I come here at nighttime which is appropriate for someone who works nights. 24/7...all day everyday--not me the Denny's...although I would love to come here all day--though my nighttime job wouldn't allow it I DIGRESS. I love coming here for dinner. The servers are o so friendly and even when they are outside on their breaks they still smile and say hello. I recccomend if you're doing dinner get the breakfast burger... it's got everything you can think of in terms of breakfast and burgers. Delightful...and on the off chance I do eat breakfast here...gotta try the country friend steak with their cold brew. Pancakes are good. read more

Went to Denny's on a Saturday morning. They were busier than I ever seen them. I got a free Grand Slam from Denny's for my birthday. I got 2 pancakes, 2 eggs (they were supposed to be medium, came out over easy, sent them back, and they came back hard), and 2 bacon. My husband ordered the Grand Sammich with hash browns. We both had the most wretched coffee ever. And it wasn't my imagination. When an older couple were seated shortly after us, I saw the husband take a sip of his coffee, pucker up, and have his wife taste it. I was looking at them, and started to say something about the coffee, and he and I both spoke about it at the same time. I'm not sure if it was old, burnt, the ratio was off, or a combination. Anyway, it was one of the worst breakfasts ever. So much so, that I brought it home and fed it to my dogs. My husband shared his sandwich with me that wasn't great, but wasn't horrible. I will say that the pancakes were good. Unfortunately, service wasn't great either. When I brought it to the attention of the young waitress that my eggs were over easy, she didn't apologize, but instead argued with me. I'm sorry, but I started making eggs when I was 12 years old, and have been cooking them (nearly daily) for 25 years. I know an over easy egg. This will be my last time going to Denny's, regardless if I'm eating for free. It's time for me to retire from Denny's outings. At least this location. No stars, we asked for a cool spot because of the heat and the hostess said well it's hot in here. We got seated and the server in the section seemed very busy however we watched a table get up and leave after getting their drinks and after sitting there for more than 15 minutes without even an acknowledgment of our existence we also got up and left. Even as we walked out no acknowledgment of any kind. I really wanted breakfast but we went to GC for lunch knowing service would be quick as we have many things to do today. It was also very humid and hot in the restaurant. Take my advice go somewhere else unless you're friends with the server. read more

Went here yesterday (6/10/2022) at 11:00PM during our long ride home from our north carolina vacation. We took this exit to stop for gas also, tried the crackel barrel but they were closed. So to Denny's we went! First time being in one, it was nice tho and a cute little diner. The host sat us right away for a party of 3. Our server was very nice and helpful. We all ordered coffees, and waters. Coffees were good and nice and hot. i enjoyed them. Next we all ordered, my dad got a pancake breakfast combo with eggs and hash browns, my mom ordered an omelet, and i got the cinnamon pancakes. everything came out delicous and enjoyable. Also the restrooms inside were very clean. My family and I enjoyed our late night breakfast. Cost was efficient and relatively cheap, so that's good. If I could give a negative star review I would. My party of 9 got to the restaurant a little after midnight, and the restaurant was NOT busy. Everyone that got a pancake meal with eggs and a meat, got their pancakes first and had to wait in their eggs and meats, no syrup was brought to the table until I asked for my party,and I got my food a good five minutes after everyone else, and when I got my burger finally, it was ice cold, so I had to send it back, and the refire was quicker than the original order, which leads me to believe I didn't get fresh food, and our server, literally came back SEVEN times to to confirm everyone's order. Seven. Then we got our checks, she didn't add the drinks to everyone's bill, so we had to redo the tickets when we went to pay. No sort of discount even offered for the numerous about of things that went wrong with our party's food. I will NEVER waste my money again at this establishment. Being a former professional sous chef in the food service industry, the service and food was appalling. No way it should have taken almost 25 minutes to get our food and still have it made wrong. Pancakes don't take long to cook, same with eggs or a burger. This place is a joke and if you don't want to leave a restaurant absolutely infuriated, I highly recommend you DONT eat here. Where to start with this place? Yikes! That might be a good place to start. My family and I showed up here on our way back from vacation, looking for a quick meal which we did not get. Let's talk about the location first. It is not a bad location at all, connected to a hotel you would think that the service would be speedy. Much like the setup of the inside here the service was awkward. With eight of us seating was a bit tricky, but with the lack of customers inside you would think this could have been taken care of swiftly. Once we did get seated I decided to use the facilities. Was that a trip, almost literally. When I walked into the bathroom I almost tripped over the busboy. He was on his hands and knees cleaning the floor right inside the door. After stumbling right in front of him, partially because I was startled and partially because I was already in the room. The bathroom seems to have been the focus of care here rather than service or food. So you get an A+ for the bathrooms. When it finally came to ordering it went smoothly, our server had everything written down to the tee. Somehow something got lost in translation. Almost every single order came out with something wrong with it. With one exception, my order. My mother had ordered a soda and when it came out the taste was off, like they had cleaned the line but forgot to flush it before reconnecting it. Parts of sandwiches forgotten or completely wrong. It was just a mess. When we went to pay, we found out that it wasn't just our order which leads me to believe that it was the cook messing things up in the kitchen. When we were outside ready to leave the cook had come out for a break and I cannot speculate as to his behavior, but it did not look normal. Our family's time of going to this Dennys has come to an end. We could have chosen to go anywhere for breakfast this morning, but we chose the only Dennys in Fredericksburg. First of all, the girl at the front tried to seat us at a table that was between a door and was way too close to the next table. I wouldn't have even have been able to squeeze into my seat. So when we went to the front to tell her that it wasn't going to work, we also asked if we could sit in the front with all the windows. The manager said that there was no heat over there but there was other people sitting over there??? So when I asked if it was still okay, the girl said "go ahead!" With an attitude. When we went to pay and my husband handed the manager the check, she said "wait a minute!" with a real nasty attitude. I spoke up about her nasty attitude too! My wife and I can to Denny's with family and had a great time. We forgot how good Denny's is, we usually go to IHOP, but we're glad we didn't this time. We would say that Denny's is also maybe a couple dollars cheaper than IHOP, you can get the All-American breakfast for $9.99. The portions at Denny's are big, the prices are great and the food is delicious! The Moom over Hammy is excellent, it's a ham, egg and cheese sandwich that has the perfect amount of portion of each, you can get it with hash browns, fries or fruit. We also got the all American French toast combo with 4 sausage links, eggs and French toast. Everything we had was great. We definitely decided we're coming back and we'll probably come here more than IHOP now, because the price is better. read more

I ate at this restaurant two days in a row. Apparently, they don't like children. The first day My party had three adults and a baby and the second day my party had eight adults, both days regardless of size couldn't figure out how to set us at a table with a highchair. When I insisted on a highchair, it was a major deal each time. Their food was good and the servers, though working short, were very nice. We had lunch at Denny's and were very pleased. We were greeted by a very warm and friendly hostess, Monica, who seated us and later checked us out. Food was excellent and Amber, our server, made sure everything we ordered was exactly as requested. I've been to this location a few times and while some of the time we had decent service tonight was the worst we've ever had. The food was good, don't get me wrong. However the waitress going by the name Tammy H. Was Rude, intrusive and neglectful. I made an off collar joke to my father in-law and she took it upon herself to completely insert herself into our conversation attacking my integrity. That's not to say how uninformative she was as well as neglectful. She didn't check on us if we needed our drinks refilled, I had to flag her down so we could get something more to drink. I ever over heard her muttering at the drink station (we were seated right behind it) and she was complaining about having to get our refills. What happened to customer service? I was nothing but polite to her. We're definitely filing a complaint with Management and NOT going back to that location. read more

We came here for mother's day and we waited a short time. The food came out in an hour (all we ordered was a few small breakfast plates and chicken tenders.) The bathroom wasn't dirty per se... but the toilets did not flush correctly and there was an air freshener sitting in the sink. The server was nice and the accuracy was correct, but the pancakes were more of a dessert because they came out so much after the side dishes. The thing that made me the maddest was they said the online orders took precedence over seated patrons. I don't think I will be coming back to this one any time soon. read more

When I was sitting at this Denny's and trying to check in on the handy-dandy Yelp app, I noticed that the reviews for this location were poor, and all of them mentioned that the location was run down. I found this odd because I was sitting in, perhaps, the nicest Denny's I'd ever been in. And then I realized that I was sitting in something rare ... a brand spankin' new Denny's. I love Denny's. There was a time when I wouldn't have thought to say that. There was a time where I wouldn't have dared to say that Denny's clowns IHOP in comparison. But times change. Denny's seems to be stepping up their game, believe it or not, and a sign of that is that they replaced one of their run-down facilities with a brand new establishment. There's not much to choose from when you cross over I-95 coming off of US-17. Steak and Shake was insanely crowded, so we decided to see what was out this way. We didn't like the options we found, so Denny's was a comfortable choice. And we were very happy with our meals. Our server was perhaps the best server I've ever gotten at a Denny's. Their build-your-own skillet special is awesome and full of neat add-on customizations, and my wife was happy with her club sandwich. While we typically look for something a bit more off the beaten path when we eat out, sometimes you just need to fuel up with consistent comfort food. If I could give it 0 stars I would... had to have fasting labs today so was starving after going to Regional Medical Center - started to go to Cracker Barrel but had a brain fart and said "let's try that Denny's up on Rt 1" - BIG MISTAKE! ...it was NASTY, food on the floor and sticky table was first clue it was a bad idea, the wait service was barely adequate, the coffee wasn't bad, actually good but that is where it ended: Got the Lumber Jack Grand Slam - ordered it with 3 eggs over easy, got hard scrambled (didn't send it back because it took 20 mins to get the order to begin with; hash browns were like eating hay, pancakes were rubbery and I did not finish them. We were seated in the back room next to a couple with a hyper active kid, who promptly dumped his glass of milk on the floor, breaking the glass and splattering us with milk - no apology or even acknowledgement. Took another ten mins before waitress decided to clean it up. This Denny's is a real dump - dark, dank and awful service/food - avoid it like the plague. Denny's has never been fine dining but they used to offer a decent breakfast and fairly good lunch options - apparently that has all gone down hill. Right when you go in, you can smell a really bad odor. Like a drain of waste... My husband and I stayed because we were hungry and we didn't want to hop on the car and drive somewhere else. The service was bad it took a while to order, the waitress was just passing by. I kind of can't believe I'm reviewing a Denny's, but yet, here I sit. I haven't been to a Denny's in years. Most of my memories involve me in them 15 plus years ago in college, packed into a booth at 3 AM in a room filled with tobacco smoke and a Grand Slam in front of me. It was always greasy, but always open. That said, on a recent road trip, my toddler was hungry and crying, and Denny's was right off of 95. In we went. Seriously, when did Denny's get so delicious?!? Maybe it was a good day, or maybe this is just a very good location (which it was, staff and cleanliness wise). But I had one of the best hamburgers that I've ever eaten in my life here. Even my husband remarked how good it looked when it was served. Of course, the little one got nuggets and fries, so she was happy. And we were happy with a well priced lunch that definitely satisfied. read more
