I just had the worst dining experience in my life. The food was lukewarm, even the coffee. The service was terrible. After bringing my food to the table, my waiter was nowhere to be found. There was no follow-up. No Is everything okay?" No, "Would you like more coffee?" Nothing. After sitting at my table for a full fifteen minutes after finishing my breakfast I tried to flag down another waitress. I know she saw me. We made eye contact and I waved but she turned away and left the dining area. I went to the front counter and no one was there. I could hear voices from the kitchen, including that of my initial waiter, but no one was at the front counter. And no one showed up for a full five minutes. I could have walked out the door and driven away without anyone noticing. Finally, the manager appeared and when I complained about my experience he attempted to defend the waitress that ignored me. When he should have said "We apologize for the inconvenience" he wouldn't even listen to my complaint and, instead attempted to make poor excuses for his waitress. Then he asked me for my table check - this is after I had already explained that both my waiter and the waitress never came over. I explain again and he asked me where I was sitting and then tries to charge me for another table. My table was a corner booth so there could be no mistaking where I had pointed. So I told him he had the wrong table and he said it was my fault again. He responds only one stove is working...ok thanks for not telling me before I sat down. Finally we finish our food the hash and the puppies come out... hash tastes like french fry sticks (the fries you get in a bag) but greased filled and the puppies were burnt... gross. As a family member wanted to have a meal there--and it was getting late--we went to THIS Denny's. Denny's, to my mind, is NEVER a destination, just a place you end up going . BIG, BIG mistake. It was the first time for me in over 10 years. It made the Denny's I visited in the town I lived in at the time--Santa Clara--seem like a Michelin starred restaurant!! I ordered the "slow-cooked" pot roast with mashed potatoes and brown gravy. When it finally came, it was actually less than tepid--not even lukewarm! To boot it was loaded with sodium. I don't use salt unless it naturally occurs in the food I eat. THIS was a disgrace--besides not being CLOSE to tepid. I asked a young man--not our server--if he could please put it in the microwave for 45 seconds. He responded by telling me their mikes were "super" hot. Well, it either didn't function OR he never heated it up. Period. Still the same. Overall--THE worst!!! The service was S-L-L-L-O-O-O-W to say the least. I could have taken two naps while waiting for coffee refills. It was agonizing waiting for our server to come back. The young lady was pleasant enough just not very adept at prompt service. Additionally, the restaurant wasn't even very busy. I'm normally very easy to please, in fact, and NOT a complainer. This WAS the last visit to ANY Denny's, anywhere. I would go hungry rather than visit THEM ever again. I'll be in touch with their corporate HQ after the holiday to share my experience with them--and will accept nothing even IF they offer. I went here once. I was excited to try it out. I went to a Denny's once out of state and had a good experience. This was different. The place was crowded. There was a wait. I waited with one other guest. The bathroom was dirty. We were finally seated and the silverware was dirty, there was lipstick on my friends coffee mug. We mentioned both the silverware and the mug, the waitress apologized. She gave us new silverware and a new coffee. The food cake out kinda like warm to be fair, and the bacon was all fat. The last time my father and I went to Denny's was the worst!
