The first time in Philadelphia my wife stood up and hit her head on a pipe hidden by drapery. The second time was also in Philadelphia. I was eating with my family and they never brought out my meal. They gave me my steak to take home but the point was to eat with my family. Last night I tried again in Pittsburgh. The fried lobster tails were overbreaded so much that there was no lobster taste. Edited - the copy paste comment that whoever is handling social media for this restaurant seems to put on every review that is not great actually serves to make the diner feel even less heard. Ambiance is a 5+. Appetizers were delicious (that smoked salmon French toast) and we were off to the races. Our server was friendly and charming. Cocktails very good. Steaks - ugh. Ordered med-rare plus (which means between med-rare and med). Came out rare. Sent back to be re-fired. Came back with the same steak cooked med-rare-ish, with the pieces of fat and gristle I'd already cut off all crispy and burnt on the plate - why? To me a steak that cost $60 should have been redone from scratch, not thrown back on the broiler. But oh well, it is what it is. They comped us dessert - a nice touch. The desserts were really good. The butter cake was delicious. The chimichurri add-on that cost $12 for an ounce of sauce never made it into my to-go bag which is a bummer - at about $200 a pound it was four times the cost of the steak if you're talking volume. A steakhouse that can't cook a steak to temp, as pretty as it is, isn't a place I'll probably be revisiting. Eddie V's across the hall has better steaks, and it's a seafood restaurant. read more

Came for our wedding anniversary on a Saturday night. Pros- Seated promptly and in a comfortable rounded booth that was a great view. Our server(s) were all great and very attentive. The menu was explained and we were asked about any allergies which was helpful. We had one cocktail, shrimp cocktail app, petite lobster tail, 2 filets, the trio of sauces and the brussel spouts. We were given a wonderful complimentary dessert and also ordered lemon sorbet. We also used the $12 valet Cons- Dress code not in effect at all. Steaks a bit salty like I read in other reviews which was a bit strange THE MUSIC. There was a live singer in the ave whosea singing was blasted through the system into the dining room. I think we may have found our new favorite steakhouse in the city! Del Friscos just opened up recently, and it is instantly a classic! I have been to their Philadelphia location, and my girlfriend's aunt has been to their Las Vegas location, so we wanted to try it here! Every single bite was incredible! We started with their bread service with honey butter that literally melts in your mouth. Then we moved into two salads (from the tasting menu): the Caesar salad and the tomato burrata. If I had to choose one, I would go with the tomato burrata every single time because of how fresh it tastes! For the entrees, I took down a 12 oz filet and we all shared sides of potatoes, lobster Mac and cheese (which is a must get), asparagus, and corn. All of the food was incredible, the steaks were the highlight tho (as they should be) and cooked perfect to asking with a very nice crust. We ended the evening sharing the butter cake, and taking the chocolate mousse to go (which I can say is also incredible). I told myself I would only have a bite of the butter cake, but after looking at the empty plate by the time we left, I was lucky I didn't order a second! My sister and brother-in-law rave about Del Frisco's in Chicago so I was excited when one open in Pittsburgh! It did not disappoint! Went with a large group on a Friday night and we all had a fantastic time. We made reservations about 3 weeks in advance. Those of us that had cocktails enjoyed them - I really enjoyed the Espresso Martini. We got calamari, waygu meatballs, and oysters as appetizers. Each of us got a steak and we shared steamed spinach (SO GOOD), lobster mac n cheese, and twice baked potatoes. The chocolate mousse and butter cake were excellent as well. The restaurant is rather large with plenty of seating and some private party areas. The noise volume was on the louder side, not that I minded, but not necessarily an intimate, quiet experience you might expect from a steakhouse. Our server was attentive and knowledgable. The staff served the side dishes for you which was a nice touch. They offer valet parking for $12 and there's parking decks within walking distance nearby! As far as a Landry's restaurant goes, this is their best stuff... unfortunately they are basically putting makeup on a pig. No matter how pretty the dining room is and how many guests you tell to take off their hats - the high prices do not match the quality of food served. To start - I put on the reservation it was a birthday dinner for our friend and they never acknowledged that - Eddie Vs next door never misses those details Honestly the biggest wow factor was their sweet bread served with dinner - they need to change this place to Del Friscos Double Eagle Bakery since the bread outshined the meat There was nothing special about the meat - it was edible aaaand not that bad. It's just for that price I'd expect juicy tender smoky meat with perfect seasoning and that happy-satisfied feeling when it was all gone. Didn't happen... A cool looking place. Great Gatsby vibe. Good cocktail and wine list. And wonderful deserts. We were there for holiday party. I was called "miss" three times. I know I am a pretty man with longer hair, but for a place that styles itself as "upscale" I would expect that your staff be aware of pronouns. My wife ordered a side dish and only served her a small portion and then took the crock away while others got the entire crock of potatoes. The food was way over seasoned. I am aware that meat loves salt, but this was ridiculous. I had the sea bass and it was over salted. Others at the table had steaks that were inedible. The accommodations were wonderful. The crab cake was just ok especially only receiving 1 for close to $30, the meatballs were good because of the sauce. My shrimp were like the shrimp from Bonefish. The au gratin was just ok. Now the calamari was delicious especially with the Asian sauce. Not sure if it'll be somewhere I'll need to return to for something specific. We chose to go there to celebrate Valentine's Day. We were not treated like we spent over $300 for, what we think, was a sub par dinner. We were seated at a table that was put up just to accommodate extra people on a holiday. Our table was in a row of other tables in front of booths. We were directly at the steps. It was loud, cold and uncomfortable. When our server took our payment, he never even came back to thank us or ask if we wanted anything else. Everything we ate was good - Lobster Mac was a bit on the neutral side of seasoning, probably playing it safe. Parking was a bit understaffed but post Covid has struck everyone. Plenty of table space, modern clean interior. We were genuinely looking forward to dinner last Saturday night at Del Frisco with our friends. We had heard wonderful things about the restaurant from our friends. Unfortunately, it was very very disappointing. First, they wanted to see Das next to the piano player. My friends are 85. We wouldn't have been able to talk to them at all. After taking us upstairs to a booth, we ordered drinks. It took over 30 minutes to get the drinks. We placed our orders and received our salads. Within minutes they were sending over the appetizers we ordered even though we weren't finished with our salads. We sent them back. When our main courses came, our plate with lamb chops fell off The server's tray. When we finally got our new lamb chops they were all fat, no meat except for the edges. The best food was the dessert. A very unfortunate experience. read more

Phenomenal dinner. Del Frisco's is a cut above all the other high end restaurants. From the lobster appetizer to the fresh oysters to the succulent and tender NY strip....everything was some of the best Ive ever had in my life. I had a NY strip and added scallops. My friends had the Chilean sea bass and surf and turf filet entree. Ty, the GM, was constantly ensuring a truly enjoyable experience. We went with another coupon for dinner last night, the service was outstanding, the food on the other hand was not. I have had a better steak and sides at longhorn than the food I consumed last night. 4 of us left spending 1k and went to McDonald's to have a late night snack because we couldn't even finish our steaks or seafood due to how terrible it was. No flavor, ribeye wasn't even cooked to the point of the fat becoming chewable after asking for it to be cooked to the chefs preferred temperature. The sea scallops were tough and definitely didn't taste like diver scallops. The king crab on the seafood tower was so strong and fishy tasting I figured it was probably the last of the box and old. Definitely in my top five worst dining experiences. At this price point there are certain levels of service and quality that are just a given, none were met. I had to request every beverage refill i received as did my table, and others at the table were never even able to make drink or dessert requests as the waiter was very hard to catch the attention of and when i did i felt as tho i was disturbing him from his other tables. My steak was fine but i've had better..actually my first bite was all fat which was shocking, asparagus was bad, cream corn no better then the can my mother makes and seasons, lobster bisque was great Bathrooms were over flowing with paper towels and not maintained to a level of a 4 star restaurant The wall that ran along our table is where the staff stored silverware and glassware and dirty dishes(not concealed or hidden) to which there was constant traffic, at the end of our table seemed to b where all the wait staff gathered and hung out, also not fine dining And this part i do not post lightly or without sincere thought and commitment..i am caucasian but most of my table was not..our waiter seemed to b off but i didnt think much of it until he was seated another table beside us. Our table had 7 the next table had 6 or 7. The attention he gave to the all caucasian table next to us was so ridiculously above and beyond ours. One of our guests wanted to order another drink and he refused to acknowledge him and i left my $160 meal feeling embarrassed, disgusted, disappointed and a little sad to be honest. They had a beautiful staircase, i told my niece who is 31 not a little girl to let me take her picture on the stairs, her response was i dont think im allowed??!! My wife and I ate here on 12/9/23 for what we thought would be a nice pre-Christmas night out dinner. Unfortunately, it wasn't anything to write home about. We had a waiter, Claudio, who didn't seem to care at all about us. In fact, I actually had to look at the bill to see who it was because he didn't introduce himself prior. No personality, radio silent almost. Both my wife and I worked in the restaurant business, so we have a good idea of the rights and wrongs of the food industry. He got us our drinks initially and that was about it. He then proceeded to whisper the food specials to us and disappeared for another hour 10-15 minutes. We finally ordered our meals. About ten minutes later a nice food runner with a smile brought us our appetizer and we ate and didn't hear from 'ol Claudio again until we were done. Never asked how it was, never came to check on us. A bit later, I needed another drink and my wife had to tell him she wanted one, too. He got out drinks again and that was about it for the rest of the night. He came back once more to say that the kitchen was as backed up and it might be awhile for our meals. It wasn't too long, but our steaks came out by another food runner about 10-15 minutes later. Claudio, no where to be found. Typically after 2-3 minutes the waiter SHOULD come back to see if our food was done correctly. Nope, not Claudio. We both ordered different steaks to be prepared medium, but both were rare. Never once did anyone nor our waiter come over to see how the food was. Claudio didn't check in on us at all until about 20-25 minutes after we've already eaten and we're ready for take home containers. I'm sorry, but if you're paying this much, this service was outright terrible. After he gave us dessert menus we both just wanted to leave. I asked for the check and he came back never once asking how the meal was or anything. The bill came and at the bottom of it said 15-20% was the normal rate to tip. There's very few times I don't give a 20% tip, this was one of them. Why am I giving someone 20% for not doing much of anything. I'd rather tip the food runners 20% than this guy. So he came back after running my card and just sat it down. Did not say anything. Not even "have a good night, thanks for dining with us. Come back, again! Nothing. Even though this place is a chain, I would expect better service. Literally everywhere I looked the other waiters and waitresses had smiles on their faces, but not Claudio. I don't like calling bad service out, but after the amount I paid for this meal I feel it's only fair. Also, this place is extremely loud. You have to yell at the person you're sitting next to in order to hear them. In the end, go somewhere else. Many other restaurants in the city that are better than this place. New favorite steakhouse in town! Here's my take on steakhouses: if I'm paying 5x+ the cost of ingredients, it all has to be cooked perfectly and the service has to be on point. it was and then some! It got off to a good start when my wife and I realized that our waiter was our favorite from the deshants restaurant group, Michael. They're very lucky to have gotten him! Went here before a pens game and it was very crowded on a Thursday night, but we were seated for our 5pm reservation immediately even though we were 15 minutes late (sorry!). We were dressed pretty casually (pens jersey and a hoodie), but no one said anything and we didn't feel out of place even though most of the tables were coming from work in suits/dresses. The bread service is a Japanese milk bread with honey and salt. It's SUPER fresh, airy and buttery - huge fan. We ordered: Wagyu beef meatballs: these were REALLY good quality meatballs with a small slice of Fresno chili on top which would be spicy for many, but we loved. Shrimp cocktail: colossal shrimp served chilled with cocktail sauce and a mustardy horseradish sauce Seared Chilean sea bass: perfectly cooked over a bed of crab fried rice Filet: cooked perfectly. "All the sauces" was a great addition We skipped dessert. The server had multiple cocktail/wine recommendations, all of which were fantastic and paired great with our meals.
