I have been coming here for several years. Two slices you cannot go wrong with is the regular slice and the vodka slice. In the past my go to dish at any Italian establishment is the chicken parm with pasta..out of a dozen places I have been to all over New York as well as the New England area, no one compares to Delmar. Their sauce is homemade, heavy, and rich. I like to get the cheese well done so it has a golden brown texture to it. read more

Will never order from here again! Im so disappointed. Now in the new year they are charging a delivery fee! Who does that anymore? They are already one of the more expensive pizzerias in town. And now when you place an order you have a $2 fee on top of tipping the delivery person. The food is good but not that good. Oh and delivery is ALWAYS takes 45-1 hr Also the management is atrocious. They could careless about the customer. A few months ago I walked in and spoke to the manager. I said I was having a birthday party for my nephew and would need 30 pies! He recommended I place an order in advance so it would arrive on time. I called a few days before, placed my order and gave my credit card. Asked for pies to be delivered at 2. Day of party at 215 no delivery. I call and was told they didnt make the pizza. But guess what, my card was charged! I was told I had to place another order and get charged AGAIN. Vodka slice is heaven. Super chill, Brooklyn vibe. Some people even eat the pizza right outside of the shop literally standing there as if they're promoting it with their fitteds and brand sneakers. Nice staff, work really fast to get you your food. read more

Favorite pizza in the neighborhood! It is always fresh! My favorites are the Alfredo slice and regular cheese. Delmar is definitely one of the best pizzerias in south brooklyn. In addition, the workers are really nice and efficient. I have never had to wait much. The location is perfect for picking up a slice and sitting by the canal. read more

6-11-13 BUYER BEWARE !!! I have ordered pizza from Delmar for upwards of thirty years and often its "grandma style square pie" which was delicious---it consisted of a thin crust, a special sauce with pieces of tomato (different from that in its regular pies) and twelve slices. ....Yesterday i ordered the grandma and was shocked when it was delivered to find a smaller pie, consisting of only eight slices, a pedestrian sauce and thicker crust---for the very same price as the twelve slice grandma, to wit, $19 !!! ..Notice of the new smaller and different version of the grandma was not divulged to me.....i now wonder whether the regular 18 inch pizza is still 18 inches....The bottom line----Delmar apparently has a "don't give a damn" attitude for the public.... Perhaps Delmar has a new owner and new pizza makers. UPDATE: FOR MORE THAN THIRTY YEARS THE PRICE OF A DELMAR PIZZA INCLUDED TAX. I live in Sheepshead Bay my entire life, 60 years. Delmars pizza has always been excellent. The mexicans who have been there a long time are very nice and give great customer service, but the others are extremely rude and nasty and if you are not young and thin and gorgeous, you will not get a smile, a hello or a thank you, very ageist, very sexist and extremely racist, always have been. The best pizza place there is, honestly. And especially great since they remodeled! They look to be better than ever with their new modern design. Back to the food: The slices are perfect. Thin, but crunchy, cheese is gooey and delicious, and since the business has been doing so well, they're almost sure to have been made fresh from the oven, within the last twenty minutes since you got there. I've had the plain slices, white slices, vodka slices, and square slices, and it's honestly hard to pick a favorite, they're all perfect. The square slices are much thicker then the triangles, but they're crunchy around the crust and bottom, and soft under the sauce and cheese, and I highly recommend trying them, even if you aren't used to thick crusts. I've had their broccoli cheese rolls too, also very good, but very filling! Make sure you share if you're having both that and a pizza! And finally, the garlic knots. Half the reason I come here is the garlic knots. Oh my god. Every other pizzeria I've been to has made garlic knots that were either too oily, too garlicky, too soggy or soft, etc. This is the only place I buy garlic knots from. $1 for 4-5, and you've got yourself the best food bargain ever. Perfect as a compliment to the already delicious pizza and also as a snack on their own. They're crunchy on the outside, but soft and chewy when you take a bite. The garlic is not overwhelming, but it's still there, just the perfect amount. TL;DR: Go here. Seriously. When they say Brooklyn pizza is the best pizza, they're talking about Delmar's. The Vodka Pizza is killing and the regular slices aren't to be missed - Brooklyn style pizza at it's finest. But if you live nearby you're missing out if you don't try their other menu items, they are equally fantastic. Every dish I've had was perfectly al dente with fresh sauce and a perfect cheese pairing. Granted, there are a lot of other excellent pizza places in Brooklyn, including DiFara's, Grimaldi's, and Spumoni Gardens but, to me, Delmar's is all about the taste without any additional fuss or extended wait time [DiFara's, I'm talking to you]. Real deal Brooklyn pizza. The cheese gets a 10/10 from me sauce 9/10 and the crust 7.5-8/10. The peperoni here.... is the best. Thick slices, amazing when paired with their onions. We went here the day they opened after Hurricane Sandy. They were only serving pizza, the kitchen was still closed. My bf remembers going here when he was a kid so he didn't recognize it with the remodel. We got a regular cheese pizza. As soon as he took a bite he knew it was the same pizza. It was big and sooo good! Sitting there with three New Yorkers I had to fold my slice to fit in. And who knew that garlic powder on pizza was so good!? We ordered a second pizza to go. Short and sweet... Do yourself a favor and get a fresh mozzarella pie. It's absolutely ridiculously delicious. I be now had it 4x and every person who tried it remarked how amazing it was. this pizzeria has some delicious things on their menu like the bacon alfredo slices,yummm!! BUT almost al of them behind the counter all day make and touch pizza,dough,slices,garlick breads, YOUR FOOD which you eat, while handling DIRTY, FILTHY MONEY, F@^&^%$! when i saw that i only now eat dishes from kitchen rarely. no more front counter food. They care not for your health it seems but then again if you eat white processed dough you don't either :) enjoy that delicious pizza with a bit of germs. Rebuilt after hurricane Sandy, I had to go and recheck the pizza quality it's my obligation as I grew up around there. I was not disappointed. Had my usual slice of Sicilian the corner if you don't mind. The sauce which is what makes a great pizza was amazing as always. Delmar has been there for at least as long as I can remember I've never had a bad slice from them. I can't understand why anyone would want chain store pizza. Try a slice from Delmar and then let me know if you will ever order from Domino's again. I'm willing to bet you won't. read more
