Incredible sushi at a great value. The pieces are huge, and the service is charming and very friendly! It is a small venue with outdoor seating only, on the second floor of the town center. Very much worth a visit if youre a local or out of town traveler.

Absolutely delicious! Found this place searching for sushi nearby. The rolls are MASSIVE! I definitely was not expecting the rolls to be so big. Full of flavor and definitely satisfied my sushi craving. If you're a fan of baked rolls, get either the baked salmon or the dynamite. They're so good! Everything was yummy; even the California roll. Support this local business and you will not be disappointed!

DelSushi operates out of a second level suite in the Villa La Jolla Plaza that is in close proximity to the UCSD campus. The seating was all outdoors in a narrow corridor in front of the entrance. You can't sit inside, and orders were taken at the doorway like during the middle of the pandemic. A menu sheet with photos along with a multiple page menu booklet were available for viewing. The focus was not only for takeout and delivery but also towards the nearby students with a late night closing time of 11:30 pm. Over thirty types of maki rolls were offered with the most expensive ones priced at $17.99. Appetizers, wonton soup, dumplings, potstickers, and rice bowls were the other categories so it wasn't only sushi being sold here. All of the menu prices seemed reasonable, especially for those on a limited budget like college campus residents. I chose a Love Love Roll and the Pork, Shrimp & Chive Dumplings for my meal. It took at least 10 minutes for the kitchen to prepare the two items. The roll was riceless and consisted of six pieces of tuna, spicy tuna, and avocado served in a plastic takeout container. The spicy tuna had a light bit of heat to it. The dumplings came as a quantity of twelve. They were freshly boiled and served on a rectangular plate. Condiments like soy sauce, vinegar, and hot sauce were provided on the side. For $13.99, the quality was good for such a price. If you have a late night sushi craving and live close by, then DelSushi can satisfy that urge.

This place isn't awful per se but they cheap out on ingredients. I ordered 3 rolls and the fish/eel was so thinly sliced I felt cheated. These sushi rolls are big but mostly fake crab. The avocado is cut at an angle to make it seem like it's a decent sized piece. But when you turn the rolls over you can't see the avocado on the other side. Prices are on the cheaper side and you definitely get what you pay for :/ I recommend seeking out other sushi options if you want to actually eat sushi and not repeated mouthfuls of fake crab.

This is a great late night sushi spot to try! (and it accepts triton cash for ucsd students) There were several sauce options and each roll was pretty good. The spicy tuna crunch roll was definitely my favorite and really refreshing. The spot only has outside sitting from what I saw but there is a good amount of seating. If you want to eat there I'd recommend it on a night that isn't so chilly!

I found this place on-line, site unseen, and walked up to pick my order up from a small, kitchen-only sushi spot (there are a few seats outside, but not really a place you want to dine at). It seems family run, and when I said my name, the woman almost apologized for the fact the maguro I ordered was really otoro. Ok, wow! Yes please! I go to a sushi place in America for the fresh fish, not cooked, and this is the best sushi and nigiri I have had in a long time (if not attempting to go to a Michelin star type place). What a find! Also, I would have spent much less money if I knew the nigiri orders contained 8 pieces instead of the more usual 2 ... but no matter because my kids gobbled it up. Highly recommend this place and wish I lived here instead of the Bay Area because this would be a regular in my rotation.

The food was absolutely amazing. We tried the baked salmon and that was delicious and I wish we had more than two! My favorite part of Delsushi is how generous they are with the fish, especially with the salmon roll, that's definitely a must have. I'm pretty sure the first picture is of the del sushi roll and it was so huge we had to cut it up so that felt a little wrong. Service was great and quick(but not too quick that it was premade if you know what I mean). Lovely little place and the patio was nice but definitely more of a take out place but the seating was nice.

Oh I was craving late night sushi, and I really really wanted to love this roll! I'm a huge fan of baked rolls and lobster... yes, please! Unfortunately, the execution of this wasn't that great. Way too much mayonnaise cloaked the flavor of even the lobster and the roll was so mushy. If I tried this place again I would avoid this roll and go for a raw one.

The sushi is always so good and fresh here and the owners are very nice. When we went to pick up our order, they gave us a sample of a new menu item and it was delish

I was completely unsatisfied when I ordered my first time at delsushi online last night. I sent my order at 10:36p.m. last night and my food arrived an hour and 45 minutes later. Whilst waiting, I called the restaurant multiple times and they said that it will arrive soon. 20 minutes later, I called again and they replied with, and I paraphrase, "our orders are out and your food should arrive shortly". I called a third time half an hour later and I received the same message. Finally, after receiving my food, already dissatisfied, I open by two boxes of sushi only to find that they weren't cold anymore. Sushi, especially with RAW fish, should ALWAYS be kept cold, or too much bacteria will grow on it. There goes my 24 dollars. Of course, I wouldn't expect much for a take out sushi place, but at least have the respect to serve food that's meant to be fresh. Perhaps your fish might not be the freshest, but even restaurants who have lower standards know to deliver sushi to their customers COLD, or at least mildly cold. read more

if you're up studying late at night and don't have time to make food or run and buy food, just call delsushi and they'll deliver it to you! the food quality isn't the best, but they're still pretty good if you're a starving college student. read more

This flavorful and enough for two adults. We also ordered the crispy rice salad with chicken where the staff blended the dressing in the salad for us. Both salads were fresh and not overbearing on the dressing, which I will get again. The chocolate chip cookie for dessert was soft and chewy. I almost always get the chimichurri steak with garlic parmesan mushrooms and mashed potatoes. But honestly, you can't really go wrong. It's build your own plate. I've never had a side that I've straight up disliked, though a special shout out to the mushrooms and truffel fries. You can order at the kiosk or at the register. My mom likes to order at the register, but the kiosk almost never has a wait. We've never had to wait too long for our food to come out either. Water and to go boxes are self serve. They're conveniently located at a little self serve station by the door. They have a nice patio and outside seating area, though it can get a little loud when it gets busy. Some of the furniture could definitely use a little refresh (some of the tables are getting sticky/tacky due to the varnish aging or something similar). Though, overall the decor is cute.

Yes! To this place! The staff and atmosphere made my whole day better! I was just getting off the road and notice this place was open till 2am I really lucked out again with finding something to eat after a day of no food. I ordered and the chefs where really cool and energetic it was refreshing after feeling like a zombie fe driving all over the green earth today. Asking me how you doing buddy inviting me in to sit and relax started a roll for me before I even knew I was ordering it. I ordered 3-4 rolls and just said toss it all together! I was starving I watched them prepare everything and they really did do a great job with their presentations and how fast they where was really cool to watch they where singing and making jokes other customers sat next to me and enjoyed the great atmosphere they provided really good vibes. I sat and ate it was actually really fresh and the rice was good too not to sticky, the avocado was fresh. The sauce was great as well. I am a second year at UCSD and I've been ordering delsushi for two years now. It is one of my favorite delivery places! They know where all the buildings are on campus and ordering online is pretty simple. My favorite rolls are the baked lobster, double double and the hawaiian rolls. The baked lobster is the best by far and I order one almost everytime. There is plenty of lobster and one is enough for a quick snack. For a full dinner, I usually order two rolls and that is more than enough. Also, when I am studying for midterms/finals and have no time to go out, I just order in and also get a coffee and just study while I wait for the food. It is convenient and the food is pretty good. The best part is that they are open until 2am! read more

Sushi quality is not the best. However, I think most people eat Del Sushi for three reasons. One, it is super close to University of California, San Diego. Two, they do delivery. Three, they stay open late. Somehow, these factors outweigh the poor quality of food and high price tag for some people. As far as the food goes, the rice is soggy and lacks proper amount of rice vinegar and sugar. The crab meat is of course all imitation. Unlike Cafe Japengo, where they mix the imitation with real crab to make a decent taste in the end. Lots of cooked rolls. Many of the rolls have lots of super sweet sauce as a means of making the sushi taste good while minimizing cost. read more

Came in after a movie on the weekend the place was a little busy but we where seated fairly quickly. Our waitress was super friendly and told us the best they had. We came in Shochu which was at a good price and tasted really amazing here! We normally like to stop and try restaurants shochu and this place was the best! Our waitress really made the rolls sounds so good so we all tried one. They where so fresh and delicious I finished all of mine! I enjoyed the Volcano roll it was really spicy which I loved! It also came with eel which was so fresh! We will definitely make this our spot after we enjoy the movies. Great location to go on a date! read more

Instead of getting Domino's late at night, I'd definitely prefer ordering from here. After discovering this place through Yelp, of course, I know that I can satisfy my late night munchies while studying for midterms here. Their baked rolls are SOO good and I feel pretty bad sometimes when I can't tip the delivery drivers as much since I'm a poor college student :/ There's nothing better than eating sushi DELIVERED to you and chilling on the couch watching the Lakers game with Kobe tearing up the court. Overall, I'd recommend any baked rolls and their shrimp crunch roll's pretty bomb too. read more

Americanized sushi !!! I love it. Also, night delivery. That was awsome. Their volcano rolls are to die for! so hot and good. Last night I visit to study with my friend's dorm. He ordered couple rolls then finally we got hot and spicy yummy baked rolls (volcano, lobster roll) wow!!! that was really different experience. At late night, we got delivery delicious food... I never think about this. so impressed and amazing. Totally food was really good and delivery was little late (but wasn't big deal for final season) so I think they deserve to get 5 stars. read more

Tried all their baked rolls (scallop, lobster, dynamite, etc) and they are very yummy! Their other rolls are very good too. Very fresh considering they deliver at such late times. Just to name a few of my favorites: baked lobster, dragon, and love love! It's definitely one of the most convenient ways to fix up a quick, fresh meal through del sushi delivery. They have the best dumplings in San Diego, you'd be hard pressed to believe such good dumplings in a sushi restaurant. Also they have great sushi!!! Love here!!!! 100% come back!!!! read more
