Rick and his team have been instrumental in getting our 2006 Jayco RV with Duramax 6.6L diesel in top running condition. If they have -5 star I would give them, this shop they don't know anything about mechanics. They're a punch of idiots working there. From their owner to the service manager. Careful guys all they trying to do is to emptying your pocket.. And they keep asking you to buy parts to replace it for you with out knowing what's the problem. I drive from the NW valley to have my Diesel Ford Excursion serviced and repaired here, even though I have tried two dealerships much closer, I chose to have all of my work done on this truck by Rick and the Crew at Deer Valley Diesel. I like that Rick is always straight with me about the costs, and the best options for the repairs, and when I have read about something online and asked his opinion, he can tell me why it is a good idea or a bad idea based on experience with it in the past. Last year we had a major repair / service done, and while in the shop the mechanic did the required factory updates from Ford to the computer as well. The upgrade they did and the repairs they did were an effort to have the truck run better in the winter time, and it did, unlike the dealerships efforts, we made it through this winter's cold spot too, and the truck has been running strong, and no rough start in the mornings!!! I have called in from out of state with a question on a service light while on vacation, and Rick put the Ford trained technician specialist who has worked on my truck on the phone to talk through the likely issue, and we resolved it on the side of the road just like that, he was spot on with his telephone diagnosis and repair for me in that situation over the phone. I love that whenever I call the shop, the phone is answered by someone capable of helping me, I have never gotten a recording or voice-mail. I love that everyone I have ever interacted with at ths shop has been professional and courteous. I love that I don't have to worry if they put oil in my rig or that they left something loose. On the shelf I see name brand parts, filters and fluids, and I am always reccomended top quality parts / repairs by Rick, and the crew. Even though I am an ASE certified mechanic, with a pit, and capable of doing a lot of my own services and repairs, I trust the crew here completely, and that is rare for me. I even had them do a general service for all of the fluids on this rig recently because I was just short on time to do it myself before we took it on a long road trip, and it was done to my satisfaction without issue! The door is unlocked but they told me they are supposed to be closed they did work on my truck and my check engine light came on but can't run a diagnostic on it real quick. Rick is not like any crook you've probably ever met in your life. After my bank returned my funds for him taking almost $1,200 out of my account for having his tech look at my truck and not fixing it, HE CHARGED MY CARD AGAIN! This is the absolute worst place to bring your diesel. Rick is a liar and a complete rip off artist. How this place stays in business is beyond my comprehension. He demands the money up front and never completes the work and every time you ask when your vehicle will be done "a couple more weeks" is his answer. Horrible service..said my mint condition 2008 Dodge 3500 less than 100,000 miles. Took in for manifold gasket which was $1500 and left there and within 3 days my motor was blown. This had to have been set up for profit. This business is full of scam artists and rip off artists who create problems and want more money. Do not trust them. Then they tried to hold my truck for ransom. I got my keys back from them and drove off in black smoke to get it fixed properly. read more

These people at best are incompetent; their actions made my diesel run worse than before taking it into them. I'm seriously concerned about the long term effects on my truck based off of them even touching it; to think I even paid for such a thing!!!! I took my motorhome to Deer Valley Diesel because I had a fuel leak. They were very efficient and knowledgeable. They found the problem and fixed it for a reasonable price. They took the time to explain the problem and how they solved it. I felt very comfortable with this establishment and will return for oil changes etc. read more

On 7-02-2018 I took my motor home to Deer Valley Diesel because the dash A/C was not blowing cold air. On 7-06-2018 they called and said the coach was ready. They said the unit was over filled with oil and had a bad O-Ring. They replace 6 (six) O-Rings, purged the system and refilled it with 2.5 gallons of freon and said the system was blowing 60 degrees at the vent. They charged me $727.38. On the way home, the air coming out of the vent was no cooler than when I had taken it in. I subsequently took my motor home to Anthem RV. They found that the system should have taken 3 pounds of freon and was under filled. The system would not take addition freon nor would the pressure equalize in the lines when turned off. Anthem RV determined that the "expansion valve" was malfunctioning and wouldn't adequately circulate the freon. After replacing the valve and recharging the system with 3 pounds of freon they had a temperature of 49 degrees at the vent. On 7-20-2018 I sent Dan an email at Deer Valley Diesel expressing my displeasure and feeling that they owed me a refund. As of this date, 10-08-2018, I have not heard from them. My Chevy Silverado's transmission was running at 220 degrees. I brought it in to DVD. Within a few hours they changed the transmission fluid and filter and the temp dropped down to 180 degrees. Perfect! I will be back. read more

The "P" must be silent on the owner's name Rick!! I broke down and they told me to use their tow truck service or one that they use. I should have known better. I already had one lined up and couldn't call it off. Anyway... when I get there the "on-call" guy knows nothing about diesels! Really?!! So, I get charged a callout fee and spend $125.00 for nothing. 4-5 hours pass as I'm trying to figure out how to fix the pickup in his lot, and Rick drives by. He does get the pickup running and down the road but with a temporary fix; but I'm on my way. He ends up charging another callout fee (only his is much higher), parts and labor. I end up paying another $403.00 on top of the $125.00 I already paid. I know if I protested he'd have just charged me more, so I "bent" over and took it just to get out of the 109 degree weather and out of Pheonix. read more

Never again. Quoted me a price and told me 2-3 hours of labor... wouldn't know until he looked at it. Never called me to ok the additional hours, just handed me the bill for an additional 2 hours at $125.000 an hour. Got three estimates before taking it to him and they were all between 2-3 hours apart but they gave me hard numbers not estimates. He said it was harder than he expected so that's how he justified the extra hours! I guess I have to pay for his lack of experience. Wish I could run my business that way.....sorry folks, it was a lot harder than I thought so I'm gonna charge you more than the proposal.....yeah...that would work,right? read more

This place will skin you alive! I took my 2005 dodge diesel to them to have a 6 speed manual transmission rebuilt and the transmission will not shift into gear if the temperature is over 90 degrees. I took it back 3 times and the only thing I got was "I will have to talk to my transmission guy. They will create problems for you,they took the nut off the turbo clamp so the exhaust came apart. Also they loosened every nut and stud on the exhaust manifold so the further I went the less power I had, lost 2 studs. They are quick to get you in because they run good customers off. Took them two weeks to come and take a look at my bus and after that two more weeks to give me an estimate and that just because I decide to go and get my heads back and close any business with them and they charge me for 190$ for service call and one hour of labor, what labor????? read more

This shop is by far the most incompetent shop i have ever stepped foot in, not only did i have to work around a schedule of one employee in there shop because he was a specialist on my make of vehicle, only to have them tell me that it would not drive out of there parking lot that i drove to 20 miles away. Secondly they were unable to duplicate the problem with my vehicle which does it under load and had informed them of this problem and they assured me that they would have no problem diagnosing it. There solution was to take performance parts off of the vehicle and test it still to come back without any problems which have existed for 4 years under load. then they chose to tell me that they were assuming that it was a part and would gladly fix it for over $3000. Told them i was not comfortable paying them for there services as to they did not diagnose anything with the problem and they told me that in order to take my truck out of there shop it must be paid. Let me respond to Rick if your tech was there at 4 am he really was moving slow to get the job done as you were called at approximately 6:30 pm cst which would mean 4:30 pm your time. As well 30 years experince should tell you blue tip wrench will cure the whining about frozen bolts. 44 miles did he drive around the city to get there. Sir I assure you we ar ewnot hard to please do the job right and charge properly for what was done no problem would have given you a high recommendation. Obver charge do the job wrong and be beligernt on the phone about billing inquireis and you get one star or less. Rick you are correct your reputation does preceed you if I had chance to read the numerous reviews I have read since I would have looked else where to get this job done.
