My wife and I ate at Delicias Cafe and the overall experience was great and the food delicious! The combo meals came with a cup of soup and in our case carne de res, which was reminiscent of what my mom used to make. The chili colorado was very tasty with just the right amount of spice. Good is not good. I cook better than the cold here. The green chilli is nasty, their version of chilaquiles is poor. Hash browns have no salt and tasteless. Flan is good though. read more

This place came highly recommended by a couple of my Mexican friends who love to eat out. It has a homey vibe of a mom and pop cafe but it's the food that really impressed me. The beef soup (cocido) was made with fresh vegetables and spices - same with my entree, which featured flautas, tacos, and a Gordita with a side of rice and refried beans. The flavors were crisp; not overpowering (like you find in chains) or muted (which happens when using frozen ingredients). This is casual dining and a great introduction to authentic Mexican food for the average Gringo (like me). Perfect spot for lunch or an early dinner. My girlfriend, who makes amazing pozole swears theirs is the best she's had in any restaurant. read more

My sister and brother-in-law happened to stop in to this cute little spot and raved about the food. The interior is simple and nice, with colorful chairs to lift the spirits. The chips are thick and strong; the salsa average. I ordered chicken fajitas and my friend ordered beef fajitas. We both received a bowl of caldo, that contained rice, carrots, cabbage, zucchini, and a few spices. It was ok, not bad, but not that special. I received one large flour tortilla with my chicken fajitas, some raw onions and tomatoes with a little avocado mixed in, and charro beans. No other condiments served with the fajitas. The one large tortilla was enough for me. I didn't care for the onion/tomato/avocado mixture, way too strong on the raw onions. If you like raw onions, you'll probably enjoy it and call it guacamole. It was raw onion stuff to me. The charro beans were excellent. Tasted like they had put chorizo into the beans. Spicy and delicious, I ate every bite. The chicken fajitas were excellent. More chicken than vegetables, the flavor was excellent and the chicken cooked just right. My friend enjoyed his beef fajitas. I can't say I'm as enamored over this place as my sister is, but it is a decent authentic Mexican food restaurant with hard working people. Recommended. read more

Not impressed! Service was horrible. The waiter basically laughed at us because we couldn't speak English, threw our food at us, and went for his break without giving us our check. My friends enchiladas were cold and had to be sent back. In fact, while we were there I saw about 10 plates that had to be sent back because either it was the wrong order or it was cold, etc. My menudo was good, nothing special. The chips and salsa were also good. Overall, I think we were in middle of the lunch rush but it doesn't excuse all of that. read more

I went there with my father to get takeout menudo since it had been a couple years since last visit. I was disappointed with the service and then with the food. I ordered the menudo and paid 8 a plate.I thought it was expensive but I wanted to give it a try. I should have just said no and went to my regular place to buy menudo. It was very salty and lacked flavor and menudo was becoming black as if reheated. When I ordered it they made me wait outside in the sun for at least ten minutes. So when I took it home and tried it it was gross and brought it back for a refund . They did argue but did say no one else had complained read more

Ok all around but nothing to shout about. Service was excellent, the place is clean and attractive. The food was a bit bland. The salsa for chips tasted like it came out of a jar. As I said, OK but just that. I had the green chile cheese enchiladas montado. I never did taste any green chili flavor. But again, it was OK, but it just didn't knock my socks off. I would go back if I'm in the area but doubt I would drive across town to get there. I'm a creature of habit so I will likely stick to my regular haunts. read more

This place is the jam! I actually came here after reading the reviews on Yelp while driving looking for something to eat. So thank you, to my fellow Yelpers who did a wonderful job of persuading me to this awesome Mexican restaurant. I've been back several times since. The food, is amazing. It is very reasonably priced (I got the Carne Asada tacos for under $8). I believe that most of the entrees include caldo that is brought before your meal. I'm not a real fan of caldo, but this place has definitely changed my perception. I've tried the other dishes that people have ordered and they were just as tasty as my own plate. Now, the one thing I want to rave about is their rice. I know that spanish rice is often overlooked in the Mexican dining culture, but I consider myself a connoisseur of sorts. Their rice has to be one of the best (and consistent!) side dishes I have had in all my years of Mexican food eating. Overall, I would recommend this place to everyone and anyone looking for yummy Mexican food at a reasonable price. The service is always top notch. It's a very small and quaint little restaurant that is a great setting for good food and conversation. They also have really tasty (fresh!) agua frescas. I have been coming here for years, service is great 99.9% of the time. I have never had a bad meal here, have ordered probably 15/20 items of their menu, the salsa is great also. Menudo is served every day, and I like it very much, for the most part I am there every Sunday, On Wednesday they have Carnitas (the only day its severed) as the daily lunch special. Whoa. This place is awesome. Good food. Good service. Good prices. Came here for lunch one day with coworkers and honestly didn't expect much; they said it was authentic and it didn't disappoint. I ordered the cheese enchiladas and for 6.99 it came with chips & salsa, vegetable soup, rice and beans, and three enchiladas! So much food and it was all delicious!! The food was served promptly and with a smile- I seriously can't wait to come back here! Menudo EVERYDAY! This is not a drill. The staff is sooo very nice. The food is excellent. No complaints and the decór is super fun.

They have outstanding food and fresh. Its really busy and hard to find a table if you arrive with more than four people. Other than that the restaurant is great and great customer service. Will most definitely return. read more

Avoid. Zero seasoning on the meat, no salt on the chips, tacos served soggy, refritos have no taste, and the rice dry enough to lower the water table in a river basin. I was disappointed based on the local recommendation. The soup was really good but the rest of the meal was not up to par. The chili con queso was flavorless and slightly cold so tasted greasy. I got the chili relleno special of the day It was better than some I have had in Las cruces but still pretty bad. At least you can see the skin was grilled and peel off while no seed was in the chili. Thank goodness. The cheese was nonexistent the batter was greasy and the red sauces was not very good. The sides were cold. He had the enchiladas plate. It was ok not very flavorful. Too bad I was looking forward to a fantastic meal from a Las cruces institutions. read more

This is one of the finest restaurants I have ever eaten at, I go there all the time and I have been going for 15 years, (I'm 15 years old) never ONCE have had a bad experience, I went there again today, and I downloaded Yelp just to give this place five stars. If I could give more, I would, This is the best Mexican restaurant ever, coming from a Mexican. The food is heavenly. I wanted to try the Delicias location in El Paso because I have eaten at the one in Las Cruces and everything there was delicious including great service. Unfortunately, the one in El Paso is not as good. Menu items are not as described, and when you bring it up to the wait staff, they are aware of it but do nothing to fix the situation. Just off a long journey from the United Kingdom, all I wanted was some good huevos rancheros. After our first choice was closed, we ended up here. Sadly, my craving wasn't really satisfied. They use a sort of sweet, salsa-like sauce instead of green chile, and they wasn't very nice. The eggs and hashbrowns were acceptable, but the beans were a bit bland. I have gone through a decent portion of the menu here and it is mostly decent food. It is in no way amazing. There is no flavor that is going to jump out at you because they don't season things the way other fancy places do. There are a million Mexican restaurants in EP so I don't understand why you don't try to go a step above the competition. The rice and soup sides they give you are pretty good. The beans and cheese is bland. I had the carne asada tacos and they had barely any meat and tons of chopped jalapeno. I would not recommend them. The menudo is actually pretty good here. I wouldn't say the food necessarily needs to be spicier like some other reviews. I think if you build some good flavor you don't have to hide behind a giant belt of heat. The ambiance is somewhere just above divey. I don't know what I would call it exactly. The food is at a pretty good for the price point and it is close by. Place has good Mexican music, softly playing, small location, nice pictures, and beautiful chairs and tables. The prices are a little high but acceptable. Food is reasonable, what wasn't nice was what they charged for 2 (two) Cheese enchilada plates acco.panied by lots of lettuce, and diced tomatoes, beans and rice, accompanied by a tea, and coffee. Living on the border, there's a bunch of restaurants claiming to serve real mexican food but they actually serve Tex-Mex type food and us being mexicans... we know the real thing! I called back to see if there was anything they could do, but they said that they could not do anything because they aren't associated with the delivery service. Very simple and highly economical. Had a breakfast burrito which was about medium sized (using chipotle as scale) and were very basic. Not a bad quick bite to eat. Let server know your intent (quick bite or going to lounge for breakfast) Looked clean and seems to have a fair share of regulars. The worst place to eat. So I bought pozole to go for my children. Little there after I discovered that my kids had their pozole with rotten vegetables. I got really disappointed and went to this place and discussed the issue with the manager and so she stated that it was just a little black ( to me is fungus) but that was nothing to worry about!! Food. That we ( family ordered ) not good at all. It was recommended by co workers being a good place. Ordered menudo. Menudo was watered down and stinky. Did not eat it . ordered a cheese burger as a replacement and it also. Was bad. It was just a heated bun with a greasy meat pattie and shredded lettuce. Did not eat only ate the fries they where good. My kid did not eat his burger as well. My wife ate half the burrito she ordered she said it was not good and no flavor. Was pricey as well. Will not go again. The only good thing it has great staff. I couldn't believe how much people the place had. And. We did not enjoy the food. read more

Caldo before your meal was surprisingly good. Beans and rice were well seasoned. I had the combo#4 which is two flautas one taco and one gordita. The flautas were somewhat small, the taco was decent, and the gordita was ok. A decent meal but a bit on the pricey side. Also I found seven high chairs for my son, but none had a working security belt. We had to pretty much hold him in the high chair the whole time. read more

I used to live in El Paso, and unfortunately there really aren't too many things that I miss that much in El Paso.. however, Delicias is definitely one of the few things that I love and miss a lot!! They have the BEST caldo de pollo, caldo de res and menudo!!! I have searched for a better place outside of El Paso and nothing beats the soothing taste of their caldos. When you're not feeling well or even as a hangover cure, the soups at Delicias are the very best cure. After some delicious caldo de pollo, you must get their sopapillas for dessert. Mm.. what a perfect ending to a meal for a happy tummy! And to top it all off, the service is always friendly and it's in a very convenient and nice location on the westside too! read more

We've been here a few times and have really enjoyed breakfast. Today, it was like a different restaurant. The table, while cleared of dishes ,was dirty. When I asked the busboy to please wipe it down he acted like a 13yr old asked to do a chore. The hash browns were partly raw.
