I walked in today around 11:45am and was helped by Edgar & Hilda. Both great humans. Helpful and kind. Also, sweet smiles on both of their faces. I ordered their Petito Tacos one with steak and the other with chicken. Both with flour tortillas. Food tasted very fresh and delicious. Since the portion was a bit small, I also opted for Petito beef, beans, & cheese burrito. Also very fresh, hot and delicious. Chips were crunchy, crisp and not oily at all. Food was not salty like some other restaurants. They have a great Salsa Bar and variety of salsas to choose from. The food & service along with the ambiance has always been spot on and consistent. I have been to the Studio City location couple of times, but 2nd time in this Sherman Oaks location. Has parking, restrooms, and outside seating. Restaurant was clean and will definitely be back next time I happen to be in Sherman Oaks. Catering, delivery, pick up, 3rd parties all available at this location. Thank you all! Poquito Mas has been a staple for my family for decades! We have been loyal fans since they opened their very first location in Studio City, and it remains one of our absolute favorite spots for a reliable, fresh meal at a fair price! Last year, we discovered the new Sherman Oaks location, which is a strong contender for being their best yet -- however, there is one persistent issue at this specific location that desperately needs to be addressed: THE PARKING! The staff is great and the food never misses, but finding a parking spot at the Sherman Oaks location is a serious pain in the ass because of CorePower Yoga next door, which seems to completely ignore the POQUITO MAS PARKING signs and occupy almost every available space, effectively "stealing" the parking intended for restaurant patrons. It's a frustrating hurdle to clear just to get through the front door. You either end up fighting for a meter or circling the block and parking all the way up Colbath in the residential area just to get your burrito fix! This obstacle has to be costing Poquito business! ​If the owners would actually do something to enforce the parking situation and ensure spaces are available for their customers... this location would be perfect. We were talking a stroll down Ventura & decided to stop by for lunch since it smelled so good from outside. We walked in and the restaurant was clean, had ambient lighting but we were a bit confused because it looks like a sit down restaurant but you have to walk up to the counter to order. Their menu has a lot of items that are categorized by "classic & mucho mas" Nonetheless, we order our food and sit down at an empty booth. Our order came out to $70 which isn't crazy in this economy considering inflation -- but what we weren't expecting is that the plates wouldn't come with rice or beans. We ordered: a steak burrito (mucho mas), 2 orders of (2) steak tacos, & a chicken burrito (mojado style) & 3 horchatas. As a latina, I was disappointed with the lack of seasoning in the food. The chicken was very dry & the steak bland. The tortilla is too thick and makes the burritos look fuller than they are. I was also surprised we were offered plastic utensils considering the "vibe" & price of the restaurant. I would say that this is not authentic mexican food but it is a fusion of sorts. Overall, the service was pleasant & the restaurant had a nice atmosphere. However the food was lacking. I felt robbed at the idea of paying that much. We could have gone to King Taco with much less. Everyone has different tastes & opinions so I wouldn't tell anyone to steer clear of this place; just to be aware that it's inauthentic & overpriced. read more

Currently there are seven stores throughout LA, with six being within 20 miles of each other. I have been eating Poquito Más since the 90's, and it has always been a good product. The petito menu items are great. They're just enough to fill you up, but not stuff you. The petito chicken and steak taco size are perfecto! Also good is the petito bean & cheese burrito. Everything is advertised as fresh, and the salsa bar is loaded. Poquito Más has always been good and the different locations I've been to seem to be consistent. Sherman Oaks location has a large indoor seating area as well as a medium outdoor area. Both spaces are nice and clean. The staff is always nice and friendly. They do their best to get the food out to you as soon as possible. The food is yummy and fresh. The best part is definitely the fresh made flour tortillas. We love to seat at the counter to watch them make the tortillas. The have a good selection of salsa's to choose from depending the spice level. The only downside side for me, is that the restrooms are locked and you need to ask for a code to use them. I can understand why they might want to do that, but it in the long run it's just a hassle for the customer. read more

I love this location a little bit more than my local studio city location only because there's more seating and I can usually find parking. The parking is tricky if you can't find any on the lot. When you walk in you see the The seating area is a pretty good size. The customer service was good. The ambience was exactly what it should be. I ordered the burrito and it was fine. My friend ordered tacos. We arrived at 6:30 on a Friday evening. The bathrooms were okay There are quite a few of these around the Los Angeles area. They are also pretty solid. I have been coming to Poquito Mas since the late 80's. Back then this was the new concept and it was popular! It has held its own. I did feel the food was toned down. We have ordered many times and never had issues. The last two orders they labeled our food wrong. TWICE!! He likes his burrito whole, I like mine cut in two, which I put in the notes. Twice they didn't do that. The chicken burrito was barely filled with meat. He was pulling off empty tortilla on the side and the top. Both burritos were on the soggy side. You aren't expecting an intimate dinner for two, but rather a good value with tasty food. Poquito Más doesn't disappoint in these areas. I've seen plenty of reviews nitpicking about service and other minor details. I think these people have unrealistic expectations for a counter-service Mexican restaurant. The staff is always very nice, and they offer bottomless tortilla chips while you wait for your meal if you ask. They were very sweet to my seven-year-old when she asked for a basket of warm chips, and I felt completely comfortable watching their interaction. I don't want to dismiss anyone's legitimate experience, but the idea that the staff here makes customers feel uncomfortable just doesn't resonate with me. Are you sure you're reviewing the same place? After dozens of visits, I've never had an unpleasant experience with a staff member at Poquito Más. That said, the food can take a while. Counter ordering might make you think it will be fast food, but it's not. It can take as long as a full-service restaurant because the food is prepared to order. In the end, it's worth the wait as the food is invariably hot and delicious. Plus, the self-serve salsa bar gives me time to settle in and catch up with my family from a busy day. My wife loves the cheese enchiladas plate, my vegetarian kids enjoy the bean and cheese burritos, and I, a pescatarian, love the ahi tuna taco plate. My wife prefers the pinto beans, while I favor the black beans, but you can't go wrong either way. The fact that they offer a choice is something I love. You can rest easy choosing Poquito Más for your family's casual dining experience. I paid extra $$ to add steak in my chicken burrito which they charged me for but there was NO steak. 2nd consecutive time this happened, tbh this last time was just a test, & they failed. There are at least 4 Poquito Mas locations on Ventura Blvd., so if you're meeting someone, make sure you ask what city it's in. Food is decent, portions are fair to their price but there really isn't much to this chain. I'm guessing if you want convenience and quick meal this is an easy choice. Great customer service! The menu is pretty big so take your time ordering because there's so many good options I tried the Santa Fe shrimp platter and the shrimp tostado salad, both delicious. This restaurant down the street is not my go to, nor have I been to it often. But friends LOVE it. Even friends from out of town who visit and request to go as soon as they get here. My son loves it. So this is where we picked up our takeout dinner last night. My expectations were moderate because I thought of it as fast food. But I was really surprised. It wasn't super fast (15 min or so) and it didn't look or taste like fast food. My chicken tostada was HUGE and fresh. Delicious, crispy flour shell that I actually ate, black beans, grilled cubes of chicken, lettuce, tomato, sour cream and guac. I used up all of the 3 salsas they included because they were GOOD. Note to self: next time ask for more salsa. My son got a chicken burritos MUCHO MAS (a little bigger) and it was substantial. All of the food was FRESH. Came with chips which we devoured. I could only get through half of the tostada. Bonus: it's affordable. About $12 -15 per meal. I get it now. Fresh, delicious, flavorful, affordable. A new neighborhood gem. read more

I really wanted to give this place a second shot after my first disappointing experience last summer. The first time I had their fish taco entree, I took 2 bites and shoved the rest into the fridge hoping to eat it later but it ended up in the trash because it was not worth me polluting my body for. My girlfriend loves this place and it makes me question if her tastebuds still function sometimes. She hasn't been in the area in a while so I gave in and said "okayyyy, maybe I'll try something different and it'll be better!" You know, sometimes we go eat at places and we get unlucky ordering some janky items on the menu because we should have ordered something else. So I got two shrimp tacos and a chicken taco and I must give an award to this place for being the absolute worst Mexican restaurant I've ever had in my life. When they get your order right, the food is good. When we order online and pick it up, they screw it up. We got the shrimp burrito and it was inedible it was sooooo hot. I love spicy food, but it was awful. Ordered a fish burrito and they only put in some fish and rice, that's it. Or they don't put in the correct order in the bag, so we get home and it's missing half the food. No idea what's going on, but we're done. read more
