OMG! Stop what you're doing and go get lunch or dinner! DELICIOUS! and I've had Indian Auntie cooking!

Another tasty dinner with wonderful service last night. After moving in the girls for NAU move-in, we were all famished. After looking around downtown a bit and finding long wait times we decided to try our old favorite Indian spot that is sort of hidden away from the main downtown strip. We got in right away. Food came out steaming hot. We ordered: - Mango Milkshake (5/5) unlike a typical American milkshake that is extra thick, this is more thinned down and easy to drink and also very delicious with the fresh mango taste. Think of it more as a Kefir style drink in terms of thickness, but it doesn't have the tang of the yogurt in kefir. - TANDOORI: SHEESH KABAB - Spice Level 2 (3/5) Minced lamb, marinated in spices and skewered over red hot charcoal, served with mint chutney & onion. The lamb sounded really good so I decided to give this a try and it just wasn't my thing. It was a little dry and chewy didn't have the flavor I was looking for. Wouldn't order again. - DAAL TADKA Spice Level 4 (5/5) - Yellow lentils cooked into a thick soup with tomatoes and garden herbs. Delicious hearty and flavorful. My daughter ordered it as a spice level four which is perfect for her but a bit too much heat for me. - LAMB VINDALOO Spice Level 3 (5/5) Lamb meat cooked in hot spices with a highly seasoned gravy of potatoes, tomatoes & chili pepper. Always hub's go to favorite. - LAMB SAAG - Spice Level 2 (5/5) Lamb meat cooked in spinach & a mildly spiced gravy. my daughter loves lamb and she said this was delicious. I tried it as well and loved it. Tender chunks of lamb in a yummy gravy. - MURG MAKHANI / BUTTER CHICKEN - Spice Level 3 (4/5) - Tandoori chicken cooked in butter and special tomato gravy. My daughter's boyfriend said this is really good. I tried a few bites. It was OK, but I prefer the gravy used for the lamb. - GARLIC NAAN (x3) - Naan with a touch of garlic. Scrumptious. I'd come back any day just for this delicious naan bread. We saw on the window out front when we left that they have stopped doing their Sunday lunch buffet. read more

Delhi Palace was our first stop for food while visiting Flagstaff. We ordered the Chicken Tikki Masala ($16.95) and Lamb Tikki Masala ($17.95), both at a medium spice level, along with an order of Garlic Naan ($3.95) and Basmati rice ($1.95). Upon sitting, we were given a complimentary flatbread with a garlic dip, which tasted great. Next time I would order at a higher spice level. The garlic naan was especially good, and I definitely regret not ordering more since it paired perfectly with the Tikki Masala. We were originally going to order two sides of rice, but were told one would be enough for two of us and that we could always order more if needed. That turned out to be true since we couldn't even finish the one order and had leftovers. I can see why this is one of the top rated restaurants in Flagstaff. It tasted so good that I even tried going back for my last day in Flagstaff, only to find out they were closed on Mondays. I already look forward to my next visit. read more

We honestly don't mind driving about two hours just to eat at Delhi Palace, that's how much we like this place. Every time we walk in, it feels warm and welcoming. The restaurant is nicely decorated with traditional Indian décor, and the staff are always friendly, helpful, and easy to talk to. The food is consistently good, and we've never been disappointed. Our favorites are the butter chicken and the lamb masala. The butter chicken is rich, creamy, and super comforting, while the lamb masala is tender, flavorful, and cooked just right. And their garlic naan? Seriously one of the best in town, soft, fluffy, and perfect for scooping up all that sauce. Overall, Delhi Palace is one of those places that's always worth the drive. Food: We came at dinner time so it was only buffet that was being served. So my assessment is based on a limited and fixed menu. Standard curries, naan, rice, desserts. Now, despite these items being very standard, the quality of food wasn't up to my expectations. The naan and jamun were super dry. The flavors of the paneer makhani, butter chicken, korma were all flat - I guess since they all used the same base gravy, they all turned out to taste the same flat flavor. The only thing that was up to the mark was the tandoor chicken. Lamb vindaloo was average. This is the main reason I deducted 2 stars because a restaurant's prime expectation to not disappoint on has to be the food. Saag paneer,mango lassi and rice kheer was good. Service: Since this was buffet, there was very little interaction but whatever interactions we had, those who attended to us for offering water, clearing up our plates were all kind and friendly. I do also want to make a special mention that for kids aged 7years and under, the buffet is half rate. This is nice because kids that little can't and don't eat much anyways. So this was super nice to have. Ambience: Good ambience, nice decor, comfortable seating arrangements. Parking: No problem at all. Ample space as it is within a strip mall area. My moto friends and I rode up to Flag from the Phoenix area. Although at first we were disappointed that they no longer do the buffet, after tasting the food that disappeared quickly. I ordered the Butter Chicken slightly kicked up. A med heat instead of mild. For my pallet it was perfect! No forehead sweats. Fantastic flavor. Buttery goodness. The basmati rice was tasty and the garlic naan was cooked perfectly. The portion size was generous enough to enjoy the next night. My dining partners had Chicken Tikka Masala and Tandoori chicken. The entrees are top-notch and always consistently good. The sides and appetizers could be better. The Naan has a weird texture like a reheated pancake - it's never crispy and does not taste as fresh as it could. The pakoras and samosas are inconsistent from visit to visit and are either really bland or they have an unexpected texture. Overall, I recommend Delhi Palace, but hope their sides and appetizers become better and more consistent. read more

Maybe the best Indian food I ever had! Stopped by because of the high reviews, we arrived early evening and there was not many people, but when we leaved, it was packed, so it's really popular in Flagstaff. The garlic naan smelled so good, it paired well with chicken tikka masala. The chicken tikka masala was also a rice killer, so creamy and flavorful. My husband got lamb biryanis and it was a generous amount, and also a lot of lamb. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended if you are visiting Flagstaff. read more

This was my first time ever trying Indian food, the workers were very helpful and willing to put up with all my questions. Almost everything on the menu is gluten free except the naan. As you walk in you immediately get hit with the smell of spices and many different decorations. Overall I don't know if Indian food is my favorite but definitely worth the try and was a great experience. read more

This place was incredible, truly unexpected how great the food was here. Well worth the visit if you're a fan of Indian food, whether you're a local or traveling through. It's super close to a bunch of Flagstaff hotels so we came for dinner after a long day of driving and were so pleasantly surprised. We left full and super happy. Highly recommend you order with the intention to share so you can try all sorts of different items. They give you complementary crispy papadum and green chutney as soon as you're seated which was amazing. Can't remember a single thing that we ordered that we weren't really impressed/happy with eating. Service was great. They were super friendly. They made recommendations and offered information when asked. They were also super quick, but didn't make you feel rushed at all. Waters were always topped off and you really didn't have to ask for anything. Prices seemed very reasonable for the amount of food you got, the atmosphere and good service. Inside, it's clean and comfortable. They're a big restaurant with lots of tables, so we didn't have to wait at all. Seemed like a good mix of people inside which is always a good sign and they were very welcoming of travelers. Parking is easy and free, it's located in a strip-mall type area so huge parking lot right out front. Would HIGHLY recommend and wish it was near me so I could come back! read more

Absolutely worth a stop! We stopped in while traveling from Phoenix to Kanab, UT and were so impressed! The staff was incredibly knowledgeable about celiac disease, which immediately put my husband at ease. As soon as we mentioned it, they reassured us that everything is gluten-free except the naan and samosas. Their confidence and awareness were a huge relief! The dining room had a cozy vibe with Indian music softly playing in the background. Everything is served à la carte, but the prices are very reasonable, and they offer a choice of spice level for each dish. We ordered: Indian tea Onion bhaji Mango chicken Garlic naan (for me, I'm not celiac) Chicken korma Every dish was flavorful and beautifully prepared. This place has great Indian food - unexpected in flagstaff but it does really feel authentic. Right when you sit down they bring a crispy flatbread (I believe papadum) and a green chutney (has a little kick). The service was great - our water glasses were never empty during our whole meal. We ordered family style - shrimp curry, chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, and garlic naan and rice to share. Do note that the entrees are a la carte - so you need to order rice or naan to eat with it. Everything was delicious. All of the dishes were so full of flavor and fragrant spices. The portions are pretty big as well, so we even had leftovers for another meal! In terms of spice level, we all got medium and honestly the dishes could have been more spicy - it was pretty faint, so if you like spice, I'd go a little heavier. First visit, Saturday night, the mixed grilled and lamb masala were the entrees. Make sure to ask for rice. It does not just come with these entrees. The medium spice level was about a 7 out of 10. If you want to taste the spice but still enjoy the dish this is the spice level I recommend. The mild spice level was very flavorful. The restaurant was nearly full upon departure. 1st time at this Indian place, it's small quaint and very nice. The host were very friendly and we were able to pick where to sit. Music is nice and not loud . We ordered vegetable fritters, chicken tikka masala do lamb curry. We asked for medium high spicy and it came just like wanted . Excellent, what more can I say? We had a very large group....31! That dined here recently and we ordered a wide variety of dishes and every item was delicious! While we were the louder patrons at the restaurant, it was busy and vibrant and packed! The staff is amazing, very accommodating and was on top of everything we requested. We didn't make a reservation but we got there right at 5pm and were able to get seated. This is definitely the best Indian food I've had in Arizona, but possibly ever. We've come to Flagstaff the past couple summers and we've determined that we can never not come here when we visit. This is our second time, about 5 years apart and we will definitely not be letting this much time go by again. We live in the valley and remember it being good and still don't have a solidly good and popular Indian food place in the valley, so practically broke our legs getting here again since we had some serious Indian food withdrawals. Place was pretty full for a Tuesday night at 6:30 and in the hour we were dining, we saw no fewer than 10 people come in to pick up takeout. It was incredible again. Dahl, Tikka Masala, soup, basmati, garlic naan, onion appetizer and samosa appetizer. All were so good. The soup was our least favorite thing with 4/5 stars but everything else was 5/5. Can't wait for my leftover lunches tomorrow. $55 for stuffed people (two adults, 10yo, 12yo) who have lunch for two adults still tomorrow. Also, can I say that I find their prices to be excellent and I hope they continue to stay reasonable because whatever they are doing (right price point and amazing food) is working. Omg this was amazing. My partners colleague in Phoenix says he'll drive up just to get Delhi Palace. We arrived at 4:50 and were the first ones in, although a minute later all these people showed up. Shortly after, there was a line. It's packed! We got mango lassi (amazing), the appetizer plate, and the star was the saag paneer. The flavor was so deep and I couldn't stop eating. We got tikka masala as well which was great. We got extra papadum and got garlic naan on the side which was perfectly light and airy. We took many leftovers back! The service was also perfect too. I ordered takeout over the phone on a rainy Friday night and was quoted 45 minutes, which wound up being pretty accurate. Aside from a slightly faulty phone connection, ordering was pretty painless, and after finding a parking spot easily, got friendly service in the restaurant for payment. Definitely busy and buzzy on a Friday night in the dining room! Everything was wrapped and bagged really well -- no one wants to spill Indian food all over their car on the way home! So bonus points there. I got chicken korma, a side of rice (not included automatically), plain naan, and one order of (2) veggie samosas. The damage was $27 before tip, which is really not bad at all, considering it's easily enough for dinner and a lunch the next day with leftovers. At first bite, the chicken korma tasted a bit different than I'm accustomed to, perhaps a bit saltier than usual? Couldn't quite put my tongue on it. It's dark meat chicken, but nothing super fatty which was a relief. I asked for spice level 2 on a 5 scale, which is perfect for me as I like a hint of spice without making my eyes water, because I am indeed a baby in that department. Creamy, packed with flavors, and good ingredients. You get a TON of rice, which was fresh and steamy. The naan was also fresh and super soft, maybe could have used a touch more time in the oven for a little extra char. The samosas were also excellent, with a nice crispy shell and a tasty, mushy interior. Overall, pretty much all positives to report, so would certainly order from them again when in the Flagstaff area. read more

Got both "spicy," which was not very spicy but had a nice, small amount of heat. The regular naan was quite good. Unfortunately, the kashmiri naan was disappointing; no nuts and only two or three raisins in the entire naan. Would not get that again. Otherwise, everything was very good. read more
