We met at my house the next day to review the scope of the project and quote the job. Jacob met me exactly at the agreed upon time. Their quote was reasonable and we agreed to move forward. So I put it out on home advisor to get some pros and had the first 'pro' come out to look. Simply said "it's our capacitor how much to replace it" and he refused to listen and said we needed to replace EVERYTHING (mind you my husband and I are recent college grads and don't really have that kinda money). He refused to just slap a capacitor on to prove if I was right or not and said a sales rep will be back Tuesday. It was a nightmare (no heat in our house when it dropped to 30 overnight). Had a wonderful friend recommend Classic so we called them and they came this morning. Instantly said "yup it's your capacitor, let me slap one on and make sure it didn't hurt your motor too". That cost $110 as it is under the 10 year warranty, which, given there have been constant problems for 6 out of the last 7 years since 2 units were installed in 2019, was okay, or so we thought. About a month later, the condenser fan for that same upstairs unit stopped spinning, so when the tech came to assess the situation on August 1st, he stated that the coil needed to be replaced due to a leak, and that it would cost $2900 to repair with labor, which occurred 3 days later on the 4th. During the repair, the tech was constantly on the phone when he should have been focused on his job, and bragged to the person he was speaking to that he was the best tech Mondragon had. For starters, people great at their job don't brag about it, but what does that say about your company when the unit goes out 2 weeks later which it did today, on the 21st due to the condenser fan not spinning yet again with lukewarm air coming out the vents? Mind you, after the coil was replaced on the 4th, just 3 short days later the downstairs unit stopped working. When I called to relay my frustration, the rep I spoke to took notes of what I had to say, and stated she would send my info to a service manager, who would call me back shortly. I heard back shortly alright, but via text where it was relayed to me that a tech could come out.........in 3 WEEKS, the second week of September!!!! They claim it is due to being behind and being short staffed, but come on. My mother is on Social Security, she CANNOT AFFORD TO SPEND HUNDREDS OR THOUSANDS EVERY 2 WEEKS WHEN THE UNITS STOP WORKING!!!!! There is NO guarantee when it comes to their labor, please folks, go elsewhere and DO NOT let your hard earned money go to waste!!! Shortly after, they sent an automated spiel text with [Customer Name] indicating they will no longer provide services at my mother's address, before they sent that same message a second time with my name in lieu of [Customer Name], indicating other people have had similar problems with their company. They still owe my mother the back half of the annual maintenance for the winter tune-up up and refuse to answer phone or messages. They are that sensitive, and rather than address the customer's needs and concerns as a reputable company would do, they resort to juvenile grade school tactics proving they are not worthy of your business. That said, I do wish them all the best as well and hope they learn to treat customers better in the future rather than dismissing them and saying it is a problem on our end instead of owning up to their mistakes.
