day before they come and do your pest control spray. They came out to do a small (no cost) localized inspection for termites which I thought I may have had due to the large amount of insect droppings I saw in an electrical outlet in a bedroom, but after the inspection, they told me that it was cricket droppings, which was a big relief!! We used De Anza for both the house we just sold, and the one we bought. They were very reasonably priced and easy to work with scheduling. When the house we sold needed a step repaired, they came out and did it so we wouldn't have to worry about fixing it ourselves. We've used them already on the new house to come out and spray for bugs; we've found a few more since then, but I called De Anza and no problem, they're coming back out. Completely impressed with this company! Our realtor recommended them for a second opinion when we bought our house. The seller's termite company was very minimal in their work recommendation even though it was clear there were serious termite issues present. Thankfully DeAnza was pretty aggressive in their treatment and rightly so! Unfortunately, we had subterranean termites return this spring so we called DeAnza back out. As you can see from the pictures, the termites came in through the window sill and wound up eating through much of the wood in the wall. I was really nervous about what the wall would look like once they put the drywall back in and patched the wall. I'm happy to report their work is flawless!! There is literally no trace that any work was ever done on that wall! I'm so pleased with DeAnza that I will recommend them to anyone in need. read more

Not a good experience! The lady that called her inspector a misogynist in a previous review must have had the same guy as me. Could not find any termite damage, so he beat the heck out of some wood till it fell apart and voila, we have wood rot! He was entirely condescending when I questioned him about the work that needed to be done. Was charging close to $400 bucks to replace 3 small pieces of wood. No Way! Found a guy to do it for $100 bucks. RIP OFF! Beware folks. read more

User Be Warned I should have reviewed Yelp before using these guys... Only reason for a star is the inspector, David, solid. No problem with him and his portion of the inspection. However, as one contributor mentioned, they will find items not associated with the termite report, i.e. dry rot, record it, not sign off unless it's repaired, so your stuck unless you start over. $500+ later. The actual work itself..., well, you decide if you want this done to your house, buying or selling. In reviewing the tent on the house the next day, I was shocked to see how much damage to the foliage they created. They required at least one foot, not three feet for the tarp. They decimated the landscaping with intent and without care. Plants will grow back, but regardless they could have taken more care. In addition, a couple of items in the house were tossed on my neighbors front lawn, despite the outside trash can was closer. A bunch of tie clips, those used to hold the tarp on, were laying crushed on the street in front of my house, which were obviously driven over by passing cars. I wouldn't be surprised if they pissed in my pool while they were at it. Today, I'm picking up the cigarette butts they tossed in my backyard and for this reason I am writing my first Yelp review. They can suck one. read more

I'm a home owner who used DeAnza in order to sell my house. I had no problem with the actual termite inspection. Since DeAnza also does wood repairs, there was some drywall damage noted in the report as well as a water stain on a ceiling surface- both of these were not related to termites, however since they were included in the report, I had to have them repaired in order to sell my house. The water stain issue caused a seperate roof inspection and an extra $575 roof repair not related to the stain on the ceiling. So, bottom line, use DeAnza if you don't mind spending extra money repairing non-termite issues. read more

I had them come out to inspect some termite droppings on my porch, my inspector was professional and polite. He found the entrance holes and to my relief said it was a minor infestation. Great, to bad minor doesn't mean inexpensive (to be fair I am tight with a dollar). As a person who grew up with termites, I can remember the yearly spraying and a tenting or two. I learned the cost of waiting was much more. I paid the minimum for a service call ($350) and after about 45 minutes he had sprayed the holes and was done, he offered to paint the spots he worked on but I had no touch up paint for my house. Only time will tell on how good the work was done but for the moment I have no complaints. read more

We asked DeAnza to come out for a termite inspection. The lady who made the appointment was very nice. She told me since our home had been "tented" for termites a year ago, there was probably no need for an inspection which I thought was very honest of her; however, we wanted an explanation for some mysterious droppings outside our home. She made an appointment for a specific time...not a 3-4 hour window.....and the service man was right on time. He was efficient and answered all our questions about the droppings. We weren't excited to learn a bat was enjoying the stucco on our front porch but we were thankful we had no termites. I will give them a call next time I have a need for their type of services. I had an appointment form De Anza Pest control and the day they were to come out the secretary called and said the tech had an emergency and that they have no other. We have a bad case of ants. I think this company is way to small to cover our large city. They only have 2 techs and try to cover the inland empire. They need t ocover a smaller area and service their own city with quality and not try to cover what they can't serve. read more

A Very Happy Ending!! This is a standup company. We just sold our home in Carlsbad. Not only have we spent the last 28+ years modifying the inside but the same amount of time turning the almost 1/3 acre into a tropical/jungle paradise. There is no question the landscaping was as much of a selling point as the inside renovations. Our real estate agent hired DeAnza to conduct the Termite/tenting work prior to escrow. This company worked around the recent extensive rains to complete all necessary work in time for close of escrow. Both the buyers & sellers completed a walk through of the house & grounds after Termite repairs were done but prior to the termite tenting. The landscaping was pristine at that time. Sadly a seller walk through after the tenting was removed revealed crushed/uprooted/ trampled plants well outside the tenting area. The damage was photographed & sent to the real estate agent. This information was passed onto DeAnza. DeAnza was equally upset & informed all the tenting was done by sub-contractors......an industry standard...... DeAnza sent apologies & a check to cover the cost of repair & restoration of the property. Thank you & kudos for your honesty, integrity & concern for your reputation. Please use DeAnza. read more

De Anza termite was chosen by my realtor during the sale of my house. Unknown to me was the work they do/have done is sub-contracted. There is a serious lack of communication between the De Anza office staff and the subcontractors. The timing for the fumigation was given to me as 10:00am - 12:00 pm today, 8/16/16. They showed up at my house at 8:20 am. This was a huge issue because I had several items in the house that still needed to be moved out and another contractor that had to be called to readjust his schedule for the work he was coming to do before the 10:00 am scheduled start time for the fumigation. This is unacceptable. I called the office to tell them I was unhappy and they were to check things out and get back to me. What they have decided to do is give me $50.00 off the fumigation price. This is rediculous. I would not recommend DeAnza to anyone, knowing they subcontract their work and then don't stand by their word and I do not think $50.00 is the appropriate way to handle my complaint/concerns. read more
