Friday late morning we were lucky to get a booth!! Every time we drive past seems busy.. so glad we went in. The decor inside ., cosmic and bright. The menu is quite eccentric and tough to read. The design is fun.. but got lost in the designs etc. Plenty to chose from. I ordered the cheeseburger.. so good!' So big I couldn't finish it. Great service and were in and out in less than and hour!! love that. We will be returning. read more

Friendly staff, great service. Food was good and served very fast. This was my first time here and will definitely be coming back.

We went on a Sunday mid-morning, and the wait wasn't too bad. They told us about 15 minutes so we walked the plaza while we waited but I guess our name was called only a couple minutes after putting it on the list because when we came back they went through a handful of people. Our waitress was really friendly and efficient and we appreciated that considering there were only a few servers working. It was a nice place the inside seemed like a typical diner along with the space themed art on the walls. Not sure if the other location in the strip district is the same. Now for the food, it wasn't bad I had the mixed grill with over easy eggs and sausage. One thing I will say were the veggies weren't fully cooked they were kinda soggy, had a crunch still. My fiancé had the country fried chicken with biscuits. He thought it was very taste and the chicken was moist. The only thing about both dishes was the lack of seasoning. Met a couple old friends here today...a bit of a jaunt for us all, but kinda midway between all our homes. First time for me at this restaurant (diner?). One of the fellows recommended it, and I'm sure glad he did! In a nutshell - clean, friendly and efficient waitstaff that kept up with everything. Good coffee. Terrific greek omelett (my choice) and the other dishes delivered look good and were wolfed down as was mine. Very reasonably priced. I'll be stopping by again next time I'm in the area. More back-to-back reviews... but this is the dramatic conclusion to my Pittsburgh trip. Before heading back to Virginia, we asked the front desk where would be a good restaurant to go for brunch (or lunch, didn't matter). At first the receptionist said First Watch, which we both knew well, considering there's a few locations in Northern Virginia, but when she suggested DeLuca's, only 5 minutes away from the hotel, it was fairly hard to pass up, especially since it is a Pittsburgh only establishment; a nice way to wrap up the weekend festivities. When we pulled up to the restaurant, it was clear that this was a popular place, even on a Sunday. Throngs of people were coming and going, and we even had ourselves a 15 minute wait before anything got started. But once we got a table, things got interesting. The menu has a plethora of everything you would expect for breakfast, brunch, and lunch (the joint closes at 3 pm). I was undecided between the pancakes, French toast, Eggs Benedict, and the Chicken and Waffles. My friend got pancakes and eggs. When it came to my order, I asked our server and she suggested the Chicken and Waffles (which is a PA staple). My meal also came with eggs, which I wanted over medium. When the food arrived, it came in a lot of plates, and a lot of it on them. The pancakes were HUGE; my friend said they were fluffy and tasty. He liked his eggs. For my dish, the chicken was just okay, I was slightly disappointed, but the waffle was really good. Nice taste and a good complement to the chicken. My eggs were salty and buttery, and I felt it as soon as the meal ended. But I'm happy I got what I got. I can get French toast and pancakes anywhere. Chicken and Waffles are harder to find in Virginia (outside of the chain restaurants). The bill was fairly reasonable too. Tell you what, overall, the cost for food in this area is really cheap and reasonable. I can see why people want to move here, the overall cost of living is just fantastic. While the experience didn't blow me away (my friend like it), this meal concluded a Pittsburgh weekend I probably won't forget for a while. read more

Went in to get a milkshake, 2:30 on a Sunday. Girl I ordered from BEGGED other staff to make the milkshake. After I tipped her. When they all said no she made it but complained to me how long it would take to clean the machine again. I asked if she could add Carmel to a Banana milkshake, she said yes. Recently I was in the greater in the Pittsburgh area, and I wanted to try a new diner. A quick google search found the DeLuca's Diner. DeLuca's Diner is located in a large shopping center. The inside is brightly painted with the solar system. There are plenty of booths, tables, and a small bar as well.  It is stereotypical of a diner.  Coffee: The coffee was brewed hot and fresh, and the waitress refilled it often. In all, I have no complaints.  While the mugs given were not personalized, they have many options for sale.  I ended up purchasing a personalized coffee mug (which the proceeds go to a local animal shelter!).  How awesome is that?  Food: There are plenty of options from all day breakfast and lunch. All day lunch isn't something you find everywhere! From the tables around me, everything looked delicious.  I decided to order a breakfast sandwich. It came with meat, cheese, and an egg, all on a homemade piece of bread. It was a great sandwich, and I have no complaints.  Service: The waitress was friendly, and our food came out quickly. I couldn't have asked for better service. Overall Thoughts/Summary: I enjoyed DeLuca's Diner, and if I'm in Pittsburgh again, I will be back.  The pancakes at a table nearby looked amazing, and I want to try those next. read more

I've come here several times, and it's a great addition to Robinson; it's a nice break from all of the chains in the area. It gets so busy on the weekends, so I prefer coming on the weekdays, if possible. I can't say it's the best breakfast restaurant, I've ever been to. Sometimes the food is inconsistent, probably because they are trying to turn tables quickly and quality goes down a bit. Today my boyfriend and I had a pretty good experience. He got the MOAB (mother of all burritos) and it definitely lived up to the name. A little bit greasy, but the flavor was good. I made my own Asiago, avocado, sweet sausage omelette. You could tell it was made too fast because the ingredients weren't cut up and they were unevenly placed. We split chocolate chip pancakes also, and those were tasty. Overall, things can be inconsistent, so I rarely come here, but I think it's a great place to have in our area! read more

I got a beef with Deluca's, love the service and the food was exactly what we expected, However..... they allow dogs into the restaurant. This morning at breakfast an elderly gentleman brought a dog in. The dog proceeded directly towards us and took a dump 3' from our table. I have a weak gag reflex, but was able to control myself, through the visual, and then the smell, and then again when the gentleman attempted to clean up the mess by smearing it around with a napkin..... he was not completely successful and gave up. No staff confronted this individual, and did not address the mess until I complained. DOGS DON'T BELONG IN A RESTAURANT. The man didn't have any observable physical impairment that would suggest this was a service dog. He did not present any documentation at the counter suggesting this was a service dog. I don't know how helpful an emotional support dog is when it causes someone to make a scene and scream and yell at the owner. We didn't find out this morning but we're very close. I feel like the restaurants policy put me in an very uncomfortable position. Henceforth I will request full refund from any restaurant that allows dogs to enter. read more

Diner in a shopping center tucked up against a beer distributor; nothing to see here. BUT open the door and you ramble into a beehive of activity hostess gets you seat with a friendly yet efficient manner. Waitstaff gets your drinks while you pour over their awesome breakfast menu (did not bother to even peak at the rest). Crepes, pancakes, waffles, French-toast and samples flying by as meals are being delivered all around you. I had pancakes (HUGE) my wife had crepes and daughter had the French- toast nothing but smiles! I had eggs and bacon as well all done perfectly. You can see the kitchen staff at work and they were in the zone! Even the people bussing the tables were attentive to doing their jobs well. The food was superior but what truly impressed me was watching a staff working together to make every customer have a great experience. Get place for breakfast! Never had lunch, but I believe even if I came during lunch I would still eat breakfast. Twice a month, my son brings me here and the movie. It's always busy on weekends and may have to wait for a while but worth. We try something new every time we come and everything is always good, and too much food. We waited over 20minutes outside in rain/cold which we understood. The staff is allowing groups to stand around tables and the doorway. When we finally got called the waitress wanted us to sit with people standing around.. umm NO. She was rude and said then you can wait again. We got there just before you had to wait and the place is pretty large, so it is popular. Hubby loved Deluca's. Excellent customer service. Great food at reasonable prices. We originally wanted to visit the historical Deluca's in The Strip district, but once we learned that there was one right around the corner from our hotel, we opted to avoid the crowds and parking situation. This Deluca's is very convenient for those staying in the same area. It's located in a suburbanite strip mall. The food portions were good. The prices were reasonable and breakfast tasted great. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful. I, too, thoroughly enjoyed this local gem and will certainly be returning again. read more

Everyone was working in the kitchen and our food came incredibly fast, considering the place was packed. Only slight complaint was paying at the register. This was my first time at either of the DeLuca's locations and my wife and I are glad that we stumbled upon it! It has the feel and look of a diner. Seating is plentiful, booths and tables large enough for comfort, and spacing of tables not too close to others. Our server was friendly, warm, kind, attentive, and efficient, and she performed a quality check. Our food was delivered within a reasonable period of time. Our dishes were ample and delicious: corned beef and swiss cheese omelette, rye toast, home fries with cheese, a cheeseburger with perfectly prepared onion rings, and a chocolate milkshake. All of this was $36.13 before gratuity, quite fair for the quality and quantity of food. The menu is extensive, containing virtually anything one could hope for from a diner. I like that the restaurant is open seven days a week. I wish it were open for dinner. We shall return soon! read more

Have been wanting to check this place out, who doesn't love a good diner? Atmosphere descent, decor descent - my kids are into NASA & space so it was on point. It was busy but slowing down when we got there, seem'd like there were a lot of regulars which is usually a good sign. Party of 6 (with a baby) 4 open booths - 1 up front by 2 open tables all 3 up front seem'd to be left open because it was very cold outside and every time the door opened you got hit with a blast of cold air. Party ahead of us greeted warmly and told there's tables in the back, let's get you away from the door. Us, you can take the front booth. There were still 2 other booths open not the front booth but that's where we were placed. Needed a high chair was told they're in the back, someone's getting it but after 10 minutes of waiting I went and got it myself.. also, table was dirty and had chocolate milk spilled on seat and under table was a mess. No one even offered to wipe it down. Staff seem'd nice, food was just ok.. I ordered the SuperBowl no kraut but when it arrived it was missing apples and sour cream, that never appeared. Had to beg for ranch for my oldest because she ordered chicken and fries and was never asked for a dipping sauce. My husband ordered a burger and said it was ok, nothing special, just another burger and the sweet potato fries were also ok. Proportions were generous, another child ordered silver dollar pancakes they were the size of regular pancakes but she didn't care. We were never asked for refills on anything but if we wanted boxes as soon as we went to leave. Hoping this was just a miss this day but $62 and tip later.. not too thrilled to try this place again. Service and experience could have been better, it definitely could have been warmer than putting 2 parents with 4 kids at the blast booth that gets the cold air every time the door opens. The next few people who came in were welcomed warmly and given their pick not just told where to go, no one was ever offered the 2 open tables by the door. First time stopping here on a busy Sunday morning around 10am. It's a small diner with a lot of people coming in and out. Staff is very friendly but getting seated was really hectic and confusing. I could tell there was a bit of a communication issue going on with some staff. Once we were seated the menu is huge and there's tons of yummy choices. They have lunch and dinner options as well. I ordered the eggs Benedict and my fiance ordered pumpkin pancakes. Portions are really big! We enjoyed the food. They have Mancini bread here too which was yummy. They accidentally forgot the Turkey sausage we ordered but the kitchen was def short staffed-which we understand everywhere is short staffed these days. It wasn't a big deal and I could see the kitchen was getting slammed with orders. We were so full from what we ordered anyhow haha. I would probably come back for lunch or dinner when it's not as busy, breakfast was just a bit too hectic and took a bit too long. I believe we got there after their rush because the floor was totally trashed. Although the employees were great about clearing off the tables, they certainly could have taken a broom to the floor; especially since at this point there were only several tables ever occupied while we were there. Anyhow, I had an omelet with avocado & Asiago. While the taste was good, I personally prefer a fluffy omelet, whereas theirs are overcooked a bit with a slight brown "burn" to it. It makes it a bit dry. Hubby had eggs, ham & pancakes. He told me how good their ham is and he was right! Absolutely delicious. Of course I tried his pancake, too. So before visiting Pittsburgh, I asked friends from the area where I needed to go for food. And DeLuca's Diner on the Strip was recommended. Naturally since Sunday was nicer out than on Saturday, that area was not favorable for parking. So we saw that a second location was open about 20+minutes out. Sweet, so we made our was to this location under the thought that we'd have no problems. I wish I had a crystal ball, hell I would've settled for a magic 8 ball. We go inside and there are two other couples waiting. Cool no problem. The wait was barely five minutes. Get seated in a booth. Great! Look over the menu. Order a Large orange juice. The server comes back we place our order. I order the California Benedict, and then the other order was the Omelette Special. Alright, Simple enough! Then I start observing. The booth next to us, a party of five, seemed to get there orders, but not at the same time, and the timing between their orders being delivered was staggered at best. This seemed troubling, but I kept observing. At one point one of the bidders was sweeping near us and made some loud comment about how he "needed to get paid." Um awkward. Oh look another plate came for the party of five, still three more to go. Needless to say it took awhile for them to get their orders. This continued to be unsettling. Then I overhear the booth behind me, their server apologized, and told them that she'd give them a discount for the inconvenient wait time. Wow, that's cool. The whole time we waited, we never once were visited by our server, given an update on the order. No offer of coffee. Almost 45min goes by and we get our food. 45 minutes, and it was close to closing time. Food arrives. And presentation was .......lacking at best. My home fries looked different from those on the other plate. My overall plate just wasn't great. The omelette was burnt. Like making an omelette should be apart of Breakfast 101. Cooking multiple orders shouldn't be rocket science, contrary to the outer space mural on the wall. When it came time to pay. We asked if we could leave the tip with the cashier. She said to just leave it on the table, well the table was already being bussed, and after the busser made that comment, we weren't exactly jumping to drop it on the table. Maybe it's a locals favorite, maybe the original spot is better. But I wouldn't waste the time going here again if I'm back in Pittsburgh. Service is key, even if thevwait is horrendous. read more

My friend took me here, after months of us meaning to try it. The location is in a plaza (near IKEA), but the old timey diner makes you feel like you've stepped back into time. The dining furniture was worn, but clean. Very vintage. The waitress was annoyed we didn't know what we wanted to eat within 2 minutes. She gave us coffee and warm cream, but never asked if we wanted a refill. Our food came our fast and the order was accurate. My eggs were very oily/buttery so I only ate one yolk (over easy), it was cold. My pancakes looked great, but were flavorless. It was the first time I thought "did I just order lumpy, mushy flour for food?". I ate most of the topping, but was underwhelmed. My friend enjoyed her meal, so I pretended that I had eaten earlier. went to this location over the weekend because I was meeting some friends for lunch. the food was alright, a bit overpriced for how bland it was. someone behind me got the seafood omelette and I almost passed out from how rank it smelled. Guess they liked it, smelled like old fish to me. I was telling a friend about it at work which reminded me to write a review. I got pancakes, and they sort of tasted like bacon grease on their own but enough syrup and they were good. eggs were good. coffee was bad, but i think the server knew that, she was funny. food came out fast, no complaints there, we were in and out, thank god. I was getting hot because it was 70 degrees out in October. I was sweating, the workers were sweating, my glass was sweating. Guess they had the heat on because weather was going to be cold again. no idea. other customers kept making them close the doors. if the point is forcing customers from not hanging out, they got the system down. I didn't want to stay. never had a bad time at their strip location though but I guess they are owned by different people? different management maybe? not sure.
