This spot has given me the most condescending treatment I have ever experienced in a restaurant solely due to social media stalking. They have no reason to be biased against me in any way. I have never come to this establishment and caused a problem, not paid for a meal or tipped the servers. I have been coming here practically everyday in the last week due to budgeting and my transitional living situation. Which has nothing to do with them. I only come here to eat - nothing else. I don't sleep in the booth or none of mess. Which is what makes their lackluster service so insulting because I know it's solely based on hearsay. I sat in the restaurant for 2 hours yesterday without anyone greeting or coming to my table to at least offer water or hand me a menu. I was being patient but then I had to get someone's attention. It still took them another hour to take my order after that. I paid for my meal, tipped the server and left. Today almost the exact same thing happened where just like the day before I enter the restaurant and was completely ignored! People who came in after me were serviced and I was left sitting. I noticed that at the current time I'm writing this, the waitresses were packing up to go home. So I got the attention of the bidder and asked when is the next shift coming so I could put my order in with them and tip them since I was treated so poorly. Finally, a server came on and claimed she never saw me which was a lie because I came in and acknowledged them and watched them run around and avoid me. I finally get my food and before I even finish it I get a check for the meal and was asked to stop eating and pay for the meal because they waitresses are switching shifts and I'm looking at the person who I assume is the manager who ALSO HAS BEEN ABSENT THE ENTIRE SHIFT and let her know I'm not done eating and I was ignored for nearly two hours so to present a check while I'm eating is rude and disrespectful. I've worked in restaurants since 2004, from casual dining to dine dining and there is no excuse for this type of behavior. Especially asking me to pay before I finished my food that I had to sit for nearly 2 hours to eat. I feel like I'm being targeted because of my social media presence and how transparent I am about being in between housing. So they disrespect me because they are being advised by someone. This is my neighborhood diner and due to the inclement weather, I've come in to purchase items and stay out of the rain. It's been awhile since I have been in a Denny's but we decided to go for breakfast this morning. I noticed the menu had changed and gone now were some of the healthier items I remember from the past. We were quickly seated but then ignored. After about 15 minutes the host came over and asked if we had been greeted and when we replied "no" he took care of us. Honestly, I don't know how people eat this slop and they were busy. The eggs were ok but hash browns were those frozen shredded kind that were half cooked. Bacon and sausage were cold and the sausage was actually not cooked through and raw in the middle. I can make better pancakes at home from a buttermilk mix. The table had someone's old water bottle on it when we sat down. All in all not a great experience and for $22 for two breakfasts I expected more. Not recommended and I won't be going back. The only good thing is that there is a cashier and you don't have to wait for the server to return with your check. read more

Food is too salty and always tastes like it was sitting there for a while before it was brought to us. Our order has been messed up a few times we've been here. My experience at Denny's on Miracle Mile, Coral Gables was horrible. I was not expecting to have a racial experiece on the afternoon of 02/11/2023. I walked in the door of Denny's where my family was waiting to be seated in the waiting area. I was never greeted when I walked in the door. 10 minutes of me sitting in the waiting area with my family of 5 , there was a spanish family come in shortly after me with a family of 6 and immediately several servers greeted them and was ready to seat them immediately before my family.Now, us being a black family, I sat there for a minute to make sure I wasn't experiencing this and to make sure I wasn't over exaggerating. I spoke out about the matter that my family has been sitting here waiting to be seated. NObody greeted us and your servers are really going to try and seat this spanish family almost immediately before they seat us just minutes of them arriving. Only when I said something, all of a sudden a table became available for my family. I will never dine at this restaurant again. When I went here, I got salmon, and part of the salmon was frozen. After researching online I found that it's hard to get salmon right, and that it's rare that frozen salmon will cause food poisoning. I didn't feel sick afterward, but it put a damper on my experience. To their credit the server apologized and seemed to feel bad about it, and promised to pass it on to their kitchen, and other than that the service and food was good. In fact most of the salmon was cooked just right, the cook just didn't account for where the salmon was thick. read more

Where to go in the middle of the night when you are super hungry? Denny's comes to mind, but this time the experience was unbelievably bad! It took 53 minutes for the food to arrive! And the salmon was by far the worst I have ever tasted in a restaurant. Microwaved, overcooked and tasteless even on the second attempt. The sides, broccoli and mashed potatoes, were microwaved and overcooked as well and tasted weird. The greens on the salad were rotten. The pancakes that my friend ordered were undercooked and the hash browns tasted sour. We barely touched our food since it was inedible. I've found myself dining at this Denny's a few times this past month and after my last visit at 8 in the morning after the best New Years Eve of my life, I realized that this Denny's does the deed. And by that I mean that it provides me with greasy diner food in a crackhead friendly environment at wee hours in the morning, when I've just finished some intense partying. The service might not be the best, but I wouldn't enjoy my job too much either if I had to come serve intoxicated people whilst I'm sober. Their OJ is really good and their omelets and scrambles are great for aiding in the digestion of whatever is in your system. We came here last night at around 3 am after Black Friday shopping. Our party was 6 people. After waiting for about 10 min the waitress decides to come over. I was shocked when she came. She walked over to us, pen and notepad in hand and stood behind me silently. Didn't bother to introduce herself, say she was our waitress or anything. Just stood there, looking at us. I didn't even notice she was there until my mom started ordering right off the bat. My dad and my husband changed their minds about what they wanted and she was incredibly upset about that as she scribbled on her notepad. Our drinks took forever to come, that is the simplest thing ever. I don't judge when the food takes long but all she had to do was fill cups and bring them. Ok so the drinks come in, after like 25 min and let me add-this place was completely empty so I have no idea what the waitress occupied her time with. Then we wait about an hour for our food which came all wrong. My mom had ordered a side of hash browns which she was still waiting on. Once we finally got our food we ate. My moms hashbrowns never came. She didn't at all pass by to check how we were. I actually don't think she said more than two words to us. Then when she comes my mom said "please remove the hashbrowns from my check as they never came" to which she didn't even so much as apologize or pretend she cared. She just kind of said ok and walked off to get our checks. She was the one who rang us up at the register and asked how much we would tip (finally a full sentence out of her) we said a dollar and proceeded to complain about the service to which she put the nastiest face on and simply swiped our card. We continued talking about how Nasty she treated us with her disgusting attitude. To the manager if you care- please take a look at your staff. This is a Denny's. They should be used to working late night shifts. And they should just be nice to people that's her job. We would've tipped her extra extra well if she was nice just because she was working Black Friday. Never coming here again and I will tell my friends the same. Yeah, so, I found myself at this place in the middle of the night after flying in from out of the country on a mega-delayed flight. There was nothing open in sight, and I was starving! So, the food is what you expect from a Denny's. Cheap, greasy, filling comfort food. Why waste time talking about that, when you can talk about the experience. First of all, there is easy parking. Second, there are cameras on your car, so when you show up at 3 am, you know there is some monitoring of the vehicle. Service is pretty quick, and attentive. I can't remember who it was, but she just seemed to be there when I needed her and away when I wanted to be alone. The coffee was honestly pretty good, too, which makes this place earn plus points considering the abysmal quality of coffee I've subjected myself to at other chain diners. This is one of the only places open 24 hours in Coral Gables and it gets packed after 1 am by all sorts and that is pretty funny to see in itself. The staff here is super friendly and you can tell its mostly supported by traffic from UM students by the UM fan gear and photos all over the place. The food is good for what it is and the staff is always nice at all hours so that's a rarity down here. I found myself wanting breakfast after watching a movie about cooking and omelets. Problem: It's night out and already way past dinner but damnit I want breakfast now! Solution: Denny's. I ended up having a chocolate peanut butter milkshake and chocolate peanut butter pancakes. Both items seem to be new to the menu and they were good. This Denny's has been my go-to place since my early goth days when I used to come here to change and grab a bite after hitting the club (over 13 years ago, gosh I feel old!), and now, occasionally after an outing with a friend or going to a late movie and finding we actually DO want dinner or crave an ice cream, we will always end up gravitating to this location. The service is efficient and friendly, and the place seems clean. Although every Denny's has shady characters, except for the last time I visited, where 2 girls and a guy were threatening to beat each other and go (BACK) to jail as a result while causing a big scene, it's had less shady characters than other locations, like the North Miami or Midtown one. The parking lot is small, but there's also street parking and I have never seen it completely full on the many times I have been. I am glad they have started serving healthier options for those trying to lose weight, so now I can still come by on a late night and find something not TOO bad for my health, rather than going home hungry, or eating a greasy pizza at one of the nearby pizza joints that is open late. read more

On the weekends, usually around noon, this location is teeming with UM-ers struggling to stand up straight, and jonesing for that hit of grease to cure their alcohol-induced stupor. And boy, did Denny's save my ass when I was one of those students! Not that I don't need grease to save my hungover self from death by alcohol-poisoning, but unfortunately, there's no Denny's within a safe driving distance. Horrible! My friends and I went for a late meal at 3 AM. We were all sober, if you need to know. The waitress was the rudest person I have ever. We asked for water without ice before ordering our main course and she replied "Really?" with a resting b-word face. Once she got the water she basically slid them across the table. When we ordered our main course, she had a terrible look on her face like she wanted to get out of the place. I understand that it's 3AM but it is a 24hrs restaurant and it's her choice to work there. Again she got our food and basically left them stacked at the end of the table without any cutlery. My friends and I really didn't care because it was late. Finally we asked to split the order. And the waitress was again showing horrible attitude and was speaking in a condescending manner. She left us waiting at the counter for nearly 5 minutes until the manager came out for us to pay the bill. Immediately the waitress reappeared and took over the register and took our credit cards ask asked us if we would like to leave a tip. I left 50 cents because I felt that's what she deserved. However, what knocks it down to a measly 2 stars is that my friend ordered brunch here, and they completely screwed her orders.
