HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE/RUDE EMPLOYEE I went in on my day off and was picking out something to eat for the first time and the employee wasn't understanding what I was saying because of my mask and the clear wall in between us not to mention I have an accent. After 5 minutes of me still trying to get what I want, I pull down my mask to tell her and another employee jumps in and says pull your mask up this is disrespectful. We've been customers of Delicious for over 20 years have always loved everything they make. I stopped by on Saturday afternoon to pick up some goodies for Game Nite at a friends. As I was picking out some pastries I noticed a live fly in the case on the danish. I mentioned it to the gal behind the counter and she just shrugged, tried to shoo it away from the pastries and said Oh !!! .... My stomach turned knowing it's had probably touched every thing inthe case. Disgusted I left with only a loaf of bread and some cookies that were wrapped. Her nonchalant attitude and the fact that everything in the case was probably contaminated and should of been pulled and thrown away was the deal breaker. Sad to say I won't return. read more

The new owners have changed up the recipes and the danishes are terrible now. Eidleweiss is tasteless and it used to be the best anywhere. Bear claws are a new recipe and they are dry. I ordered the chocolate chip ring which is the only thing that seems to have stayed the same and when i went to pick it up, it looked like a lumpy loaf of bread- no longer a ring. Not something i could take to a gathering. I specifically asked if they were making the same ring and was told yes over the phone. The new owners should be shamed. This was my second time getting a SAME DAY CAKE here for my moms birthday! Both experiences were fantastic! The staff was extremely helpful in helping me choose a flavor and cake. Not only were the cakes gorgeous but they tasted so fresh and delicious! Their prices are also SO reasonable. I just picked up some cookies and ready made goodies (I did not order a cake or anything custom). The customer service in the store is good, the young lady that helped me was really nice. I came in mid-day. The cookies that I purchased were tasty, however they did not have a vast selection or anything where you think I need to get that (either this visit or future visit). Very basic options and how they present them isn't that appetizing. I originally wanted a cupcake but when I went to that part of the counter/case where they were located there were like 13 left and they were all mish-moshed like you could have made this at home nothing bakery or special abut them. While the taste was good but nothing looked delicious or mouth watering-for a bakery I was really underwhelmed, they need a little face lift-the store looks like something that came out of the 70's and a little dingy and worn down by time. Okay this is the last time I let something slide at this place. I've been ordering here for years now as it is one of my local businesses but honestly the service and delivery of their product is horrendous. They have made errors before like getting the wrong color on a cake ( even though they had a picture) and just upright missing the mark on what they promised. This time I ordered 24 cupcakes. Easy right. Well no. They decided that instead of using cupcake holders they would put all my cupcakes in a cake sheet and used frosting at the bottom of them to make them stick. This means every time one of my guests has a cupcake they will have to get their entire hand full of chocolate frosting. My party is tomorrow and there is no time to fix it. Selected this bakery based off of the Yelp reviews and location - close to my aunt to pick up for a surprise birthday party. I ordered a simple photo cake - requested the photo take up the entirety of the cake. Like any typical photo cake - I sent the spec size to fit properly. The cake we picked up was unbelievable. They literally put a piece of paper in the middle of a 1/2 sheet cake. Ripples in the photo.. like they didn't give a shit. I was completely mortified. As simple as a cake is.. it was a very sentimental collection of photos and It was just really bad. I couldn't even believe anyone would allow that to go to a customer. When I called to express my frustration that we would not be able to deliver this and this is not what I requested/ the quality was Terrible etc. they told me they would give me $40 dollars back. I told them that this would not suffice. Keep your $40. I will not be returning. Later in the week they sent me a full refund. These details are important for special occasions. Although I appreciate the full refund it sucks that I wasn't able to present this cake where the photos: design was a huge part of the event. read more

The first time I tried Delicious Bakery was when my sister got my birthday cake from them 6 years ago and the decor in the cake was so cute and perfectly done! I was amazed at their work and the taste of the cake. So I continued to use them and still have to this day. Just recently I got my son's smash cake for his 1 year pictures and then for his actual 1 year birthday. I am always so surprised how moist and delicious it is even after sitting in our fridge for 1 day. We also ordered cupcakes from them which were absolutely amazing! I appreciate that they can accommodate orders within a weeks notice. The girls who work in the front are always so nice and I will continue to use this bakery for years to come! By far and away, this is the best Jewish bakery I'm aware of in Southern California. Their name is certainly appropriate, as everything there is absolutely "delicious." I've been frequenting this place for many years, and I like to buy their breads. The other places always seem to charge more, make smaller breads, and they simply don't taste as good. It's definitely worth spending a little more for their breads, as there is absolutely no comparison with the breads you can find at the supermarket. read more

If I could give it zero stars I would. I had never been there before, but I had a gift certificate that I purchased at a fundraiser that I attended a few months ago. I was shocked when I walked in that the cases were almost empty. The only one that was full was where they keep the cookies, breads, and muffins. They didn't even have any pastries that you would normally see in a bakery! I picked out what I wanted from the minimal selection they had and when I handed the cashier the gift certificate, she said that they don't accept those anymore even though there was no expiration date. She went in the back and came out with the owner. He was extremely rude and said that he is the new owner and he would not honor the certificate since it wasn't signed by him. He even said the name didn't' match. It said Delicious Bakery on the certificate. The door and the sign also said Delicious Bakery, but he insisted that the real name is Sweet Delicious Bakery. He even went as far as to say that it was fake, therefore insinuating that I created a fraudulent gift certificate to use at his establishment. I was so insulted! Obviously after being treated that way, I didn't purchase my items. I'm not sure when he bought the place, but all these good reviews are probably based on the previous ownership. It's really a shame because I have been looking for a good bakery, but I will NEVER go back there again. read more

Been going to this bakery for years. Ordered a 7 layer cake on Sunday. It was the worse we ever had. It was probably two or three days old. We couldn't eat it and threw it out. $14 down the drain. Never had this happen before with the old owner. Looks like won't be going there anymore. read more

The best bakery in town!! The staff is always sooo great! I've tried spice cake with vanilla Bavarian cream filling, marble cake, and white cake with chocolate chip Bavarian cream filling. The chocolate chip filling is THE BEST!! I had that cake for my engagement party, and everyone was raving about the cake! It was a hit! I have a feeling that I'm going to use that for my wedding as well. It was just so good. Also, I always hear people say that fondant is not very good and tastes bad. This once great bakery was sold last year. The receipt now says "Sweet Delicious Bakery". They have lost me as a customer. I will go there again. I asked about the large cupcakes and the not so knowledgeable employee said they don't make them there. I told her I always bought them there then she changed her story to we don't make as many because we aren't open on Sunday so we don't want them left over. I don't see why not since the cupcake I decided to buy was stale anyway. A lady I walked out with made a comment about the terrible service and quality. We have always used Delicious Bakery, especially for our holiday needs. The order we were to pick up this past Sunday, 9/ 25 was a disaster. I placed the order well in advance on Tuesday, 9/20. 1. 7 layer cake was not available-"We didn't make any" 2. Chocolate Chip Danish unavailable as well. 3. Raisin bread unsliced-"Unable to slice it" 4. Fruit Torte-Failed to put the glaze on the Torte 5. Mandel Bread-ordered chocolate chip. Only had plain and marble available. This bakery used to be the place to go for all my Jewish holiday needs. NO MORE. The disorganization and miscommunication of this bakery and new rules and restrictions of what they will and will not make, makes this once well run little bake shop, a nightmare to deal with. Not sure if it's the turnover in employees, or a new owner, but this once "willing to please the community patron" store has become tantamount to a visit to a Ross Dress for less, with employees being uninterested in making the customer happy, complete disorganization, losing orders, not processing confirmed telephone orders, no one ever answering the phone, and lazy and snotty attitudes. This once "willing to go over and above" to make the community that sustains their business happy, now has degradation into a bunch of employees running around, not knowing much about how the business is run, and always shutting down any special requests. At first (6 months ago) I thought it might be a bad day, but this is now the norm for this bakery. When you order a special bread for a special holiday you expect the order to be there. After 25 years, being my go to place for bar mitzvah and bat mitzvah cakes, lots of special orders for family holidays, I'll find another bakery to give my business to. Do not trust this bakery with completing your special holiday orders...no one has time to run around last minute and shop for items they took the time to confirm orders for! I have ordered from this bakery several times and have always received exactly what I asked for and the cakes have always been delicious. I ordered a naked cake (which I had in the past) and the cake was NOT naked. Then after waiting for 15 minutes the woman said they could refund me $10.00 I advised while I was waiting that they also didn't write what they were suppose to & had to show her the copy receipt to prove it. After going back and forth she advised that they would fix the cake and bring it to my office the next day. Well I received the cake today and the only thing they fixed was the writing. It is a fully covered cake. I would not have paid for an extra layer of it wasn't going to be naked. The sides are fully covered and I didn't receive any credit. I am fully disappointed!!!
