There are some places that you should go to the back room or bathroom before eating there. First impressions were not good so I should have trusted my instincts better. When we arrived there were no tables so I thought that was probably good. Until the people finished literally had to shout and flag down someone just to pay. Sign says wait until we clean tables to sit. So we waited. And waited. I think the owners son was the one delivering food and cleaning tables. He didn't have the sense to wipe the table and kept calling back to the back...mom....mom. After waiting too long, someone finally takes our order. Not sure how you mess up a breakfast order but they didn't get it right. Then I had to use the restroom. Absolutely gross. How in the f$&@ does a restaurant have a license to sell food with such filth anywhere in the establishment. Ridiculous. If they don't clean the bathrooms I can't imagine what the food prep and kitchen area must be like. I also am not one to leave bad reviews very often as I know it can affect peoples business but I have to post bad reviews when the owners deserve it. Whew. Bad bad bad.

This is a tough one to say, I am biased since I have been coming here since I was a child. None of the recipes are the same. They tried but are not. So it's hard to rate. They remodeled the store since the sale. Prices are incredibly high. Our server was nice though so that was a positive.

    Biscuits and gravy combo

I visited Debra's Place for breakfast. The dining room was very humid with a noticeable smell, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable. The biscuit was light and the sausage gravy had good flavor. The eggs were standard, the hashbrowns were well seasoned, and the sausage was fine but not memorable. Service was friendly, but not particularly memorable. Overall, the food was average and the presentation was lacking. With improvements to the atmosphere, presentation, and food quality this spot could be much better. For now, it's a convenient stop for locals, but there are better breakfast options within a short drive at the same price point.

So yes, it's a three star place but in the GOOD kind of way. It's an old school diner, very small, in a Florida strip mall. The menu isn't overly large with breakfast and lunch items served until they close in the afternoon. While I considered a cheesesteak as a post-drive to Fort Lauderdale treat, my friend and I split the pancake breakfast that came with two kinds of meat, eggs, two pancakes, toast and a side dish for around $11. It was plenty of food. The servers were friendly and efficient. My husband will love its "hole in the wall" charm and low prices, so we will return for sure!

This place is good for in a rush. I heard owners has changed. The staff is always been attentive and friendly. You do get quite a bit for the amount you pay. They do normally have a breakfast special. The food is pretty good, it's a greasy spoon type of place. There is always plenty parking in the plaza.

The pancakes are the size of hubcaps. I don't think there's much else to say after that. Really good food, generous portions, but a staff that's not very friendly. Still overall, as long as the foods good, it doesn't matter to me about anything else. Also, get there early and prepare to wait. It's a very small place.

Delicious French Toast n huge pancakes. Jimmy has a great spirit!

12:30om, 3/18/2026…read more Ambience = Steady, lunch crowd in the bar. Yet not phonetic or chaotic. Good, chill vibe. 4-5 high top tables for two. At the bar- nice personal space and hooks for purses. Nice place to perch my feet and store my obnoxiously long golf umbrella. Perfect atmosphere for a chilly, rain date lunch with spouse. Balance of business professionals, "ladies who lunch", and a few couples. The bar reminds me a of nicer Las Vegas resort hotel bar. One TV showing Golf TV. Food = We've eaten at J.Alex since their soft open moons ago. The dishes are always consistent quality. Today hub's was jonesing for a French dip. I was craving their Nashville hot fried chicken sandwich. We both order their shoestring fries. We're slowly enjoyed each other's company and our lunches. We immensely enjoyed our meals. Service = Good. Our bartender didn't offer his name, and we weren't on our game to ask his name. However, he did a good job. He quickly came over and put down black napkin placemats with napkin rolled utensils and offered water while we skimmed the menu. Beverages were served quick. Food order quick and complete. We never had to ask for extra sides as he brought them all out with the meals- ketchups (If you like an abundant serving, ask when you place your order. They use small 2 oz stainless steel ramekins.), horseradish sauce, a side of blue cheese (to dip my fries in ), and my Nashville hot sauce on the side. Check came quick too. We ask and learned that they do not offer a Happy Hour. However, they offer very large pour martinis with a side car waiting for you for the price of one. He said late afternoons they have very happy and loyal regulars! We've been dining at "J.A." since their soft open many moons ago. They have always offered well trained staff. We've been here as parties of two, parties of up to 8, and as times with infants, to toddlers, to elementary school age peeps to seniors who many need a little extra consideration with seating. J.Alexander's has always offered great service. However, for some with low vision may find the back of the restaurant a little dark. Bathrooms are clean. There is an outside, screened over bar area as well. My extra bullet points: Value = Yes! High quality, consistent food, great staff and fair price for the experience. The BIG question: Will we return? Yes! We are every other month "regulars". During COVID, they were able to pivot their business to keeping their doors up keeping people employed and offered service to the community. HIGH GIVE! We'll be back. Cheers! Tip: Be sure to make reservations especially during holiday weekends, PGA golf classic weekends and "Season" for tables. If they're booked, Bonefill Grill is directly next door as "back up". Get there early for parking as the lot fills up fast for dinner with several restaurants sharing the same lot. Perfectly located between 95 and TPK, for family dinners if coming from PSl or South county or Broward.

We were able to put in an order for drinks (I just had water) and the cheesesteak eggroll appetizers. I didn't get a photo of them because they were all gone before I could. They were cheese and hot. There was a good amount of meat inside of them and they were good. I ordered the chicken caesar salad wrap and it was huge and I had to take half home. It was very tasty. It came with fries as well which came out hot and fresh. My daughter had a steak sandwich which she said was delicious and really enjoyed. She also took half of the sandwich home since she was full. They had comfortable seating and there were TVs around to show sports that would be playing. The lighting was a bit dim, but after being out in the sun we didn't mind that at all (but it can be seen in the yellowish color of the food photos below).

I found them to be refreshing, well-balanced, and easily one of the highlights of the meal. For appetizers, we ordered the short rib sliders. They had good flavor, but unfortunately the meat was a bit overcooked. Our entrée, the Wagyu steak noodle bowl, was an improvement, although the noodles seemed like they were left sitting in water too long, leaving them softer than they should have been. I wouldn't say the food was bad, but it also wasn't memorable enough to make me eager to order it again. The real standout was the atmosphere. Tap 42 has a lively, inviting ambiance that's perfect for a relaxed lunch or meeting up with friends. The biggest reason for my 4 star rating, however, was our server, Nicole. She was friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel welcome throughout the meal. Her outstanding service elevated the entire experience and turned what could have been a 3 star visit into a solid 4 star one. Great service can make all the difference, and Nicole certainly did.

We drove around until we found a spot in the back of the parking lot. There were a few people waiting as we walked in. The delightful hostess advised it was a 15 minute wait so we went to the bar and sat right away. The friendly bartenders took our drink and food orders. I got a lychee cosmo which looked and tasted amazing even without an actual lychee in the drink. My husband settled on one of the IPAs recommended by the bartender that wasn't too bad for a gal who despises beer. I ordered the highly coveted poke nachos for my entree and hubby got the fettuccine Alfredo. The tuna looked and tasted delicious. I did have to take most of the Serrano peppers off as they had my mouth on fire. We watched old music videos on the bar TV and reminisced how packed it use to be on weekend nights where you could barely walk through the restaurant. Overall it was a grand time. Great service, drinks and food. Trip down memory lane well served.

A manager brought a few dishes to our table. Just as he started walking away, I said, "Sir..." Nothing. I said it again. Still nothing. The third time, I said it louder because I know he heard me each time. He finally turned around and responded with, "WHAT?" in a very nasty tone. Excuse me? I simply needed his attention and this was the response. That's not how you speak to a customer especially as a manager, the person who should be setting the standard for hospitality. I later asked our server what his name was, without explaining why, and she told me it was Ed. Ed clearly needs a refresher in customer service because that interaction was completely unnecessary. I really should report my experience directly to corporate office just because of how unnecessarily nasty this man was.

From the sweet pretty blonde hostess to the server and the staff, it just feels like there's an energy there. I also don't usually get into food. I'm not a foodie - I'll spend a lot for a good meal, but I generally don't get too excited about many restaurants. I'm excited about this one. if you're gonna go there for 1 meal, get the MEXICAN STREET CORN and the CHICKEN AND WAFFLES. We always get the corn and our server even gave us little wet naps to clean up with (clutch). And I absolutely love their CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES - three warm large chocolate chip cookies and a glass of milk which was only maybe $10? Crazy - I've also heard happy hour is amazing but I work and can never get there. This time I got the SEAFOOD SAUTEE and it was one of the best seafood dishes I had. Looking back, I'd recommend asking to replace the potatoes with shrimp if you can. They were so good. Our server Natalia was great and said the shrimp is from Argentina.. My wife had the PORK COLLAR - I thought it was good but I didn't think it was as good as my seafood. Our daughter had the burger - really solid and she couldn't finish it. Bonus for Dad. The last thing I would say is that this place isn't gonna be for everyone because it's noisy - probably because the bartenders serve great drinks! There was one woman at the bar that was laughing incredibly loud (uggg) but the staff couldn't have done anything about that. If you want to go there and have a really quiet sort of like laid back meal or you get triggered easily or something - SIT OUTSIDE. Otherwise, you're gonna hear music, people talking, laughing, and having fun. That also makes it great for families - we had a couple of kids sitting right beside us. So this is one of our favorite restaurants now in the Palm Beach Gardens area. Highly highly highly suggest you check it out get but GET A RESERVATION - this place is busy. I hope this helps!
