I have been here twice. The first time was fine. Not fantastic, just fine. The selection and food quality is about par for the course. This place lost a star because on my second trip to this place we had the absolute worst waiter. We were one of only two couples dining in the restaurant. The place was nearly empty. There was one woman who was waiting on the tables. I asked for a low sodium soy sauce. She chatted with the other couple in the restaurant for at least 10 mins before returning with the soy sauce. Our food had come and I had already gone to another table across the restaurant to get my soy sauce by the time she returned to our table. It was incredibly rude. My go to sushi place for about 4 months now! They've never made any mistakes and always have my orders ready on time. Best tasting sushi!

The first thing to note is that my experience here was definitly WORTH 4 STARS. The reason I decided to give it 3 was given the fact that under normal circumstances, it would be worth 3 stars. The sushi here is pretty decent with the fish being of fair quality, and the craft having an even blend of uniqueness and averagness. The New Orleans roll was my favorite because the unique blend if ingrediants gave a colorful palate as well as a switch up in texture. The Nigri and other fish heavy sushi was decent, but nothing to save about. The real reason my experience was 4 stars was due to the fact that the Wednesday deal or lunch special all day is a steal. My buddy and I got 34 pieces of sushi for 20 bucks before tip. This included only specialty rolls as well, so there wasn't any california roll, philly roll, or crab roll used to make the meal more filling. Overall, I would only come back for lunch or on Wednesday for the special because I truly did enjoy the sushi, but only worth it with the deal. read more

Unfortunately the restaurant smells very strong of sewage. I saw one review from 8 months ago stating the same thing, but I hoped it was a fluke and was fixed. Not so. I took a leap to try this place, and it was one great decision. The sushi tasted so fresh, which I did not expect. This place is a BYOB and that makes it even better, knowing drinks are normally the most expensive part of a meal. The ceviche in this location is so amazing!! My husband ordered 3 rolls and he received them all. Meanwhile I was waiting for my ONE roll and finally asked what happened to my ONE roll. The waitress said the chef must've not heard her so she put the order in again thus I would have to wait another 7-10 mins. Didn't want to wait after already waiting 20 minutes plus my husband was pretty much finished with his meal. Good sushi is hard to come by around here...until now. First time here but I will be back. Went for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Lunch menu has several offerings for $10-$12. That's 2 or three rolls and an app! I got the New Orleans and rock &roll combo with hot edemame. The beans needed salt but when the rolls came, I forgot all about that. Fresh, handmade and excellent. Honestly, ignore the bad comments. The lunch specials Mon-Friday are AMAZING. $10 for 2 rolls and an appetizer? I'm sold. The food is outstanding and in comparison to the local competition (Little Tokyo) their prices and flavor is so much better They have other daily specials on top of the lunch specials as well. read more

We leave the house at 7 go buy sake show up and they are closed because according to the manager it was slow so they sent everyone home.... After reading the recent reviews I figured I would give this place a shot. When I walked in it was fairly busy. Due to their loud music guests were talking much louder than one would expect in a restaurant just to be heard. It had a club vibe that wasn't appealing.This should have gotten me to turn around immediately, but I figured I wwoul tough it out and not be the lame guy that I really am. I really really wish I had left. I ordered the mixed appetizer plate and rainbow roll. The appetizer plate was horrible. The egg rolls were mushy and gross. The crab cheese puffs were flavorless. The Gyoza, which traditionally is made with pork or shrimp was made from chicken and tasted bland. All of this was served with what I assume was supposed to be a sweet and sour sauce. It too was gross. The roll was beautifully presented and looked very appetizing. However the fish tasted old (not inedible, but old) and was room temperature. I ordered the super shaggy and the wife ordered the baked fury roll. Both were amazing. I love sushi and I've lived in Deer Park a long time. My "go to" spot has always been Little Tokyo, even before they made it all fancy. I also like Red in Kemah. We had lunch at Deer Park Sushi for the first time today. I ordered "A", which was a California Roll, Shaggy Dog, and a Seafood Tempura seaweed wrap, all for $10. It was all well-prepared and delicious. I couldn't eat it all. Wait staff is very friendly. Evic, the chef, came to our table and listened to my feedback. They need miso soup (they're getting ready to add 3 soups to the menu) and hot tea. He was very gracious about it. Ambiance is great. I'll be going back soon! read more

I was here a few weeks ago and had a wonderful shrimp tempera roll. I ventured out and tried some of the nigiri pieces as well and didn't quite like them as much but that's more on me.
