Usually come here once every 3 weeks or month with my girlfriend, she loves Dennys more than me but I don't mind Denny's at all, last time we went, there was only 2 servers and I believe 2 cooks, and it wasn't that busy which was good because our food came quick, food was super good and service was ok but that's because they had other tables as well, but very friendly servers, one cook was being rude to her servers when they were busy themselves she would get mad at them and shout in front of all the customers, overall decent place to quickly stop by for a bite read more

Food is always good, but when you order online they will not make your food until you arrive. Does not matter if you show up when they say the food will be ready or give them some extra time. If you're going to wait until we get there to start cooking the food, maybe offer in person to go orders only? read more

I've been eating here for close to 20 years, it's had its ups and downs as expected; however, the service I received yesterday was terrible. I work nights so dinner for me is late at night. I tried to place an order online around 1230am but the website says orders can't be placed after 11 pm. So I called the restaurant. I was greeted by a server named Christian who told me they cannot take phone orders after 10 pm so the only way I could order food would be to go into the store and order in person, which I did. When I arrived, after waiting at the counter for several minutes, I was able to speak to Christian who was seated at the bar/ counter area. He proceeded to tell me he was on break and that he could not help me or place my order for another 11 minutes. I stood around and waited and I finally asked if I could tell him my order so I could run to the gas station and come back. He said he would write it down but couldn't "put it in the system" till he was off his break. I ordered nachos and an order of fries. I left, came back, paid for my order, and went home. When I unpacked my food to share with someone else, I noticed the French fries weren't even the amount you'd get with a side order. There were 11 in a small box. At this point I was frustrated and no longer wanted to deal with it so a family member called and spoke to Christian, he was very rude to my family member on the phone and told her "It's 2 a.m. I'm the morning what do you want me to do about it?! I don't control the portion sizes". We were aware of what time it was and we work night shifts and this business is open 24 hours for a reason. When asked for the manager's name he said he was not going to give it to her and that if she wanted to talk to the manager she could call back tomorrow and request to speak to them, she did ask his name and after a long pause, he finally gave it. I don't normally leave negative reviews because s*** happens but in 20 years of being a customer I've never experienced someone so blatantly rude. The only reason why I'm giving some stars is because we called the following day and spoke to the manager on duty, I believe her name was Ella, and she apologized and offered to replace the food and said the situation will be addressed, she was very apologetic, genuine and accommodating and we appreciated it!!! read more

She is so kind and warm and helpful but also patient. Melissa sets the bar for what every server should strive to be. It's been years since I've met someone with so much warmth not to mention a personality. If you dine here, ask for Melissa's section. She won't disappoint! It's consistent and it's Denny's. I was miffed when they remove the value menu but even when the value menu was removed, this particular Denny's would still honor the value items while they were published online. Now they have something called everyday deals which is nice and replaces the value menu. While I have experienced some pretty sketchy servers in the past, they seem to have sorted that out now. The poor waitress was very busy and tried her best but our food was cold, and was a long wait from the time of ordering and you couldn't feel like bothering the waitress for anything she was running around working hard just keeping up with the tables. No matter how hungry you may be do yourself a huge favor and dont eat there. A 12:10 we couldn't get the soup of the day they were out. REALLY!! Waitress very flippant. So we order just breakfast . Pancakes and french toast with a side of sausages. Dont know how its possible to make a bad pancake at Dennys? Not done in the middle. French toast was mashed flat and the sausage under cooked and didnt taste good. Waitress never came by to re fresh our drinks. Entrance none to clean. Or the floors. Husband used the bathroom to wash his hands an no paper towels to dry. He said it was none to clean. Womans bathroom terrible. It take real effort to neglect it to get it that dirty. When a restaurant makes a mistake U don't have a problem with it, as long as they own up to it. On the other hand, when places ignore their mistakes, then I have a problem. Our service was horrible today. It took almost an hour for food to show up, and about 10+ minutes after we finished eating too get the check. Delicious food. Great menu. Great, friendly service. I had the 7 grain french toast with fresh fruit, egg whites, and turkey bacon. My husband had the traditional Lumberjack Slam. The new menu is yummy. The service is friendly and excellent. The restaurant has very recently been completely remodelled and redecorated. Its a beautiful experience. 2 stars is being charitable. After our party of 7 was seated for Sunday breakfast, our server greeted us with something like this- I want you to know it's going to take about a half an hour for your food to be ready from the time I put in your order. Great start. She seemed very unhappy in her work but she was right - it did take at least a half an hour for our meals to arrive. One of our orders was completely wrong but she did remove the charge after she was told about the mistakes and she apologized which was about the most positive thing about this otherwise abysmal experience. The food was ok - typical Denny's fare. We went here at the insistence of one of people in our party who raved about the food and low prices. Otherwise I wouldn't be caught dead at a Denny's. The prices weren't that good - typical and ok with a senior discount. This was the first time I've been to a Denny's in 25 years and it will likely be the last even if it's the only place available. I'd rather go hungry . Not my kind of place although I'm sure many people thing it's great. If you're one, have a nice time but I'll pass. read more

Would give zero stars if I could. 1. Waited 25 minutes before waitress approached our table for drink orders, that was after flagging her down at 15 minutes. 2. Ordered Mac and cheese from kids menu for my son, he wanted French fries as his side, he got six (6) fries. We asked to get a few more and we were advised after waiting 10 minutes, per location manager, that was the correct amount and if he wanted more we would be charged for a side of fries. BTW our total check was $67 and change. CRAZY... We will no longer be having any meals at Denny's in Cottonwood and will take our business to Black Bear Diner which is next door. read more

Passed by a 100 times before we finally stopped yesterday for lunch. I ordered a shredded beef enchilada and a green corn tamale. My friend ordered a build your own breakfast burrito. 4 stars cause her burrito was bland and boring. Mine, on the other hand, was phenomenal!!! Polite and quick service. Breakfast was oily/greasy bacon, sausage & eggs. Bacon almost tasteless. My friend had decaf coffee. Waitress brought my regular coffee for refill. I mentioned my friend had decaf - response - yeah, that's why I didn't bring the other pot. (Really?)and she quickly left. Then as she passed us again I said my friend would like a refill for her decaf - response: Well, I'm really busy here - I'm by myself (not true) but she left again and never returned. On top of being treated like we were an inconvenience the prices have soared to $10.98 for most breakfasts! Needles to say they lost two customers for a lifetime. If I could give 0 stars I absolutely would. Decided to go here late with family on Tuesday evening, it was the only decent place near us that we thought was open after doing a seven + hour drive. Our server was rude, never once checked on us if we needed anything, our food came out cold. Our food was burnt and under cooked. We asked to speak to the manger and he basically said he couldn't do anything. We walked out and happened to be parked right outside and we saw him speak to our server and they were laughing! The only reason this Denny's is getting 3 stars is because our server Jennifer was amazing. She was very apologetic for the terrible food. Everything my husband and I got was burned and full of old burnt food from past orders. Jennifer took our food back to be remade and I could hear the kitchen staff throwing a fit and giving this poor girl a hard time. 8:30 Friday evening. Table for two. Shannon was our waitress and she was the worst! She kept forgetting things. When we first got there, we were seated but not given water. We requested water and then had to wait and wait and wait to get it, and then we only got one glass. We finally got the second glass and asked for lemon. After 10 minutes we got up and got our lemon from someone else. The menu said that the soup for Friday is Clam Chowder. That's what I wanted. The waitress said there was something wrong with the clam chowder, so the only soup was Chicken Noodle, so I ordered that. Then she wiped her runny nose with her writing hand. I asked her if she would be washing her hands before bringing us our food since she just wiped her nose. She said she would. The other person ordered half an order of nachos and a turkey burger. She left to give our order to the kitchen and I noticed that she took some other people their order right after delivering our order to the kitchen (there is no way she had time to wash her hands - yuck!). About 10 minutes later, Shannon came back and said there was no soup, did I want something else. I said no. Another 20 minutes and the other person's food was finally delivered. A few minutes later, we flagged down our waitress and asked for some jalapenos. Then the wait was on to get them. Just when the person was getting ready to get up to get them, they were finally delivered. I would definitely recommend you find any other place to eat. read more

This restaurant USUALLY has great service and our breakfast started out well but the waitperson was ill and aborted her shift and we were left without a transition to another server. Our meals were incomplete, barely warm and there were no refills of coffee or ice tea. No one even asked and way to busy to get someone's attention. Finally a waitperson showed up to .... Leave the check! DIDN'T ask if we wanted anything else or how our meal was. Her attitude was mirroring the altitude! We dine there biweekly on Thursdays at 10am and consistently the bathrooms are NOT clean. The wait to get into one of the two is mighty long so gauging the traffic ? They should get more attention. I hate to say it but the manager, Mark, was on duty (he spent a lot of time at the seating podium) and still all this went on. We won't be going back and Mark seemed not to care when I contacted him--I usually don't post to YELP...I prefer to speak with the manager. We won't be recommending this restaurant either. Nice place to go maybe once in a while but NOT on a consistent basis. You really experience the foibles of this establishment if you make it your go-to. I'm a Sedona resident. read more
