Came in to try their pistachio latte and get some work done. The workers were absolutely amazing very patient and quick. The pistachio latte was delicious and creamy but very sweet. I also got the pistachio milk bread and my friend got the pistachio cheesecake. The milk bread was okay. The cheesecake had that fridge air taste like it had just been sitting in the fridge for too long. Wasn't a fan, but I'm sure the other flavors maybe would've tasted different. The reason for the three stars is that first and foremost the bathroom had no tissue or soap. And I had the absolute worst time connecting to the Wi-Fi and so did my friend. After multiple attempts of restarting my computer and forgetting the network I could not connect to the Wi-Fi with actual signal. I would connect, but there would be no Internet or there would be Internet, but it would be extremely slow to the point of taking five minutes to load my Gmail. I ended up just using my hotspot which was little inconvenient. All in all I would return for the drinks, but I wouldn't stay to get any work done. read more

This is such a cute cafe with a nice Turkish coffee but the service needs major improvement. The server was very friendly and atmosphere was nice in general. Unfortunately, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND SEARING FOR HOURS as people just go there to just sit on one coffee to work on their laptops and don't care if people are waiting in line. The management does not do anything to help you get seated even if these people are not eating or drinking anything for hours and just sitting there. As you see in the photo, we had to stand by the counter to drink our coffee. I would not visit again if they don't solve this problem. I've been here twice to study, and I've had their rose latte, rose milk cake, and Dubai refresher. Everything was delicious, and the staff are very friendly. I highly recommend everything I ordered. There are outlets scattered amongst the coffee shop, and there is free wifi. The decor is beautiful, and it's a nice place to study. The music is a little loud if you're trying to study so be sure to bring some noise cancelling headphones if you want quiet. read more

I told the cashier that my sister was allergic to nuts and asked if the pink turkish delight had no nuts. He told me it was pomegranate and coconuts which is fine for her. I even asked him to grab the ones NOT TOUCHING the pistachio turkish delight so she wouldnt get a reaction from it. But the whole time he was very nonchalent about everything even making me feel like he wasn't listening to even what coffee I wanted. After I got both my coffees I had to ask them for my turkish delights (because he forgot to get them when I asked for it) and I'm pretty sure he forgot what I requested because of my sisters nut allergy and ended up grabbing one that was touching the pistachio one... Brought the turkish delight home and my sister ate it, got a reaction right away and later she noticed very tiny crumbs of nuts in the to go box. She had to take a benadryl right away. I heard a lot of great things about Delah Coffee's SF location. I am super stoked they finally opened up a Oakland location! So this is a Yemen bakery/cafe and the desserts here are so good. I tried the rose tres leche cake, and my god it's so good. If you ever had the indian dessert: Ras Malai, it tastes really similar. That distinctive rose flavor with a bit of saffron with a super moist cake. I want another slice! The slice is on the pricier side (7.95). There is plenty of seating inside, plus free wifi and tons of outlets. This would be a pretty good work or study spot. It does get a tad busy, but when I went on a Saturday afternoon there was still plenty of spots to sit down. read more

I've been meaning to check this place out and so happy I did. I didn't realize it was in the old Starbucks location and so thankful for that too. Some real coffee and culture! Everything was delicious. The rose latte was perfection. The cakes were moist and even better than I imagined. My kids loved the smoothies. I'd give a 5 star but the only thing lacking was cleanliness. I would have liked to see the back area maintained more. My kids and I wanted to sit back there but when I went to get a seat I was turned off. I drove 20 minutes to check them out and I'll definitely be back. This place is a serious treat! Their rose latte is beautifully fragrant and creamy. Their pumpkin spice latte is so perfectly spiced with their own blend of aromatics. I've yet to try their specialty Qishr, coffee husks boiled with ginger and cinnamon, but am eager to indulge. But wait... they're not just about coffee, they have awesome refreshers like Pink Socotra, rose & lavender shaken with mint. The list goes on and on. And of course you have to try their treats. Terrible customer service. I am 100% sure that I asked for an iced latte and my mother was on the phone and heard it too. The employee made it hot and when I politely told him that I asked for it iced and asked him to fix it, he snapped, "You didn't say iced" and refused to put it over ice which is really not that hard. The best coffee I've ever had! Yemeni style coffee is so good, I'd highly recommend their iced latte with extra sweetness. It's so tasteful and will keep you on a caffeinated buzz all day. The coffee has a tinge of cardamon, spices and brown sugar. Combined with milk and coffee it's an explosion of good taste. I've been to the SF location several times and can say the quality in both cafes in equivalent and exceptional. The drinks are consistently great, service is wonderful. The only downside is limited seated and difficulty finding parking. This coffee shop is more of a hangout place then somewhere to study. The noise level is high and the tables are too close together. A surprisingly fun find! After meandering the roads to find a place to work and study (somehow reliving the old college glory [?] days) for our group of four, a classic Yelp search yielded this result. Important for the computer experience - a place to sit down WITH WIFI. We made an erroneous decision prior to finding this place because we forgot to add the latter, extremely important, qualifier. Delah serves up Arabic drinks and desserts in Oakland. They do have a wide range of menu offerings, and as we had just had coffee, we grabbed one of their chilled Hibiscus tea and a Turkish Delight. The tea is very tart and not very sweet - it was actually quite refreshing during a hot summer day. The Turkish Delight is super super sweet, and they do give quite a large portion, so getting it to split is definitely advisable. I would also recommend getting a drink to pair with it. There is a nice orange flavor to it, and although sweet, a bitter coffee or sour tea will balance it out fairly well if you take it slow. read more

Lovely new Yemeni coffee shop in Oakland - loved the ambience, coffee and pastry! Beautiful space to hang out - we went at 11am on a Saturday and there was space to sit. Tried the rose milk cake and latte. Latte was flavorful with spices- almost like masala chai version of coffee and loved the soft, spongey cake. As in any new establishment, dedicated 1 point because the service was slow (took me 10-12mins to get a latte) and I ordered rose latte but pretty sure I received the Yemeni one in my to go cup (more spices, cardamom, no rose flavor) which I had paid $7.95 for. This cute, warm Yemeni cafe is conveniently located in Downtown on Grand btwn Telegraph and Broadway. Compared to other cafes that usually close a bit earlier, Delah is one of the very (if not the only) cafe in Downtown Oakland that is opened pretty late. Great study spot -- there are outlets and wifi. The only caveat is for some reason .edu websites are blocked on their network, so you won't be able to access something like Canvas. I stopped by Delah coffee because I was in Oakland and it seemed like an interesting cafe to check out. I was just stopping by but the interior seemed very cozy and comfortable and a nice place to work/study. I got the Iced Dela Chai, Baklava, and Bee Bites. Service was quick and the girl who took my order was pleasant and answered my questions. The tea has a great blend of spices but the flavor isn't overwhelming. I was really surprised at how effective it was too! I had the drink around 4pm and it kept me up till around 2am. I want to get it again!
