My sister in law took my wife, myself and my mother in law for a mothers day lunch. It was not busy at all the place is really nice. We got appetizers to start off. We got the Mama Becky's meat balls and the crispy Brussels. The meatballs were ok I think they would have been better if they were hot and not just warm. The crispy Brussels were good but warm as well. I did like the sweet taste they had. For lunch I got the Grilled Cab Ribeye Sandwich with a side of fries. My mother in law got the Allen Harim Lemon Rosemary Airline Chicken Breast which they did say would take a bit for them to cook it. My wife had the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and my sister in law had the grilled Ham + Cheese. So the steak in my sandwich was really good problem with our food is that it was all just warm not hot. The fries were cold which they took to warm out but by the time the fries came back out we were done eating our food. So sadly it wasn't as good as everyone was telling me it would be. They did apologized about the fries but you would think they would have at least comp 1 of the drinks being that we didn't even enjoy the fries. But ya food wasn't hot enough to really enjoy probably because they were cooking the chicken BUT they could have waited to plate the food that was coming out first. read more

This place exceeded my expectations! We had the Blue Crab Beignets (Ridiculously Good) and Lobster Bisque (Could have been warmer but good) for appetizers. We decided to visit since we were staying at the hotel. They recommended making a reservation, but online said they did not have anymore available. I called and they said they were unsure why it was saying that, but they made us a reservation over the phone. We were seated pretty quickly. The staff were friendly. Drinks: we had the "do your thing 21" and the spicy margarita. The drinks were well made and strong. Food: We ordered the lamb lollipops as an appetizer and they were amazing!! We would return just for those. However, I think they're a seasonal item. We ordered the seafood pasta and the sea bass. They were really good! The seasoning did not disappoint. My fiancé said the portion size for the sea bass was a bit small, but he enjoyed the entree. The pasta has a little spice to it, but it was very flavorful. They also have a kid menu that isn't listed online. We ordered the chicken tenders and they gave a large portion size. They are definitely on the pricier side, but overall we had a good experience. Went here for a friend's birthday. There was plenty of seating for our large party of 12. We loved the local paintings on the wall mixed in with famous musicians like Freddy Mercury and others. The service was quick and the was nice. We started with the Mini Birria Empanadas, they were good, not the best I ever had, but these were tasty. I tried the Burrata and that was delicious! For our entree one of my friend's and I ordered the Allen Harim Lemon Rosemary Airline Chicken Breast. The chicken breast as cooked perfectly and was so yummy! We agreed the charred kale pesto taste was overpowering in this dish with a burnt charred taste. I tried mixing it up with the lemon sauce that was delicious, but the charred taste was still there. If I get this again, I would try to get it without the charred pesto. My friend did get a delicious hot brownie skillet with ice cream for her birthday and I had a bite and it was so delicious!! read more

There is no doubt that the food is amazing. We have been here for lunch and dinner. The salads were fresh and large. I ordered the shrimp salad and it had nice size shrimp that you could have grilled, blackened or fried. I chose the grilled and they were delicious. They even took the tails off which made eating them easier. It came with 2 sauces-peanut and sweet chili dressing. We both thoroughly enjoyed it. For dinner we started with the Brie puffs which were amazing. I ordered the Squid Ink linguine with scallops and shrimp. They left out the spicy sausage and it wasn't a problem at all. My husband ordered the salmon. It was very good and it was a large portion. This is a nice tavern that is in the Delaney hotel. The bar has rich woods and there is a nice back room for meetings and parties. Be prepared for a leisurely dinner because they don't rush you and space out your meal. This was unfortunately not the greatest experience, this was my 2nd time at Delaneys, the first time was just for drinks, and it was not bad at all. In fact their drinks are pretty solid, nothing to write home about but they were not bad at all. No for this most recent visit, i went for a birthday celebration in which we reserved the back room for a party of +20 ppl deposite was paid upfront to reserve said room. At some point there was a breakdown in communication and the event planner/manager, what every their position was, didnt not communicate to the Sunday opening staff about this reservation so when our party arrived there were was no where for our party to sit because the space we reserved was filled with other patrons. Which was simply unacceptable. Our party patiently waited until enough people finished and cleared out which then forced us to alter the timeline for our remaining plans for the day! The person in charge did his best to rectify the situation, there just wasnt much they could do to make up for how much they inconvenienced the group. Now for the food, with the exception of the crab legs which were actually pretty good and the shrimp po boy which also was good. Most of the menu was quite bland. A majority of the dishes just tasted like the ingredients being used, the was mot much blending of flavors or seasoning. The tavern burger was okay, the fries were solid, they were out of tater tots but it was not communicated to us until our dishes, which took forever, arrived at the table without said tots, the Brussel sprouts were soft and tasted like they were not cooked long enough. This was one of the best dining experiences we have had in a while, exceeded our expectations. We were able to sit outside which we love, even when the weather is chilly. There are plenty of fire lamps outside, which made dining outside in 60 degree weather very pleasant. We arrived without a reservation, on Valentine's Day (evening) but we were able to get a table about 15 minutes later. All the staff is very friendly and helpful. They were accommodating enough to allow us to move our table to the courtyard benches where there is a warm fireplace. It made our dinner even more intimate and quiet. We ordered the ribeye (cab) sandwich with Parmesan potato wedges, the French dip and the mahi tacos with lobster bisque (+$4 up charge for soup). Absolutely everything we had was amazing! We had a really wonderful time. I believe our waitress' name is Jess, she was so lovely! Met up for happy hour with friends and decided to stay for dinner. The service was wonderful and accommodating. We four ordered different salads, different types of drinks, and a couple sides. All four of us were very happy with our food. Three of us were happy with our drinks. When I had a taste problem with mine, the server immediately knew their twist on my cocktail was the issue and corrected it right away. All in all we each enjoyed this busy spot. But we did have some observations. The parking entrance can be difficult to navigate depending on your GPS and what direction you're coming from. This can be because of the road construction on Orange. We were also disappointed in the happy hour. Not only did it end early, at 6pm, but it definitely could be more robust, perhaps offering snack items or better pricing. read more

There was plenty of street parking close by on Orange Ave, and it's free to park on the weekends. We had a reservation and were promptly seated. The menu is a la carte and buffet. There are a lot of options on the a la carte menu and the portions are perfectly sized to match the buffet. I really liked the avocado toast from the a la carte menu and I had an omelette that was cooked perfectly. As for the buffet, there are a lot of options to choose from. The candied bacon was my favorite of all the buffet dishes. It was so sweet and crunchy. There was also waffles, peel and eat shrimp, beef brisket, crab legs, and broccoli soup. You can add on bottomless mimosas for $20 and they have several juice flavors to match with (strawberry, peach, mango, passion fruit and orange). read more

The parking situation looked confusing because no one was outside. The restaurant validates parking. The beautiful bamboo outside was an opportunity to take great photos, we were just so chatty and didn't take many. We split the mahi mahi tacos and seafood grits. Visited here for lunch on my birthday. It's a very nice place that is connected to a hotel. For starters, we had blue crab beignets and fried mushrooms with a wasabi sauce. Both were amazing!! Our server, Love, was absolutely incredible. She did a great job taking care of such a large group by herself. To drink, I got the old fashioned. It was nice. For my entree, I got the truffle and cheese ravioli. I added blackened shrimp. It took a long time for our food to come out, so it was luke warm when I received it, but it was good. The sauce was very rich and the truffle caviar pearls were a fun touch. The addition of shrimp was $8 and I felt like they skimped on the protein. Beautiful place with really bad customer service. We arrived exactly 15 minutes late for our reservation. They advised that the reservation was cancelled. Ok, that's on us. Do you have a table for four? Yes, it is outside though. That is fine, we had an outdoor reservation. Is there a spot with some shade? No, sir. You have to sit outside in the sun. Otherwise wait two hours for a table inside. That will not work out so we decide to leave. Looking forward to coming back. As we leave we see the outdoor seating full of Umbrellas for shade! Somehow I'd never made it to Delaney's Tavern. I really liked the place and wish we'd tried it sooner. It's now incorporated into a hotel across from the hospital. Parking is available in the structure behind it; just be sure to get a paper slip from your server so you can get out of the garage. The menu offers the kind of eclectic dishes I'd put on the menu if I owned a restaurant. We started with both the crab beignets and the arancini. Both were good; I'd definitely have the crab again. It's pretty large, so one app would have been enough for the two of us. My French dip was very good. I liked that the dipping sauce wasn't overly salted as it sometimes is. Pros: I love that they participated in Bite 30. We've been here many times for many Bite 30's and Magical Dining Month's. The food is always on point, and their arancini was perfect and very cheesy. Can't believe a place offered a French dip on their Bite 30 menu. I love the creativity. Their desserts are always changing, and their bread pudding is one of my faves. The appetizers were cold when they should've been warm ( ex: tostone was cold and soggy, although the tuna tartar on top was good; the brussel sprouts were tastey, but again- not warm). The main dish I ordered was the steak. Unfortunately it tasted strange. At first sight, it seemed to be cooked how I ordered it (medium rare) but it had a strange rubbery consistency and lacked any juices. I guess from cooking at too low a temperature- not sure? Finally, the bread pudding was mostly just a chunk of bread- no pudding. All in all, I would not return nor recommend. read more

The drinks were great. Definitely not a watered down drink, if I had two I would have been lit. For the appetizer we got the Arancini, which is like a croquette- BE CAREFUL THEY ARE HOT! I burned my whole mouth even though I cut it in half and waited what felt like forever. It was worth it though. I love scallops and was so excited for the dish. Unfortunately, the scallops were tasteless, shrimp were over cooked and idk who they thought the customer was but they tried it with the grits. It was more of a mushes rice than grits. I hate sending food back but with the price of everything, I cannot pay for something that doesn't hit the spot. Even the chef knew because when the waitress returned she advised that the kitchen didn't have their usual ingredients. I'm Black- I know what grits should taste and feel like. They did swap it for the short rib which was slightly over cooked but was way better than the first dish. Absolutely loved the pear ravioli, try something new.
