I ordered the Ravioli with cheese and the meal was good, no real complaints about it. My complaint would be more about the delivery driver who was adamant I left no tip when I did update it on the grubhub app shortly after I ordered. After I corrected the driver and said I did it on the app he continued to say I didn't and stated he will tell whoever that I don't tip. Why am I going back and forth with the delivery driver? Ordered a Chicken Roll on multiple occasions & the staff was not wearing gloves & was picking up the roll to cut it & put in the to go bag with their BARE HANDS. Quite literally the best Grandma slice I've ever had and it's not even close. Perfectly crispy, insanely flavorful. My friend from Philly visits often, and getting a Grandma pie from here is non-negotiable every time. This is the only true Grandma slice in Brooklyn, most places are just serving square margheritas, but this one is the real deal. Was in the mood for a good ole Brooklyn pizzeria so I took the R Train from the Union stop just to check out this place in Bay Ridge. Worth the trip! More than just the usual plain cheese slice, I was automatically drawn to the Spinach Roll (next to the Eggplant Roll) and couldn't stop there. I highly recommend their Chicken Ceasar Pizza. This pizza has no sauce...it's literally crust with caesar salad, grilled chicken and shaved parmesan cheese. The crust has sesame seeds...what a treat! Omg found this place through TikTok and it's a pleasant surprise. My nieces and I truly enjoyed the food. I ordered sausage and peppers hero with sauce on the side. I've revised my review for Nino's from a 5-star rating to a 4-star. When I had first enjoyed (...and I will never NOT "Enjoy") Nino's Pizza, my impression was that it could use a pinch of salt, and when I say "it", I'm referring to everything; the plain pie, the grandma's pie, the knots and the few other things we've tried. I placed blame of the "imperfection" on myself and chalked it up to my preference for saltier pizza (which was news to me but yanno - Every seven years your taste is supposed to change, so maybe that's what was going on?) ‍ The random day came when we took the suggestion of a neighbor and ordered from a different pizzeria (I won't mention that other restaurant's name in *this* review but if you click my 'Yelp Name' and scroll through my reviews, you'll find it). The pizza from the competing restaurant was precisely how I prefer, and in no way "salty". The slightest bit of additional salt in the competitors sauce allowed a showcase of flavors to POP! Sweetness shared the stage with the acidity present in the tomato sauce. At Nino's, unfortunately the acidity in the tomato sauce steals the show. Basil, onion, garlic - all meld beautifully within the sauce from that extra pinch of salt. At Nino's - the onion and garlic don't get a chance to sweat their flavors into the tomatoes. It's a shame. Crushing how such a tiny attribute could disrupt the potential of perfection that is Nino's. Regardless, Nino's is delicious, that won't change. Unfortunately, I prefer a different pizza restaurant, now. read more

I am extremely disappointed with the customer service I received. I placed an order for two large pies for delivery. My home is only one street away from the pizza place, so the distance is minimal. When I called to place the order, I was told the total would be $44. When the delivery driver arrived, I gave him $45. He initially said the total was $45, which I did not question and paid without issue. However, after I handed him the $45, he appeared confused and repeated the amount. I confirmed that I was giving him what he had stated. At that point, he turned to my cousin and told him to give him $50 instead. His tone noticeably changed, and the interaction became uncomfortable. When I told him he would be taking the $45, he asked if I was not going to tip him. I responded that tipping is not mandatory. He replied sarcastically, saying "Oh really?" and continued making inappropriate comments before leaving. I then called the restaurant and spoke with the manager. Instead of addressing the driver's unprofessional behavior, I was told that the driver is "losing gas" and that I should have paid him more. While I typically do tip, tipping is optional, and it is inappropriate to pressure or shame a customer for not doing so especially when the delivery location is literally one street away. Additionally, what if I was not financially stable and truly did not have extra money to give him? No customer should be made to feel pressured, judged, or uncomfortable for not providing a tip, especially when tipping is optional. This entire experience was unprofessional and unacceptable. I am very dissatisfied with how this situation was handled. read more

The overall rating of this pizzeria is spot on. 3.5/5 is the right rating. Like that is what I would give it myself if I could. The location is sublime, but I will get to the pizza first. The pizza is a bit on the chewy side, but the tomato sauce comes through in a nice, beautiful, red sauce. It is a cheesy slice, so it helped that I purchased a Ginger Ale with it. The owner (very friendly man by the way) told me he likes to put a lot of cheese on his slices - the white slice I ordered had four kinds of cheese on it! The crust? It needed some more time in the oven. But overall it is a solid slice in a solid neighborhood. This pizzeria is in a quiet part of Brooklyn, Bay Ridge. It is quaint, with nobody to hassle you in any way. I also found the people there very nice and friendly. While reading the reviews for Nino's, I noted that the Verrazzano Bridge is right near the pizzeria; if you walk a few blocks up, take a bench and enjoy your pizza. That is exactly what I did, I walked up to the waterfront with my purchase, took a bench, and ate my slices as the sun set behind the Verrazzano Bridge on such a glorious day. As the sun is setting for me in Brooklyn for my search for the best pizza slice in New York City, I do not think Nino's has the best slice in the city. However, Nino's is perfect for that perfect day to watch a perfect sunset in a pretty perfect location, despite its imperfections. read more

There was a man standing, literally as you walk in leaning over the counter without a mask, and no one was saying anything so I did. They allowed him to stand around and touch things, as well as lean over the counter WITHOUT A MASK. And again, no one said anything. The place is always busy the take-out usually has 3 to 5 patrons ordering or picking up. They have tables in the back if you want to sit down and enjoy your pizza. I moved residences (still in the neighborhood) and I don't know what the change was but they've become total douche bags. One time I ordered online and it never arrived...... Tried again another time to give another chance.... weather was cloudy. It snowed couple days prior, cold. And they called me and gave me an ultimatum of increasing my tip to more than 20% due to the "inclement weather" (it was CLOUDY. there was no inclement weather. No snow or rain. I've been eating and enjoying pizza for over 40 years. I've been called a "pizza snob" for at least 20 and I've been reviewing pizza across the USA for about 5 years now. Why is this important? Because Nino's is the penultimate Brooklyn slice for me and I have used them as my metric by which all other pizza is compared. I first came to Nino's in 1986 on a Friday night with some friends and I've been coming back since. Though much more sporadically as I live over 1,000 miles away now. But still, this slice is fantastic and worth going out of your way for if you are near Bay Ridge Brooklyn. Ok, enough about me and onto the pizza!! Here's what you need to know: 1. The pizza crust is cooked to perfection. It's not burnt and definitely not undercooked. Just well done all the way through. Each bite requires a bit of a tear so your jaw will get a bit of a workout, but when you're done you'll know you just had a great slice. Nino's crust is just the right flavor, not overpowered with salt or bland like nothing. Many slices use too much salt to give you an artificial sense of good taste. Nino's is dialed in perfectly. 2. The sauce has just the right blend of Italian herbs and seasoning to enhance the slice without overpowering the tomato flavoring. The sauce penetrates into the crust but never through it to make it soggy. It's well balanced and not overkill on the sweet or savory. 3. The cheese must come from some magical pizza cheese factory because it's always great! Accompanied with the right amount of oil that you'll need a napkin or two but not enough to wreak your digestive system even if you over indulge as I tend to do when here.... Putting this all together, Nino's is the culmination of all my years searching and comparing only to come back to where it all began so many years ago. If I judge others too harshly it's because this is what I think about when I try pizza elsewhere. read more

I was in Bay Ridge with some friends a couple months ago and they told me that I HAD to go to Nino's because they had the best garlic knots in the city. Now, I love garlic knots so I'm skeptical af like, 'yeah, sure, okay.' I stand here now to tell you, Nino's has the best garlic knots in the mf'ing city. In all of Brooklyn and in all of the five boroughs, I have eaten garlic knots. They are my favorite thing to get at a pizza joint. I grabbed four at Nino's and was like 'WHAT IS EVEN HAPPENING!' They are really, really good. The flavor is phenomenal, they're fluffy, and they're stuffed with garlic. I had: -a slice of Grandma (good consistency and flavor) -four garlic knots (oh my god) -one of the garlic knot 'sandwiches' that's sliced with a piece of mozzarella and a pepperoni stuffed inside (oh my god plus) While I took my treats to go, there was some seating available. Margherita pizza is good on the plus side on the negative side place is small with no ambiance & yesterday the person that took my order when I got there was extremely rude & racist. When I asked for official receipt was even asking why I need a receipt, like duh??? He grudgingly gave me one after I insisted he gave me official receipt after I paid it. Then he told me to get out of there. So racist & rude!!! I will NEVER come back there to buy pizza. I rate this pizza place below zero based on my experience. From the perspective of having had pizza at so many places, looking at the surrounding competition, you expect a slice to be up to par. This pizza is good, New York pizza for sure, but it's what I'm used to. If you need a regular slice, you can get a decent slice here, like you can anywhere else. Now for everything else. What surprised me, and off the bat guarantees my return, are the other items they have lined up in the glass counter. I saw things like garlic knot chicken sandwiches, great looking garlic knots, I mean we had a pie coming and still tried a grandma slice and a beef pattie with cheese. I stopped by Nino's for a quick slice. There was a great assortment of pizzas. This was my first time there, so I wanted to try their classic cheese slice. There wasn't anything about it that really stood out to me... it was a pretty good standard slice. It was a little too cheesy and oily for me. The oil was not dripping all over my hands or on the plate, but you can see a healthy layer of it on top of the pizza and I tasted it in my mouth. There were also other items like garlic knots and rice balls. The garlic knots looked like huge dinner rolls. They also had some creative sandwiches with garlic knot buns. Well I'm not sure what to say now I always liked the pizza here and it was my go to when I was running errands to stop and get a slice but when I was in there last week I didn't see any staff I recognized and the guy who took my order couldn't have been less friendly if he tried. No hello, I just told him what I wanted and he put it in the oven. No thank you nothing. Then when I realized the slice was on a small little plate as I was walking out the door I saw the slice was half the size of what I've been getting there for years.
