BBQ Month @delshideout @dinecrg welcomes the flavors of the Philippines created by Chef Martin @chef_ecruz featured this weekend From chicken insal, smoked lechon pork belly, tri tip bistek, shrimp & pork lumpia, pancit, fried potatoes, steamed rice, and comforting tamarind pork soup... this BBQ feast brings smoky Texas BBQ together with Filipino comfort food for the ultimate fusion plate Family-friendly vibes, ice cold drinks, sports on every screen, and that low & slow BBQ goodness make this spot a must try in San Diego.

Meal for 2, beans corn baked potato corn bread as the sides. Pulled pork, brisket, bbq chicken as the entrees.

Had a great quiet July 4th lunch at this spot on the patio with our two dogs. The food is straight fire--we had the meal for 2 as seen in the pic. Definitely try their homemade "thousand Big Mac Chic Filet" sauce on the side, it's way better than the original. They also have spicy and reg BBQ sauce on the table, and the burgers are legit. Our server Maki (pronounced like the fish) was amazing, but honestly, the whole staff is top tier. She checked on us at least 5 times, kept the beer coming, and stayed on top of soda refills. Could not ask for better service. Between the World Cup specials and using the cohen DRg app, I did the math and you save about 7% for every $100 you spend. Great value and great vibs. If you want a solo test drive, definitely check out their Thursday all day burger, fry, and beer combo special also fire.

Absolutely love this place. Amazing customer service as well as their food. I have ate here twice already with my family and we enjoyed it both times and more to come. The workers are very welcoming and talkative to their customers. I appreciated them suggesting hit items to order off the menu and got free banana pudding for a small delay. The place itself is family friendly and nostalgic. Only thing id say is that it's kinda hard to find parking easy, other than that its great!

Brisket
Hanafi M.

I keep forgetting to place a review, primarily because the Brisket is that GOOD! Easy on the wallet too, and they know a little something something about Mac & Cheese. Try it. I promise you'll be satisfied to the extreme. Half-pound meat, any meat, $32.00 plus 2 sides. Save room 4 some Interesting desserts.

3 tacos for Taco Tuesday

Visiting San Diego and the fam needed lunch after a visit at SDSU. Looked on yelp and this came up as highly rated. When I drove up, I was a little nervous because the location seemed odd with it being primary residential apartments but there were a lot of cars especially for mid day Tuesday so we went with it. It was taco Tuesday so I got three tacos and the house margarita. Chicken breast taco was so good and the crispy cod was even better. Margarita was good, simple traditional flavor and for $6 it was a steal! We also ordered the street corn, burger with fries and Cobb salad. Cobb was one of the best and chicken was very flavorful rather than bland and dry. Service was fast and super friendly! Never had to wait looking for water, food, check. Fries were tasty and only tip is if you like them a little crisper then ask for that. Taste is great but depends on personal preference.

MAKI B is the best server, she is so friendly welcoming and on it. We came for a quick and random lunch on our anniversary and she was so fun and energetic. I feel like that's hard to find in food service, but everyone really was great from the second we waited in line to leaving. We had my mini dachshund with us and it was so hot outside and she welcomed us in to wait by the door. When our table wasn't ready they kept updating us and keeping us in the loop. The staff was friendly and so kind. I encountered the manager also and she was bubbly and fun. We had a real fun time laughing with Maki about an order of ranch, simple thing made fun. I can see how this can turn into a locals favorite spot. Will be back! Ambiance is cool, casual, fun and comfortable.

I was craving a pastrami sandwich, and a friend suggested checking out Del's, located where Nicolsi's used to be on Highway 8. It's a great little spot. I was welcomed by a nice selection of local draft beers, which is always a plus. I ordered the Reuben, and it was done very well. The bread was great, and the sauerkraut had good flavor--I just wished there had been a bit more of it, same with the pastrami. Still, the flavor was excellent. For my side, I chose the coleslaw, which was fresh and had a nice crunch. They also offer a solid selection of BBQ meats that I definitely plan to come back and try. Overall, it's well worth a stop.

I went with two friends who both grew up in the Midwest. They ordered the meatloaf, I got the pulled pork, and we all cleaned our plates. They got a ton of burger option ma too. Sides were on point. The vibe is relaxed, plenty of TV's to watched sports. One of my buddies even said it felt a tasted like back in the Midwest. Staff was super efficient and welcoming. Definitely coming back.

First and most important the food here is delicious with good size portions. We love to sit outside where there is a kid area so my kiddos can play with out the stress. Upon coming in to sit today 07/08 we were met by what seemed to be the manager she was quite aggressive and not very kind but our waiter was awesome so he made the service a lot better .

We found out about this place in restaurant week. First plus point for them is they have the areas for the kids to play. My kids had a lot of fun. All of the staffs are very nice and friendly. To be honest, I didn't put too much expectation on the food before I came but it was a surprise for us. All of the food are delicious and the portion is big too. For appetizers we got brisket chili and best mac and cheese. It was so good. The classic burger is great. The meat is well seasoned and juicy. The best is part fowl sandwich, the sauce is a little spicy kick in and the chicken is juicy. I brought the left over home and the next day when I heat up, the chicken still moist and not dry. We got pecan pie and apple crisp. Both are great and not too sweet. I love the vibe here and will definitely come back

I really appreciate how clean this restaurant is for a BBQ place. Too many of them get dirty and sticky but this place is clean and nice. They have their own parking lot which is perfect and it's accessible for people with disabilities. The service was amazing. Kind and knowledgeable staff all around. We got the platter for 2 that included chicken, pulled pork, brisket, corn bread, jalapeno hominy gratin, Mac and cheese, and beans. All about 60 bucks which is well worth it. The pork was by far the best, so juicy and flavorful. We also loved the chicken and brisket even if it was a tad on the dry side. The jalapeno hominy was AMAZING. Totally worth the up charge. What a unique little side dish, definitely something to try. The beans were also great and the Mac and cheese was pretty standard. I'm also super happy with the corn bread, I been to quite a few BBQ places and so far this corn bread has been as close to my mom's as I've found. Will definitely be back.

I was craving comfort food at the end of the year, December 31st, 2025. I didn't know exactly what I wanted, but I decided on a barbecue place by the name of Del's Hideout in San Diego, off of Waring Road. It's the perfect place for comfort food, any kind of barbecue you could possibly want. They have everything and anything barbecue. I didn't want to feel really full or sick to my stomach, so I ordered two brisket sliders. I am not much of a meat eater; I usually eat chicken or fish, but I decided to try the brisket sliders. I also ordered a little cup of mac and cheese. Everything was flavorful, tasty, tangy, and very delicious. I had a very friendly waitress, and the decor is relaxed and casual. They play a great selection of pop and country for a pleasant atmosphere. They had their Christmas tree up and TVs throughout the restaurant with sports on, plus a good-sized bar area. It's just a perfect casual dining spot in a local neighborhood to have delicious barbecue. What are you waiting for? Maybe place this on your dining list for 2026? Happy New Year 2026! . Be safe and God Bless everyone! #sandiego #yelpsandiego #yelp #sandiegocalifornia

Street corn and pulled pork sandwich
Jennifer C.

Came on a Wednesday as did not realize it was "kids eat free day" so the restaurant was packed with families. My friend and I sat at the bar. They have quick the extensive list of beers and I got a hazy ipa that was delicious. For food I got the pulled pork sandwich and opted for the street corn side. The food was delicious! The pulled pork had such a good flavor and didn't feel super fatty. Bbq sauce wasn't overloaded and the slaw added a nice crunch. The street corn was also surprising in a good way. I think they put a little cotija, lime and some spice as it had a little kick. Service was friendly! I think the only thing I'd say that wasn't great is the price is a bit high. It was $20 for just the sandwich and small side.

Since we've never had food from Laos before, we tried the Laos Famous Plate which was a mixture of all of the staples including several kinds of meat jerky, sausage, salad, and rice paper. It did not suit my palate as the papaya salad was very strong on the acidity with some vinegar and fermented vegetables, and the jerky was a little tough to get through. I liked the sausage though, soft and with a unique flavor that is worth the try. The Nam Khao pork had a lot of different flavors and textures mixing together which also makes for a unique dish. I love the peanuts and the lime on the side. The rice is deep fried and crunchy. There is some "cheesey" flavor to it, though there's no cheese. This is a good one for anyone who likes the sides or apps at a Viet or Thai place and wants to mix it up. Finally, we did go basic (or classic) and got a pad thai with shrimp. It's a little on the sweet side, and I do wish there was more shrimp and peanuts given, but the noodles itself is solid and the portion of noodles is good.

The aioli they use is to die for -- can't hurt to get a side of it with any sandwich! The restaurant is situated on the corner of Park Blvd. and Polk Ave. (more generally, it's on the strip of Park Blvd. between University Ave. and El Cajon Blvd.). Great for lunch hour or a weekend date. Update: Came back today with my friend and we ordered the B3 and the Turkey & Cheddar Mousse sandwiches, plus sides of potato salad and cucumber salad, and a double chocolate cookie with pistachio and sea salt. Everything was really good, but the Turkey & Cheddar Mousse sandwich was the star of the show. The cookie was great too.
