This establishment has very poor service. Though they have excellent food it took 30 minutes for us to get our check and the waitress was clearly too busy goofing off to come to our table. read more

Gross! Food is not good, and its dirty. Service isn't very friendly. Every time I've eaten here, they were always out of certain food, and the silverware wasn't clean. Go to Bob Evan's or Eat N' Park instead of here. read more

I really dont like send messages like this but this one I had to. My sister and I went into Dennys tonight for a quick bite before heading home. I ordered a sandwich with fries which turned out fine. My sister ordered the french toast slam. The waitress we had must of been new because she didnt ask about how she wanted her eggs during our order. When my sister got her food everything was good we thought but as she bit into her eggs there was a dark brown hair . My sister decided she would just not eat that part of the eggs and move on to the other side. But unfortunately on the otherside of the eggs there was another hair. We were grossed out at this point and told our waitress Amber. She said sorry let me grab you some new ones and I said thats okay but the waitress insisted and said we would get new ones. We waited . Not even 5mins later we are handed the check and told to have a goodnight. No new eggs were delivered as they insisted before hand... and worse it we found another hair! Only this time it was in her french toast. ... I look down at our check to find that meal that had 3 hairs in it wasnt removed. I paid almost $10 for a meal that had 3 hairs in It. Kinda wish I didnt have to honestly. Disappointed on this run to Dennys. Definitely gonna to have to reconsider coming back .. that was a little gross for me. read more

Giving one star only because there is no way to give zero. I used to have enjoyable meals at this Denny's a couple decades ago when I lived in Altoona, and since I'm visiting the area, decided to return there for dinner. Very disappointing! Bad food, terrible service, filthy floors, filthy bathroom. Took near an hour to get served, for which the waitress kept blaming the kitchen staff and the fact they had a couple of large groups in right before us. It's a restaurant--if you can't deal with groups, then get out of business. And yes, it is your fault as well. If you're having problems with the kitchen staff then light a fire under them, or get the manager involved. That's your job, for gosh sake; learn how to do it. read more

The food is mediocre, but it's over shadowed by terrible service. I've seen new waitresses, but they are busy talking too much sometimes to realize you sat down. Only went again because I haven't been dissapointed in a while and they were the only people open other than sheetz. They need a more serious staff overall read more

Denny's in Altoona used to be wonderful. Great wait staff, always clean, food and portions were always tasty and plentiful. Nowadays, everything is cooked badly, tastes worse, is usually wrong, and is overpriced for what you get. Wait times are ridiculous and wait staff are barely a shadow of the friendly people they used to have. It's a real disappointment to see where it's ended up from where it was originally. The ranch is still pretty good, though ... literally the only good thing I can say about this place anymore. read more

Went there with my family after a drs. appointment. Was very disappointed. It took awhile to get a seat. Usually the hostess that seats us would get our drink order. We waited over 10+ mins. before the waitress even came to get our drink order. We waited so long for our drink order we were able to figure out what we wanted to eat and ordered everything together. We had a clear sight of the kitchen pick-up window and it was piled with food waiting for the slow waitresses to pick up the orders. I'm sure a lot of people received lukewarm food. Most of our food was warmish, hash browns were burnt. When waitress finally checked on us we were asked if we were getting dessert and we said no. She was to get our check along with the people sitting at the table behind us. However, she never brought our check back. She gave the people at the table behind us theirs and they checked out and left the building and we still hadn't received ours. About 10 mins. later, she comes back again and asked if we wanted dessert, again we said NO and she went to get our check this time. We checked out and left. This was the worst experience we had here in a long time. read more

They did a much remodel and the food is just what it is! The burger my hubby had was good! I had a waffle with fruit it was ok. My mom ordered a dinner meat was good. The dinner came with mashed potatoes, really not a full scoop! The pancakes are always good! It's hit and miss like all Denny's!!! read more

I love Denny's. Their prices are great and affordable. The food has always been good. I don't think I've ever had anything here that wasn't good. My kids love the $2 pancakes and $2 quesadillas. For $2 for a kid's meal, you can't go wrong! We've never had any issues with service or cleanliness. read more

I visit Denny's to eat, VERY often! I would say their best items are their breakfast menu! The food is great. I've only had one issue, but it was with a recently hired staff member. We ordered a meatball sandwich, but the meatballs were very hard and rubbery, as if they were heated in a microwave. We sent the dish back for a replacement and our server (manager said it was her first day) gave us a horrible attitude from that point on throughout the rest of our visit. We didn't get any refills either, even though our cups were obviously bare empty! But as I said, that was only one time, I've ever had a bad experience. Every other time, my food was great, came out quick, and server (not the new one from my bad experience, but all the others there) was always quick, understanding, and on top of everything. I highly recommend their breakfast combos. :) Coffee and milkshakes and desserts are very good too! read more

Came here with family last week and was not happy with the service. However, we did come late at night and it was a bit busy. We waited about 45 minutes for the food to come, and when it did, it was cold (especially the eggs and sandwiches). Most of the workers were friendly which was a plus. Will probably try this place again during the day time. read more

We came as a group of 12 to eat in the evening time. The wait to be seated was long even though there was plenty of seating. It took about 20 minutes for drinks to come to the table and 45 minutes from then for the meal to come. The food was ok and the waitress was nice - but the wait time was way too long at a non busy time. read more

Worst dining experience in years. Waited over 5 minutes to be seated in a nearly empty restaurant. Waitress took us to a table in the extreme back of a nearly empty restaurant, threw the menus on the table , turned and walked away. Never spoke a word. Our waitress show up, after while, got us our drinks, then disappeared for 10 minutes. Finally ordered and waited over 20 minutes for food in a now rapidly emptying restaurant. Looked around and noticed 3 other elderly couples also seated on our section. (Wife and I are in our mid 70's). When finished eating, sat for 15 minutes waiting for waitress to bring check. She never did. Went to register to check out, and girl asked for check which we did not have. Totally flustered her. Also they seated 4 adults and 7 children, estimated all children 7 and under, in middle of 4 elderly couples in a restaurant which had 7 people sitting in it when we left. What happened to Denny's. Wont be back. Too many other choices out there. read more
