About a half mile walk from the RV park, so I went for breakfast. It was sustenance food, but no more. Coffee was at best strange, plate was warm, pancakes were cold ! Tasty sausage. Bacon and eggs decent. The menu is very confusing....Too many "slams"! Senior breakfast pricing, higher than the special value items. Need a lawyer to help out. But.... Denny's will be Denny's. My husband and I recently moved to Kentucky from South Carolina. We have eaten breakfast at Cracker Barrel and Bob Evans and at Denny's. Denny's has come out on top every time. The restaurant is clean, we get seated almost immediately. The service is super friendly and professional and the food comes out quickly and it tastes wonderful! If I could have rated zero stars, I would have!!! Not only did they walk my to go order around the floor to each table in the restaurant, my order was then placed in a box for me "to go"..... The "manager" told server to have kitchen cook a fresh order for me as she left on a smoke break. When the manager returned from smoke break with the cook ( did she really not realize no one was cooking in the kitchen when the cook was with her smoking), the manager discovered the order had not been cooked. If I hadn't already paid for my order, I would have left at the thirty minute mark. I had to wait exactly 45 minutes for two hamburgers to go. I have eaten at this Denny's two or three times previously, but NEVER again!!! They said a couple of "I am so sorry!"; but really????!!!!! $26.00 for a 45 minute wait on two so so hamburgers - not impressed!!!! read more

Denny's is great in that you always know you're going to get a great a great breakfast any time of day. So when you go to a Denny's, the issues are speed of service and competency of the servers. The speed in which my family got our food was fine, and the server was friendly enough, but she seemed to be moderately stupid. She didn't bring secondary menus until we asked, she never brought crayons for our son, even when we asked. And, she never refilled our drinks even once. She had no competency whatsoever, and that's a shame. But even bad service equals a decent experience at Denny's. My family thoroughly enjoyed our meals and had a good time nonetheless. After a long day at work for me and my fiancé decided to go get a quick bite to eat. Quick it was not ! We waited over 30 minutes for our food only to receive 1 entrée at a time. I ordered pancakes and waited an additional 15 minutes while my man got his burger and cold fries, but it gets better... When my pancakes came, they were cold and rubbery. I sent them back and told the server that my fiancé had gotten cold fries as well. When the food came the second time my sausage was missing. This experience will be my last trip to Denny's. It has always been mediocre food at best , but I expected more than I got this time. read more

This Denny's experience was awesome. Sonya, our waitress, was terrific! The food was delicious. I ordered the hamburger and it was sooo very good and NOT simply a frozen patty tossed on the grill. My sister ordered the Moons over my hammy and it too was delicious. My friend ordered Sticky Bun pancakes meal, it was out of this world. No syrup needed. The last time I'd been to Denny's before dropping by here was years ago because it used to be really good breakfast like iHOP and such. This event happened a year ago so this review is a bit late but I still see their doing terrible. I was alone and waited to be seated by the booth. I stood 10 minutes and then when a family walked in they walked past me and greeted them first. At that point being nice I just let it go and they had them seated first. Again I waited 5 minutes and almost walked out till finally the waitress approached and said 'are you ready?' I got mad at that but let it slide again willing to give the place a chance just to try the food. As I was seated a waited awhile for the waitress to take my order and get my drink. When I was waiting even longer for the food I discovered a gruesome sight that had been next to me all along and luckily I never managed to touch it. On the table was two dead flies on each end. I love Dennys burgers. Great value and quality. Seriously, I can't believe it either. But the have their burger game down. Yes they are known for breakfast but the brioche bun is the perfect base for these beastly burgers. I've eaten in Dennys everywhere and never have issues. Service was terrible I took a while to place my order, after I had ordered my coffee 15 minutes before ordering my food I never got asked if I wanted a refill. When I did finally place my order it was brought to my table fairly quickly but the portion size for the price was pathetic it was extremely greasy and the eggs weren't what I had asked for. I ate half of my food and requested a Togo box it took for ever to get it then I had to request my check. When I walked up to pay I wasn't asked how I liked the food, and after paying I told my server to have a good night and she just stared at me like she didn't understand the words coming out of my mouth I have to say over all my visit was unpleasant and I'll never be returning to this location read more

First it was if we were ghosts. Not one server noticed us or made an attempt at hello while we waited to be seated. Once seated the service was fine but the food was quite poor. We both ordered salads topped with chicken. The only thing edible was the chicken. The greens should have been out in a waste bin. The cleanliness of this place is also quite poor! One star because i have to. Passing through from TX visiting the area and we stopped in for dinner. The people 2 booths from us waited 45 min before asking for someone to take their order. The waitress, short red headded woman, acted like it was a bother for her to help them and even threw their menu's when she returned to the back area. The floor was filty, the tables dirty and 2 of the 4 waitresses seemed like they wanted to be there. As of right now there are 5 out of 20 tables with people and we have been waiting 30 min for our food. Would i stop here if i were you? NO WAY IN HELL!!! I read the other reviews and the place is hit or miss. My father found cardboard in his skillet meal and the manager took 20 minutes to come out. He didn't even know what to do. Sad. Reading the reviews I was expecting terrible service but honestly one of the best Denny's ever! You need to be patient and kind with them because they are busy and if you want great service then you need to be patient. Came in with a family of 6 and bottom line she abided by any of our needs. In fact she would ask if we wanted more things and insisted that we'd take coffee and waters to go. Such a sweet lady, has been working since Monday everyday with long hours. I walked in and there is a weird smell. Like cigarettes and cat litter. Reminded me of a motel rather than a diner. The exterior of the building was also quite creepy in appearance. Once inside it took a couple of minutes for someone to even notice me. I got a steak and it was quite bland. It didn't taste of any seasoning and I had to add quite a bit of salt for it to even be palatable with I find to be a same since it looked to be a good cut of steak. My smoothie tasted more like a creme shake. All in all food wise I think my fries were the best part. They had grooves in them that made it easy for my ranch to cling to. The only thing that held any true value to me when I went here was my waitress. I don't remember her name but she was fantastic. Despite the gloom state of the restaurant she was upbeat and friendly. I waited for nothing. If this was a staff review I'd have given her a 5/5 but sadly it's not. I won't be returning. read more

My husband and I ventured to Denny's for a late lunch on a Saturday. We've always enjoying going to this particular Denny's, until now. When we arrived we were seated promptly. The tables had no visible residue or dirt, and the staff was welcoming. Before ordering we both went to the restroom. The women's bathroom smacked you in the face with an odor upon entering, which I'd never experienced before at this same Denny's. The trash was overflowing, flies were flying around, the floor was sticky (with what I am not sure, and didn't want to think about really), and the counters were wet. My husband said that the men's bathroom was very dirty as well, and didn't go into details. I complained to our server and she said that the restrooms were in such a state because they had been so busy all morning. Normally I do NOT eat in a place with a filthy bathroom, because to me that is an indication of what the kitchen could be like. My husband loves Denny's pancakes, and wanted to stay anyway. That's a man for you! We decided on breakfast instead of lunch. So reluctantly and after saying grace, I ordered the harvest wheat pancakes stuffed with bacon. My order came with a choice of sausage or bacon and eggs. I ordered the sausage with scrambled eggs. My husband ordered the same thing, except his pancakes were made with white flour. I ordered coffee and asked for a lot of cream and Splenda. The waitress forgot the Splenda and eventually came back after about 15 minutes with some. She apologized for the delay. The coffee was just ok. I ordered their new BOLD coffee. I like what they normally serve better. The bold had an after taste to me. My husband thinks he's a pancake connoisseur, and normally loves Denny's pancakes. On this particular visit he did not love them. He said that because the bacon was soggy inside the pancakes and not crisp, he didn't like the texture of the pancakes and didn't enjoy them this time. He did like his eggs and sausage however. My pancakes were ok, my husband's order came out before mine, because they said that they forgot to put bacon in my pancakes. So people sitting in the booths surrounding us, who arrived after we did, were served before we were. I'd probably order the harvest wheat pancakes again sans the bacon. My husband said he would do the same with his white flour pancakes. My eggs weren't great (slightly rubbery) and I didn't eat my sausage after taking one bite. The sausage seemed too sweet to me. My husband enjoyed his eggs. I'm not sure we will return because of the restrooms. Normally we enjoy Denny's for the speed of service, ability to order breakfast all day, PRICE, and of course the pancakes for my husband. I'm not sure we will go back. read more

Stopped for lunch on our way to Nashville. We were seated at the wet and greasy table and waited...Waited...waited some more and order was finally taken.Finally soup came but no spoon.Then real waiting began.After 45 min food arrived.The skillet my husband ordered was lukewarm and my turkey dinner was lacking cranberry sauce and broccoli She brought sauce fairly soon but broccoli was brought after I finished eating. They never answer their phones and if they do, they will tell you to wait and then never pick the phone back up lmao. When you go in, no one greets you or sits you so you just stand there for ever until you make someone seat you. The food is always really good but omg the staff sucks. Went here once about maybe 2 months ago. The health inspection was a 98. The food was great, the servers were awesome. Since that time I have tried to go again but the inspection score has dropped to a 93. I don't like to eat at places less than a 96. I have been in food service 16 years and I know that to get a low score (93) you have to be really nasty, or the managers are ignorant to health codes. read more

If I was able to give 0 stars I would.. where do we began first off we where sat down and waited over 15 minutes just to order our food. Second we noticed a group who arrived after us recieved their food before us. Than I order food specifying no onions due to an allergic condition and when I recieved my food there was onions all throughout it. Kendall claimed she put the order in with no onions one of the chiefs made a mistake. If it wasnt for my girlfriend letting me know there was onions in it who knows what wouldve happened. Not only that but we didnt recieved any napkins while other tables did, there was also a very odd vibe in the atmosphere I dont know if it was because my girlfriend is black but there just seemed to be so many eyes just staring at us while we ate. Our experience here was very poor and I would not recomend this place to anyone I've had better food and service at waffle house. read more

This restaurant was under staffed and not at all prepared for the late night travelers that came from the eclipse. One of the employees (not our waitress) brought our silverware out. Silverware was not individually wrapped. He brought it to us as a stack of napkins with "clean" silverware laying in the bunch. He apologized for it not being wrapped. The bathrooms were very untidy and no paper towels either. The whole time we were there, which was about an hour waiting for our food, there were many empty tables, that were not cleared off. We stopped by here while traveling, because we wanted more than a fast-food breakfast. In retrospect, we should have gone to McDonald's. My sister ordered a full breakfast, I just ordered oatmeal. If they think that sludge was oatmeal, they better consult a dictionary or a cookbook!! It was only lukewarm and had the consistency of glue. When the waitress (finally) came back, she asked if I liked the oatmeal. I told her why I could not eat it, and she said she would "take care of it" for me. When the check came, she had taken off $1.50 for a $3.49 bowl of inedible glop. Then, when we went to pay, the manager angrily asked my sister why the $1.50 had been taken off! Seriously???? Passing through town for a funeral and stopped here for a quick bite. We were exhausted and just wanted something quick. We both ordered pancakes. Wife specifically asked for fresh blueberries and strawberries on hers. They bring out some sugary mess and walked off. When the server came back the wife told her that she wanted fresh fruit, to which the server responded they had none (how you can run a breakfast joint with no fresh fruit is beyond me) but if you know that why not tell my wife when she placed her order. We always thought Denny's was a great place to eat NOT ANYMORE!! When we came in we waited to be seated then finally started to seat ourselves the waitress was nice but the food was nasty. Our waitress kept telling me how good the new Smoked cheddar potatoes were so I ordered some it looked so good on the menu. When the order came I was so upset to find a hard lump of cold mashed potatoes with a small amount of cheese grated on top not even melted they were not eatable. My husband ordered his steak medium rare he could not eat his steak at all it was well done and very tough. We sat there never being asked to refill our drinks our service was poor not to mention we wasted $38.00 for two meals we could not eat. This is a Denny's, food is usually better then most Denny's but not a 5 star restaurant by any means. The staff is friendly and helpful and seem to try to treat their guests as family or at least wanted company. My wife and I make it a stop on trips through the area about 4 times a year and it's always a high spot on our trips. Some times the waitress will slip something extra into your order if they think it will brighten your day somewhat. They work at making you feel wanted. Our favorite waitress is Bubbles, she fits her name to a tee, ask for her if you want good service from a fun person, all of the staff seem more then willing to make your meal as pleasant as possible. Good food with no pressure at a decent price makes this a good place for a stop over on a trip or low key outing after a hectic day. read more
