A polite young lady took our order and pointed out some of their specialties. The sign outside says they make pupusas. My coworker and I went for the chicken tortas. Very huge and packed with chicken lettuce tomatoes and onions. Fresh. He got his with fries and I got mine with chips. We were both pretty happy . The only thing we wanted was a spicier salsa. We were told we got the hottest one they had, but I feel the ketchup on the table was spicer. They did have some tapatio available. That helped. All in all, a solid lunch spot. A good friend recommended this very small place on Van nuys boulevard. I am so glad she recommended this place. It is very clean, the young lady behind the counter was very friendly and helpful and patient. The food was absolutely outstanding, and big portions I might add. I could have gotten enough charge for $3.50, but the torta totally filled me up and I would have wasted food. And the only downside is street parking is not the easiest. We went at 5:00 p.m. and there was no meter parking on Van nuys. Fortunately we got it a spot just around the corner. That will not stop us from coming back time and again, there are so many great looking dishes to try and I can't wait. I give this place six stars if I could. I've been seeing this place for ages because I live fairly close and drive by it weekly, I was having a craving for some tacos and decided to pop in and see what they were about. Small shop with plenty of seating. Service was warm and welcoming. I had the fish taco platter, which came with a salad . I ordered a Al Pastor store and Asada taco separately. The fish tacos were amazing, I would come back just to try the tacos again . The Al Pastor and Asada taco were fairly dry but still enjoyable. I wasn't sure what the name of the placement, but it has some sort of religious affiliation and playing Christian music. It's close to my house so I come here a lot. I like the burritos, bowls, and plates. The coffee is good and you can call in an order and usually pick it up in less than 15 minutes. Their guacamole has lots of lime which helps keep it fresh longer. read more

Date: November 16, 2022 Hubs and I were looking for a restaurant to try out so did some yelping and Pastor's Grill was the number one showing. Saw that it was new and very close by so asked him to go grab some burritos for us. They were in their grand opening phase still so the order was 15% off. Photos looked yummy on their website and seeing positive reviews thus far, we had to give it a try ourselves. We ordered two burritos. A carne asada for me and a carnitas for the love. It states it comes with your choice of meat, pico de gallo, Jack cheese, black or pinto beans, Mexican rice, and sour cream. I love pico de gallo paired with sour cream so I was super excited. Not a fan of beans so requested those off. When he arrived home I immediately cut mine in half because I was so excited. Sadly, once I cut it open I noticed it was just rice and meat. And not only that; the meat was super over cooked and very hard. Praying that the others were just mixed on the bottom, I took a couple bites In hopes of finding them, only to be disappointed that there was nothing there. Hubs also had no pico de gallo or sour cream. Sad to say we were both pretty upset and disappointed. Pros: The food looked pretty and the servings are large. I waited 15 min for the food and I felt happy that they prepared our order in a timely manner. Cons: EVERYTHING lacked flavor! EVERYTHING! The meat (chicken & steak) had absolutely no seasoning. I couldn't taste any sodium. My husband was really disturbed by the lack of flavor in his chicken plate. He took on bite of the chicken and some of the black beans and refused to eat more. I was able to eat all of my tacos by adding the green salsa to make my experience better. But it was subpar. The employees were nice, restaurant clean and the presentation of the food was great, but that was it. The carna asada meat was questionable, I literally asked my friend to try the meat to confirm it was beef not pork. The meat had no seasoning, flavor and it was under cooked. After we left about 20 minutes after I felt sick literally. Stomach pain, wanting to throw up and diaherra. The taste of the meat, well I really can't explain it, tasted old. Grabbed a couple Burritos to-go from the new joint nearby our place of residence. Since hump day is centrally located, Burritos were our top pick as tacos are for Tuesday and Tortas are for Thursdays. For the Mrs, a carne asada burrito that was overwhelmingly well done, hence dry and tough beef. The Pico de gallo, Jack cheese, and sour cream must've jumped ship as they were no where to be found. I got the Carnitas burrito and right away spotted the Jack cheese but the Pico de gallo and sour cream remain M.I.A. Same situation for the wellness of the meat as it was very exhausting for my jaws. However, the garnish station had a spectacular Verde sauce and the spice level of the Rojo sauce had a solid kick to it. The cilantro and onions fresh and wedges of lemons stacked mountain high. An honorable mention on how rad The radish was. We were informed that chips and salsa were Included but I guess they are on the "have you seen me" ad with the rest of them. Recently discovered this place and it's delicious! Have gone in for both breakfast and lunch. Breakfast burritos are not greasy and packed with flavor. Their taco plate is $10 and you get 3 tacos, rice and beans which is a great deal. We got steak and it was yummy! Lastly the service here is wonderful! Estrella has helped us every time we've gone in. She is so kind, warm and incredibly hard working. I've been coming here for a while now, and I am hooked. Everything I've ordered is good. The icy blended mocha is suspiciously good. That and the chorizo burrito are my go-to.
