BEST HOT DOG I EVER HAD!

Look, you NEED to get their hot dogs. Big, delicious, has that fresh off the grill char. Like if it had been cooked at an amazing cookout.

Our server was so friendly and prompt, but it has been 55 minutes for a burger and chicken sandwich. We came to a quarter of full resturant before the parade ended. The worst part is the band started up again. It is ridiculously loud! We can't even talk to each other at the table. Our amazing server asked the manager to get it turned down. He said " F@#! no!" The two stars they have is generous. We just got food in to go boxes to leave. The burger and the chicken on the sandwiches were so over cooked. They were hockey pucks! We don't even eat fastfood, but it would have been better. We are up here all the time, so sad. We will never spend any money in the Delta again. Seriously, they deserve zero stars.

Visiting Virginia City is always fun. We were hungry and places to eat in Virginia City is really limited. We were surprised to see the Delta Restaurant open again for dinner. We headed to the bar area and saw they were once again offering lunch items. We decided to give them a try. We sat by the huge screen playing 80s music videos, yes, love it! A server came up and took our order. We ordered the prime rib dip, a salad and a kid's chicken strips for my 88 year old mom. The wait was longer than we expected, around 20-25 minutes. However, when we got our food it was really good. My daughter loved her chicken salad and was given 2 salad dressing. My husband and I split the prime rib dip. It was very good...it could have used maybe one more slice of meat but still good. My mom really enjoyed her chicken strips. She couldn't finish it so I tried it. It was cooked perfect and very juicy. Prices was not bad at all. I used the restroom here. They had plenty of stalled in the women's. They were clean as well. Definitely come in, use the restrooms, order some food and check out the music videos, bar and suicide table in the back

Manager Steven planned a wonderful reception for our wedding. Honestly he made dreams come!!!! We had Carol as our personal bartender who is amazing, wonderful attitude and always smiling. Tina was precise on exactly how we wanted everything us walking into such a beautiful evening. STEVEN!!! Fullfiled every request, every moment, takes constant time away from his busy time to constantly over look everyone and check on. combo of Delta Saloon, amazing planning, food and customer service I can not be more impressed with management and service coming together to make it happen! Thank you Delta Saloon!

Food was decent service was terrible. We sat there for about 10 minutes before we got served. Waited another 20 minutes for drinks and food. Our waitress gave us a singular set of utensils and didn't give us any napkins. We had to go ask for some. The infamous suicide table is very underwhelming. It's just propped up in a back corner of the restaurant. Was expecting a more detailed display. Will not be returning.

Yummy food. Can't wait for the restaurant to open!!

Went there yesterday for dinner. Restaurant isn't open yet but bar food was great. We had the prime rib dip and steak sandwich! The only thing they're lacking is more employees. The girl last night was amazing, she was new but she was hustling. Manager is desperately looking for experienced, dependable servers!!!

The place really looks like a restaurant equipment graveyard. The music they were playing was ok thus the 1 star. The drinks other than the draft beer were horrible. It is a shame as this place could be a gold mine.

Initially we stopped here to check out the suicide table and all of the other historical memorabilia. We noticed that they sell house made sarsaparilla so we had to get us some to try. Very good and refreshing on a summer day. It was quiet not too busy. The guy behind the counter could have been a little more friendlier

The service was great and the remodeling of the restaurant into the steakhouse turned out really nice. They do table side salads, entrees and desserts. We chose to order a standard meal. The 1st course was a choice of the foie gras (good but had an inordinate amount of fig jam on top) or escargot (very good). The second course was French onion soup or Niçoise salad. Both were very good. The third course was a choice of poached sole with hollandaise (the hollandaise was extremely spicy and way over powered the delicate sole. The sole was cooked until it was mushy) or roasted chicken in brown sauce (some were very good and others were dry and overcooked). The fourth course was roasted marrow bones with golden raisins and brie with lingonberry. Good but very rich. The fifth course was beef bourguinon that was excellent. For dessert we had crepe Suzette's that were okay but very sweet and paired with an extremely sweet ice wine. Too much sweet on sweet. Some hot bread and butter, others didn't. Same with water, some glasses were empty and never filled. Overall it was way too much food for me. It said $150 all inclusive so we assumed that meant tax and tip was included. We were wrong. When we got the bill they added tax and 20% gratuity. Then on top of that they charged 3% for paying with a credit card. It ended up being a $400 dinner. That was more than we anticipated in Virginia City. Additionally, apparently they ran out of one of the wines and some people were offered a different one and then got charged $20/glass for it. All in all, it was fun (more because of the company than the experience), the food was mostly good and the atmosphere was nice and service was okay. I felt bad for other couples trying to have a romantic NYE dinner and having to sit next to a group of 20. We'll choose a different location next year.

The ordering process was a little disengaging from the start. You can either scan a QR code to order or walk up to the counter if you prefer not to use technology. What I found a little ironic was that after ordering this way, the checkout process still suggests a 25% tip for the service. I'm certainly happy to tip for good service, but the experience felt more like ordering takeout than dining at a higher-end restaurant. For our meal, we had a filet, small wedge salad, and potatoes, along with a Jack and Coke Zero and a michelada. The steak was cooked perfectly and the food was genuinely excellent. The staff was also nice and friendly, so I have no complaints there. The biggest issue was the atmosphere. It was extremely windy outside, and the front door was left open, so we were freezing for much of the meal. They also brought out five cookies for dessert. One was soft and enjoyable, while the other four were so hard that they honestly became the comedy portion of the meal. Our total was around $90. I did not leave a 25% tip. If this were a traditional full-service steakhouse, I would have tipped more than $10 because I'm happy to reward good service. But at this price point, I expect the luxury of sitting at my table, having someone check on us, being able to ask questions, and receiving full table service from start to finish. I don't really want to stand at a cash register to order when I'm spending $90 on dinner. Would I come back? Probably not. The food was very good and the steak was cooked perfectly, but at this price point, I'm looking for a full-service dining experience rather than something that feels closer to upscale counter service.

We think there may have been some recent movements by the owners, and for the purposes of this review, I'll go with this Yelp entry the matches the pictures to what we experienced. Today was a quiet post-New Years day and Gayle wanted to dine someplace besides the Red Dog Saloon (our "usual"). The Canvas Cafe (or whatever it's called now) was just a block or so down C street and open. The dining room was small, cute, inviting, and warm. It was also a "one man show" today as one guy was working both the kitchen and the dining room (and very well). I especially appreciate a really busy guy who maintained a relatively high service level, with a smile and a generous side of patience. We all ordered sandwiches, including French Dip for Gayle, Smash Burger for Darling Granddaughter, and a grilled Chicken Pesto for me. Everything was delicious, with my only regret being that I should have ordered the impressive side salad that Gayle chose. A small bag of chips really didn't do the sandwich justice. I would have also preferred a beer, but there was no alcohol served today, and my bottomless glass of lemonade was more than just fine. Gayle and I agreed that we'd love to come back in whatever main place or annex. It's a fair drive back to Genoa from VC, and we were happy to head down the hill full and happy.
