There's not that many Deli's in Charlotte, not like places up north where they are in every neighborhood. This is why I was excited to try Deli Street on a recommendation I saw in Axios for Cindy's Turkey sandwich. Cindy's sandwich is a creative twist on a turkey and cheese sandwich and it was very good. Fresh bread, I think they make it in house, or at least buy it locally as it was very fresh . The pimento cheese and spreads on the sammy were delicious and everything was ready for pick up in 20 minutes. I enjoyed the sandwich and will be back . read more

This is a great addition to the Plaza area. I love that they cater to vegans/vegetarians along with omnivores! They have a great menu, sandwiches and salads--but there are a ton of interesting options, this is not your typical deli, these items are definitely unique. They have two separate menus, one for vegans/vegetarians with multiple options for dairy-free cheese and meat substitutes plus a vegan bread. In addition to the food, they have beer/wine and smoothies. I recently tried the drink special, a peach mimosa and it was fantastic. Update mid-July 2018: Second time here, which I know is still infancy. But I have to give a nod to my Hawthorne Beef (chose rye bread) sammy. Great combo of flavors: thinly sliced roast beef, Swiss, lettuce, tomato, but the home run was the habanero-soaked pickles. Dill pickles that tasted like dill but left a nice spicy-hot tingle that lingers. Definitely raises my experience up a notch. June 2018: Quaint place, used to be La Unica and many other Mexican restaurants. A good selection of breads and sandwich types. My Central Turkey wrap was really solid, but slightly light on the amount of meat. I added jalapeño pimento cheese which was fantastic. Pick some up for a party! One of the greatest vegan dives in Charlotte. Deli St is somewhat of a hidden gem. They offer both vegan and non-vegan options, named after popular Charlotte streets. The lattes are some of the best I've ever had, too. I go there often whenever I'm near Plaza Midwood, because I want to support local. We don't have enough quality vegetarian/vegan-friendly spots in town. Some items are a little overpriced, in my opinion, and it looks like some of the desserts are store-bought, but I would recommend their espresso drinks and sandwiches any time! read more

Hey , first time I tried it, I liked it. It's in Plaza Midwood area. It's dicey, but clean. They have a wide range of beers and snacks, and lots of health nut options , but basic options as well , so you and all your friends can come. There is a little bit of table seating , a store length indoor window seating , and patio seating in the front with plenty of shade. This visit I ordered bacon, egg and cheese croissant ( breakfast served all day) and a caramel latte. I peeped the coffee was locally sourced and it actually tasted delicious. The sandwich was great too, the bread was particularly fresh and I could tell the bacon was center cut ( my family's favorite kind of bacon lol). Woke up this morning and wanted something new. Wanted different food and different coffee. Search coffee shops near me and Deli St. came up. Granted I may have passed his place probably a million times since they reopened but neglected to stop in (you know busy with life). Today was not that day. I stopped in and have a great breakfast sandwich (full breakfast menu, with coffee (full coffee and Smoothies menu too). Greeted when we walked in, excellent prices and beautiful magnificent customer service. Dinned-in. Clean, Covid responsible. The decore is quite awesome as well. I will be back. Met some friends here for breakfast while I was back visiting The Queen City. Very eclectic and unique place with a lot of variety. With a focus on the healthy side of things, you should walk out feeling full but not horrible about what you just ate. They support a lot of the local businesses from coffee roasters to breweries. That's cool. I enjoyed a bacon, egg and cheese everything bagel and a can of local cold brew coffee. Very good! I would definitely return! read more

This place has my favorite sandwich in all of Charlotte!! Bold statement but trust me on this. Their house bread is the way to go. Sandwich was very good, but their prices can be misleading. I looked at the receipt and realized the sandwich was actually $1 more than listed on the screen. I mentioned that their menu prices were incorrect and she pointed to a sign that says "prices subject to change" The menu is a tv screen. If your prices have changed, go edit it on the computer the tv is hooked up to. Yeah, It was only $1 and the food was good. Just felt sneaky and I'm not going back. Deli St impressed me above and beyond. I must've passed this place a million times driving up and down Central Ave. Finally, I gave it a try the other day because I was too tired to make dinner. The lady working there was super friendly and helpful. She had them start making my sandwich even though I didn't pay yet so I could browse the drinks and pre-made food offerings. Its kind of like a little bodega deli of sorts. They have a lot of beer and wine options for you. I also got the deviled eggs which were amazing! They have a little curry kick in there. I had the Thomas Street without olives. It was a yummy wrap and the ingredients were fresh. I know this place might have an unassuming facade, but its great! Deli St. did not disappoint! I had the pleasure of trying this restaurant with my good friend for the very first time this afternoon :) The food was amazing! The deli closes around 3:30 and we went about 1:30. The ladies who worked at the front were extremely helpful and I even talked with another customer who gave me insight on what yummy things to try, so that was awesome. Staff wore masks but I cannot say the same about the customers/locals that walked in, but what can you do lol? I ordered the vegan blt, that included vegan bacon, vegan pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato and avocado. It soooo good. I topped it off with the green start smoothie. The only thing with the smoothie is that a lot of the pulp contents were at the bottom but I guess that's how you can tell that it was made with fresh fruits and vegetables. This place is awesome!!!! The food is delicious and they have a lot of staples but also some really good specials that are well worth it. The empanadas handmade by the ladies in the kitchen from Columbia are simply out of this world. I mean you MUSTA TRY THEM. The staff is so friendly and helpful and just very easy going. I had been meaning to pass by Deli st for some time and finally made the move yesterday afternoon on my way back from running errands. This location is off the beaten trek from the main drag of Plaza but well worth the visit. It is on the smaller size but they have perfected placing enough of the wants and must haves in a small space. In "normal times" they have a few tables inside and outside but due to COVID, they have the inside tables/chairs up. The inside sitting area is now the ""waiting area"" for take out. When you walk in its hard not to notice a few things, all the Vegan options on the main wall of menu selections for both breakfast and lunch (run all day), the great selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages, the smoothies which you can add a shot of CBD into and a small display of pastries - which I found pretty awesome. While I am personally not vegan, I will practice non-meat days often, so and its more about taste than "what it is". Don't be scared, vegan can be delicious too! I ordered the Cyprus Dr Salad which is basically a Greek Salad...Greens, feta cheese, onions, kalamata olives, pepperoncini peppers, croutons and Caesar dressing. I personally found the Ceasar dressing not appealing for this salad and they didn't have a Greek dressing. I was given a few different vegan dressings options to choose from as well but I chose Italian. You have the option of adding Chicken $2, Grilled Tofu $1.50 or Turkey $1.50, for an up charge, however, the salad itself was $6.50 so I thought this was very reasonable. I was keeping it light so I had it as it was and it was so fresh and delicious. I also got a bottle of wine and some beer to-go. Last but not least, I can't close and not mention how friendly and helpful the service was. He took the time to walk through the menu and gave suggestions on what is most popular. I definitely plan on going back to try the Torta Sandwiches and for more wine! read more

We tried Deli St this evening and it did NOT disappoint! We ordered the St. Julien and Plaza Torta, both recommended by the nice gentleman at the counter. We took it to go but you can sit and order a local brew on tap. There are also several options for vegans and vegetarians. Very clean and welcoming- you can also call ahead for pick up! Very much enjoyed the Deli St breakfast sandwich. Got it on the signature Bolillo roll and at $3.95 you simply cannot beat it. There are plenty of options for any food preference which is awesome. The coffee was excellent too. They had several tables inside and out, as well as counter seating against the front window so there is plenty of room. Parking should be fine but may get a bit hairy during the busier times. They had excellent customer service when addressing an issue during my visit as well.
