Service: was petty good for lunch time crowd, Tanya was a great server very friendly and always was filling out ice tea. Plus always going around clearing tables and making sure we had everything. I just had one of the worst dining experiences in my life. The waitress couldn't get anything right. She had no business working in the service industry whatsoever. I will never eat at Denny's again ever. The very small size of my club sandwich was explained away by the manager complaining that the loaves of bread they had at their location where too small. I am disabled and suffer from PTSD and the validity of my service dog was questioned. Myself and the couple couple I dined with were disrespected beyond compare. The inexperienced waitress it is sarcastic quip when we were unwilling to give her a gratuity. Offering us at 25% on our next visit order dessert to go were an insult to say the least. Their booths are some of the smallest I have ever sat in. I'm a big guy, but goddamn. They're so close together that my knees were routinely bumping into the person sitting across from me. In an effort to fit more booths to seat more people this Denny's has made it uncomfortable for all. read more

6/12/17 If I could give it no stars I would. We came in here for dinner with my family. The place looked clean and we we're seated right away. My son was eating his salad when he bit into a staple. This happened in front of 2 Denny's employees. They clarified that the staple came from the bag of salad. My son was in tears and could've been seriously injured. After all said and done all the manager could offer is was 20% off the bill. We didn't even eat we decided to leave. I will never return to any Denny's restaurant again. read more

I'm very disappointed in the local Denny's in Cottonwood. Customer service is nonexistent. There was one server trying to address the needs of customers(taking orders and assisting with checks). No one was present to greet and seat when customers first walked in to the building. A total of four employees were present (out in the open), but not attending to customers. Granted some of these employees may have been clocking in or out, but to have over eight tables of customers in house with one lone waiter trying to help is ridiculous. We went to eat dinner there tonight. Our waitress Jenny was great. She was very attentive and has a great attitude. Can't say that for a particular waitress who was behind the counter telling a customer all about one of the cooks who didn't know how to make their new Tuscan chicken sandwich and about dirty trays. It was quite apparent she was having a bad day or maybe that's her attitude all the time. Needless to say employees should not talk about each other in front of customers. Stop by for breakfast this morning. Problems: Service was very slow (45 minutes) with only 10 people in the restaurant , getting the order out of the kitchen was a major issue. Pancakes were brought to the table ice cold. There was not visible present of a manager working the floor. There is no sense of urgency for customer service here at this Denny's location compare to one in the Camp Verde area. This is my third trip to this location and its not a good location go to the one in the other location, The management did address the problem before leaving this Denny's only after requesting the manager. read more

Apparently they can't make hash browns well done. I ordered my meal with crispy well done hash browns and I got mush. Twice. By the time the hash browns were made the 2nd time- my eggs and bacon were cold. So I tried my pancakes instead. The ones that had bruised bananas all over them and zero butter. Not knowing this, we went in for a quick bite not realizing we were stepping into quicksand! Arrived at 7:20, ordered and proceeded to wait. And wait, and wait. At 7:45, I asked waitress *Destiny if our order perhaps got lost, to which she replied, "no, yours is next, we're just very busy!" At 8:20 while walking out, another server noted that the plates she was holding were ours. So we went back, sat down and proceeded to dive in. I wasn't surprised at all when my diabetic, now near comatose wife, showed me the grease dripping from her hand that was holding a pot roast sandwich. Yummy! From all I can tell,there were other customers there who had an hour wait. Stopped by on our way home back to Phoenix round 10-11pm. My wife ordered coffee. We got the cup and lip sick was still on the cup. Looks like it was never washed. We get our food. I have a single strand of hair on top of my gravy and country fried steak. She opens her utensils and her silverware looked like it wasn't washed either. Food stains from the last person. I was happy with the food and the waitress was pleasant and helpful. There was to much loud talking between the employees including the manager who pulled or waitress just as she was getting us coffee to ask her about setting up breaks. Needless to say we didn't get coffee till I called the manager over to explain what she had done, of which she was very sorry for and got the coffee herself and apologized for her actions. It was not the waitresses fault. In all the place was clean and like I said the food was great. I recommend it for breakfast but speak up if this happens to you because the customer comes first. We had a wonderful experience. It's Dennys so the food is Dennys quality but our service was 5 star restaurant. We have been on vacation for 8 days and been to some very nice restaurants in that time and I can honestly say this was the best service we have received. She was friendly, she checked on us every few minutes but waited until we were done chewing before asking if we were okay. She bussed our tables regularly and we never had cold coffee! I love Denny's. I'm a long time fan. My name is Denny (no relation). My longtime fave meal there is the Super Bird. But Saturday Jan 10 2015, my 66th birthday, I brought my party of 8 to the Denny's in Cottonwood. Besides us there were 3 or 4 other tables occupied in the whole place. We brought in a birthday cake, made mention that it way my birthday and asked for a single candle, which we got. The service was very unattentive. Our glasses were empty and refills came only once. I'm giving this review 2 stars instead of one because the food arrived hot, well prepared and delicious. My wife's mother picked up the check and was told at the register that the free birthday meal only covers a junior grand slam. Obviously it was a birthday party, and this factoid was not mentioned by the somewhat crabby waitress upon ordering, therefore screwing me out of my simple birthday dinner and embarrassing me and the other 7 people I brought along. I came in trying to get a quick bite to eat when I first got here it took 5 minuets for a worker to even look in my direction, a family of 3 came in behind me and was sat right away while I had to wait 5 more minuets to be sat. When I finally sat down I could hear screaming from the back one of the chiefs was yelling the whole time at my waiter for nothing. Whelp, it's Denny's. This particular Denny's has had a long list of problems in the past, terrible food, terrible service, the inability to get the right food to the right people, it goes on and on. However, recently this location has improved greatly, enough that it has become a viable option for a quick lunch or late night dinner. Their service is exponentially better than it was, and so is their food. I have no idea if that is to be attributed to Denny's improving, or the care with which bit prepared improving, but it's actually not bad. I'm not sure I could give a chain diner like Denny's a 5 star review, but only because it's still Denny's after all and this is not high class dining. But if you're hungry and want something fast and inexpensive, this location isn't bad. read more

Denny's food has always been good wherever we roam throughout Arizona in our traveling RV. For one month we stayed near this Denny's and ate there three times. This last time was horrible. Noticed that the general manager that was at the counter with all the food prep didn't even have her hair up. Waitresses had hair slicked back and as should a waitress have. After 45 minutes and hearing her yelling at the cooks, she went back to help them. Thank God her hair went to a messy ponytail, without an apron! The ham and cheese omelette that I ordered all the ham was burnt and ununchewable. Waitresses and cooks were hustling. Not a clean Dennys to say the least. There was garbage also on the table from the last guest who was there prior to us. I also didn't care for all the yelling from the kitchen asking when the plates were up and who was to get them. I went to Denny's in College Park, Maryland. I had to go to the restroom. I was not finished reading my paper so I purposely left my prescription glasses on top of the paper to let them know I was coming back to my table. One of their employees took my glasses and gave them to another customer who left. I reported this to management and the owner. Owner said he was not going to pay for their mistake.
