I love Del Taco, and the food here is good. However, this is an oddly managed place. I've been here twice in the last four days, and both times, I've had to wait at the counter well over 5 minutes to just have my order taken. Several employees walked past me repeatedly without so much as a "someone will be right with you." Del Taco is one of those fast food places that satisfy my tummy when it's hungry. This branch on Rosedale Hwy is fine. Service has never been bad here, and the dining area normally clean. Food has not been bad either. I do not have any favorite menu item at Del Taco. Although I do not have any standout food recommendation, I can say that Del Taco offers good food at affordable prices. Came here just before the lunch rush to wash up and order a little grub for the road. While in the restroom, there is another female in there - who after doing her business, proceeds to the sink area same as I - flips her hair around (while I wash my hands - oh, yes I do), fidgets with her teeth and outfit, then walks right out the door - in front of me - and proceeds to head behind the counter and start right off, MAKING FOOD - WITH POST-TOILET, NON-WASHED HANDS!!!!!!!!!!! SAY WHAT???????? I try discreetly to inform the manager, who in turn proceeds to call over the girl - accuse her in front of me of not washing her hands! The girl protests, saying "I did, I did - and I used hand sanitizer!!" (which by the way, hordes AS MANY germs along it's dispensary nozzle as a damn toilet) - the manager turns to me and indicates that THE EMPLOYEES DO NOT NEED TO WASH THEIR HANDS since they have hand sanitizer behind the wall (out of site of the patrons). I was there for an hour trying to get food. They didn't get my order right, I went back through the drive thru to ask for a refund because my tacos were already soggy. They claim they couldn't refund me for the whole order, but just for the food that was missing. UNACCEPTABLE. My tacos were completely soggy and ruined by the time I got home with it. This review isn't about the service or the service staff. The drive through line was full and several people in the building and service was fast, friendly and courteous. My order was perfect. Nothing missing. My issue is with the tamales that are being sold this holiday season. When you see the commercial, the tamales are packed full of meat. Sometimes it's "cash only" for whatever reason & I'm starting to figure out that it's only when a certain crew is working. The lady working the drive thru tried to pull a fast one & not give me back all of my change. This Del Taco is hit and miss with the DT customer service. Yesterday around 4:45 pm, the woman taking the order was definitely a miss. We stated one food item (a Cali Steak burrito no sour cream, easy pico de gallo), had to repeat it twice (I understand it can be hard to hear on the headsets), but then she asked if we would like any drinks and when we said "No" she just gave us a total ... ugh, we still have more food to order ... So we ordered our 3 additional items, she sounded incredibly annoyed, repeated our first item back wrong - again (forgetting to leave off the sour cream), asked AGAIN if we wanted drinks. We corrected the incorrect item. She just blurted the total, we gave up, hoping maybe she had it correct and pulled to the window. Thankfully at the window a man repeated our order to us, the first item was still wrong (had sour cream), he took it from the bag and quickly had it corrected before handing us our food, which was delicious and we devoured like savages in the car. read more

The main lady today on Sept 4th who handles the drive thru took my order and gave me an epic cali beyond burrito and it had cheese. she swore that the burrito already comes with cheese but after she makes me PAY for a whole new burrito, I get home and look it up. Watcha know doesnt come with cheese. So i WILL be getting reimbursed with free comida or some moolah i dont care. All i know is that people at this del taco dont care about their jobs really. This was my second visit to this establishment against my better judgement only because my husband is in love with there Carnitas Burritos.. Last time we ate there I became so sick with diarrhea being a retired nurse I knew that it was due to someone NOT washing their hands handling food I consumed. The ONLY food I ate that day was you guessed it was a Carnitas Burritos from Del Taco When we visited Del Taco 10/13/19 @ 8:30 pm, I observed the food prep-per making tacos, burritos etc, without gloves then proceeded to wipe his hands on his shirt (no apron) than start to clean all the left over food on the prep table with his hands then again wipe his hands on his shirt & start making food again ..I told the counter girl hey he needs to put on gloves and that is totally disgusting.. he put gloves on.. my husband who has a "cast iron" stomach got his Burritos, me NO Thanks..as we sat so he could eat.. the same prepper was back to his habits of making YOUR food without gloves, & cleaning his food area Any comments? read more

Stopped by on a Sunday around 11am. My husband and I each ordered 2 tacos, no special requests. After waiting more than 20 minutes to get our food (only 2 other diners in the restaurant) the tacos were awful. My "soft" tortillas were like cardboard and my husband said the ground beef in his tasted "off" so he did not eat them. As far as fast food goes, there isn't much you can say. However, this Del Taco is the best in town. They are friendly, clean, and food is always fresh.
