First of all our waitress was a younger brunette and she was super pleasant and down to earth (not snobby at all!). We were there on Monday for a private event. The private rooms they have are a little strange in the fact that you have to go through one private room to get into the other one. That being said, Del Frisco's is probably my favorite of all the chain steakhouses in Pittsburgh. The bread is warm and lovely, the ribeye so flavorful, and desserts are delicious. We tried this out for the first time on Valentines Day. Upon entering, we never realized how big of a space this is. There are multiple levels of seating along with a bar. When we walked in, we were promptly greeted and asked if we had a reservation. We were checked in immediately and taken to our table. Our server was very attentive to us throughout the meal as well. Being that it was our first time there, we didn't know what to order. We had seen a valentines dinner for two special, but we couldn't find it anywhere on the menu. We ended up finding something even better in my opinion. There was a dinner tasting for two that included two apps, four entrees, two sides and two desserts. What an excellent deal so we could try more of the food. Everything came out perfectly. One thing we noticed before going was it said upscale dress code strictly enforced on their website so, just to make sure, we dressed in button downs and dress pants. We don't mind because it is fun to get dressed up for a nice evening out. As we are dinner though, we noticed they really don't hold true to that because some people had ripped jeans and we saw one guy in a ball cap. Also the music selection was a little odd for Valentine's Day. As we were there it got louder, but the music was more rock and club vibe instead of something more subtle to set the ambiance for the evening. Came here for an anniversary dinner. Everyone was so friendly and we got a dessert for o ur anniversary. The food here was excellent. The sweet potato is a must order side. So yum! The drinks were big for the price which was nice. We got the sushi appetizer and oyster Rockefeller. The oysters were delicious. It's hard to find good oyster Rockefeller and these hit the spot. Del Frisco's is one of my favorite restaurants downtown. Staff is always marvelous, to include the waiters. We've dined here two times and have always had pleasant visits. The first time we dined here for my husbands birthday, he received a happy birthday letter as shown in the photo signed from the staff which was so kind! As for the food itself, we had the lobster which was delicious! Very fresh and perfectly cooked. We've also had their steaks which have also been cooked to perfection, highly recommend their aged steaks. Their drinks are also very good. So you can never go wrong with anything you get from the bar. And you cant forget the complimentary bread which is to die for! Me and my husband always inhale these and are so full to finish our main courses that we have to take everything else to go. Thus, overall great restaurant with great food whether it's their entree like their calamari, shrimp, or wagyu meatballs, their main dishes or deserts. Everything is delicious! We happened to have reservations here during restaurant week with another couple, and boy was it out of this world! We started with drinks at the bar. We all had the signature cocktail, The VIP. It's an orange vodka infused with pineapple, shaken so well that it creates the most amazing foam on top of the drink. It was so smooth and delicious. Our friends have been here several times and gotten to know the assistant GM, Matthew. He came to check on us at the bar and was the one to seat us as well. He had our server, Jake, bring over a few apps on the house. I forgot to take photos but they brought us the Wagyu Beef Meatballs and the spicy calamari. The calamari was hands down my favorite. They also bring warm bread over to every table. This was the only thing I'd say was just okay. But no loss on my end, I wasn't there for the bread. Since it was restaurant week, we all decided to order off of that menu. Everyone had filet, except me. My husband added the mushrooms to his. He said his filet was cooked to perfection. He thought the mushroom portion could have been a little more generous but still delicious. I had the ahi tuna and holy smokes! The sheer amount of tuna was incredible. It was so incredible. And it came with two sauces, one that was kind of like a wasabi mayo and the other was a bit sweeter. We also ordered the lobster Mac and cheese and the Twice Baked Truffle potato for the table. They serve the sides to you, which is so nice. The truffle potato is one of the best sides I've ever had at a steakhouse. I also had a dirty martini with blue cheese olives with dinner. For dessert we all ordered the butter cake. It came with a scoop of ice cream on top with I think a caramel sauce. The outside of the cake was nice and crunchy and the inside was the perfect consistency. I love texture in my good, and they nailed it with this dessert. My friend ordered hers with berries. Two of us had an espresso martini with dessert as well. It was equally as delicious to all of the other drinks that night. The service was second to none. From Matthew welcoming us to Jake treating us to apps and being incredibly attentive and fun. The whole vibe of this place is enjoyable. It's modern, clean, and elegant. Food & Drinks: The signature VIP beverage, pineapple-infused vodka was refreshing. Waygu meatballs were juicy and the sauce wasn't the typical marinara; crab cake was hot and fresh, great accompanying sauce; house salad had a creamy avocado ranch dressing, topped with two thick slices of bacon on top of fresh and nutrient greens. We ordered bone-in ribeye and New York strip--both cooked perfectly and not overly seasoned or salty. Mashed potatoes were fresh and delectable, and the broccolini was cooked al dente. We noticed as the main entrees were passing us and portions were bigger. Also sides are at an extra cost of $15-$25. We were greeted and the service was good overall. The place was pretty but we would recommend moving tables if you're placed by the bathroom. People would walk by and cough and we could see inside the doors as they opened. I've been to Del Frisco's twice now and every time it's great. The steak is amazing and they cook it perfectly! I got mashed potatoes as a side this time and wow were they good. Their bread is very different and unique compared to other steak houses. It reminds me of a sweet roll, so delicious! The service here is what I think sets them apart from other restaurants. The service is outstanding! I was looking at the wine menu and the sommelier saw this and came over asking if I had any questions or wanted any recommendations. We went for a restaurant week and the menu was pretty decent. For a starter, we ordered a beef carpaccio which was not on the restaurant menu and it was just OK. The horseradish sauce that accompanied it was pretty strong, which I liked, but the meat was cut not as thin as I would've liked and it was pretty large pieces which made it hard to eat. The restaurant is beautiful with three floors. My husband got the wedge salad which was good and I got the crab cake which was a $10 up charge from the restaurant week menu. I got the Ahi tuna as my main entrée and my husband got the double cut pork chop. My Aji tuna was a little on the rare side and it was kind of chewy. I was not expecting it to be that large. My husband's pork chop was cooked nicely and it was huge. The service was good but we didn't get checked on as often because it's restaurant week and it was busy. Also, they give you bread with your meals, but I've had way better bread at other steakhouses that are a lot more delicious. The dessert we had the butter cookie, which was phenomenal. read more

For my last day in Pittsburgh I decided to walk around downtown and look for a joint I've never been to. I saw a piano player through the window and suspended my search immediately. To me, there's no better combination than food, drinks, and music. When said music is live, even better! I was greeted at the entrance by a very polite gentleman in a suit and I asked if the bar top was first come first serve. He said yes and showed me to an open seat. A bartender immediately greeted me with menus and I started with an old fashioned. While he was making that, another bartender walked up and asked me how I was and if I was being helped. I said all was well then I confirmed that the musician was in fact playing Aaliyah's "Are You That Somebody" on piano. We then had a brief conversation on how the 90s were the last great decade of music. When the bartender arrived with my delicious, superbly executed cocktail I decided to order the New York strip with fries. Look folks, I'm from Texas where steaks are a way of life. A place where we are taught how to grill before we are taught how to walk. That said, I'm convinced that Del Frisco and his staff have to be from the lone star state. The steak was perfectly cooked, the fries were outstanding, and the complimentary bread was incredible. We have eaten at Del Friscos in 5 other cities, so we were stoked that the Pittsburgh site has opened. The atmosphere is pretty cool--but I agree with some reviewers that the music was a little loud (not the vibe my in-laws would want). I assure you--there is NO DRESS CODE. Some of what we saw was gym attire or ripped jeans--disappointing. I am not a stuffed shirt--but for these prices--have some class. As for the food--WOW! The Caesar salads were delicious and a good size. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and buttery tender. The chateau potatoes were excellent and the strawberry hibiscus cheesecake was unique. The other downer was the time it took to get each course. For a place that employed that many people, they need to do a better job of running food. It took more than 20 minutes from the time we ordered the cheesecake until we got it at the table. It was so long the server apologized and told us it was complimentary even before we had to say anything. Hopefully, they are just working thru some kinks. Honestly one of the tastiest steaks that I've had in a really long time from a steakhouse. We arrived and were promptly and pleasantly greeted by the staff. Traffic was bad so we called and told them we would arrive a few minutes late for our reservation. We were told they were running a little behind, so we decided to get a drink at the bar. There were many people eating at the bar, but the bartenders were super accommodating and even walked our drinks around to us so they didn't have to reach over the people eating - nice touch! The wine by the glass list offered some nice selections without being super expensive selections ($17-25 per glass is a steakhouse is a great value!). When we were taken to our table our server, Erdem, was extremely pleasant and helpful. We were not rushed in anyway and he was happy to let us enjoy each course thoroughly. We had calamari as an app, shared the Del's salad and the burrata to start. The calamari was done perfectly and both salads were tasty! For main dishes we shared the filet with truffle butter and crab, the sea bass and the salmon. Each were done perfectly! For sides we enjoyed the broccolini, truffled twice baked, and creamed spinach. I literally order cream spinach at every steakhouse and this was the BEST I have ever tasted. We had a lovely selection of wine and finished our dinner with salted Carmel espresso martinis. Great meal and service. The restaurant was bigger than I expected and very pleasant. We went to the pre-opening for this new steakhouse in downtown pittsburgh. We started with the seafood tower which was truly amazing and the king crab legs were definitely the best. For dinner I had the prime rib eye which was cooked to perfection. My dining partners had the lobster tail and the dry aged ribeye. Everything was served as ordered. There are a lot of gluten sensitive items on the menu. Drinks are a little pricey but a nice pour. Great atmosphere and a nice welcome addition to pittsburgh. Upon arrival, I was greeted and was told our table would be ready in a few minutes. I took this time to look around the place. It is surprisingly large for the space it is in downtown. Finally got to try Del Frisco's which has been on my list for some time! This is in my opinion one of the better steakhouse chains in Pittsburgh. For one, the ambiance is top notch. The bar area lighting and vibes are sophisticated but comfortable. They also had a live musician the Friday I was there who was very good, and I appreciated that her music volume wasn't too loud so that you could still converse with others. This restaurant has multiple levels and seating areas. Our server was very attentive. They have a good wine and cocktail menu. We tried the steak tartare appetizer which was great. We split the dels salad which was tasty and easy to share, and the lobster bisque was 10/10. I ordered the ribeye Oscar style which was delicious. We also got a side of truffle butter for the table which was yummy. For sides we had grilled asparagus, creamed corn, truffled twice baked potatoes and lobster mac.
