I came to this location near the beach, because it was the only one close enough. There several waitresses and some I training on duty. I wanted to redeem a birthday entree and my son ordered a stack of pancakes. We waited a while just for pancakes and a grand slam. The pancakes were not even cooked properly. We didn't send them back, because it would have taken even longer. Our plates that the food came out on were dirty. I did point that out the the waitress. I don't know how many times I have come to this Denny's in Cocoa Beach only to be ignored by the waitresses. They all will look at me and hope somebody else will take my order. I also have a history of being a great tipper, so I don't get it. Today I waited 15 minutes before leaving since nobody would take my order. Not to mention the air conditioning has been broken for over a month. Also, I have never once got my toast with my meal. I always have to wait a few minutes after I get my meal for the toast. Worst breakfast ever! Ordered 2 waffles and a small plate of hash browns and it costed $15. Our waitress Brianna did not think to mention that you can get all that and more for $15 if you get the "Build Your Own Grand Slam". Then we were waiting for Brianna to bring us our check for 15 minutes total. The busser comes over and grabs all of our plates after 5 minutes and then we waited another 10 minutes for our waitress to bring us our check, or even enter our area of the restaurant where we could ask for the check. The meals were ok, though I am not a fan of cheese grits topped with "square American cheese slices," nor of the mostly banana slices in the fruit cup - what happened to other fruit such as honeydew/grapes/strawberries/blueberries, etc.??? Denny's like to bill itself as "America's Diner" and while I understand that it is pretty much a marketing term, I honestly cannot agree with it as I grew up in New Jersey, where we have some fantastic diners. In fact, New Jersey is known as the diner capital of the world. Anyway, with that being said, Denny's is a long-standing institution. They offer a full menu of meals, but if you were going to go to Denny's, I would recommend breakfast. This particular Denny's experience what is all in all pretty good. The service was good and the food was, well, what I would expect from a Denny's. That is not a total slam on Denny's, but a realistic statement. In fact, in a way, it is a compliment to Denny's. Denny's will never be an incredible breakfast please, Denny's will never be an incredible restaurant. But it was never designed to be an incredible place. It was created with the business plan to offer a consistent meal across all of its locations. This particular Denny's fit the bill perfectly. All in all, I will give this establishment three stars. My co worker ordered the pancake balls and the server came back after nearly 10 minutes just to tell her they were out of them, so we didn't even get to eat or breakfast at the same time. Came back today 7/10/24 and ordered the grand slam, hash browns barley cooked, and sausage was cold. The server took the sausage back and brought more and it too was cold, which tells me it isn't freshly cooked, unacceptable considering the cost to eat here. Tried to have a fun dinner out with friends as a birthday celebration, and was instantly met with a very rude greeting to the point where I already had started questioning wether or not we should leave. The waitress (her name was Shanon I think, she didn't introduce herself though.) was absurdly disrespectful throughout the entire time we were there, it was unlike anything I had experienced before and by far the worst customer service I've seen. Her and the other worker behind the counter also made a few nasty comments about our presence right infront of us and were clearly unhappy that we walked in, very early on they were loudly conversing across the room about how surprised and slighty agitated they were that people walked into a 24 hour restaurant at 10:00 PM on a Wednesday (referring to us.)
