Worst food I ever tried didn't even take a full bite garbage the service sucks don't recommend

Whoever is cooking tonight doesn't know the menu, and doesn't know how to cook. They managed to mess up all 4 of our meals. 3 of those meals were no where close to what the menu described them to be. Classics we all know well, didn't have any special requests or substitutions... The woman taking orders and packing up the food for pick up read back my order and it was correct, yet still managed to forgot our salad dressing, tartar sauce, lemons (which we specifically asked for, even though they are things that come with the meals we got), charged us for a salad that we didn't order and charged us for the avocado we didn't get! I wouldn't waste my time to write about it if I thought they cared even one little bit about my family enjoying our dinner, I see no evidence that they did. Our check total was over 65 dollars and we tipped them another 10 because at a glance all packed up, it looked correct. I feel really stupid for trusting this location because I knew they sucked from previous experiences pre covid 19. I guess I just thought they would have done their best to keep the best employees on the schedule and strive to keep their local customers in a time like this. Great food, servers can be very slow. Takes 5-25 minutes for your food to be taken to your table, even before COVID.

We had a very bad experience, we were hoping to have a nice dinner and multiple items we wanted from the menu weren't available such as all the selections of soda, no sauces and what we did order they messed up and we had to ask to be remade. Not only did they not have certain stuff they took forever to even help us out even though it was a slow night. 2 stars is generous. I got what you expect from Denny's. Ordered online, waited 15min because they said they didn't have turkey bacon. Got my order and there was turkey bacon in there. Missing bacon cheddar bites. Tried the Dulce de Leche crunch with no crunch on top at all, it was just pancakes and carmel. Never order online unless its something basic. Staff always seem new and clueless but it's not the end of the world. Still ate the food. read more

I know it may not be fair being the only review in here and having such a strong opinion, but this was the only time in the past decade that I refused to leave a tip - to put it in words: it sucked ass. One day a friend of mine and I decided to go outlet shopping in Gilroy and since the two of us were (and still ARE) unfamiliar with the area, we just stopped at the closest place to the mall. It was dead empty. I guess we were a little on the early side for dinner. Yet the waiter arrived prompt and took our orders. I had the plain HAMburger and got: a cheeseburger. Not willing (or able) to eat it, I had the waiter return it who smiled at me and said "oh, now not?" (uhm, I did not change my mind, I just did not order it) Quite rude. And when he brought it back I still had bits of cheese on the meat and told him that I did NOT order a burger with cheese. So he took it back and brought me a new one. Probably with spit on it. Don't matter, it took so long my friend was done, I was fed up and we left - swearing to never return. read more

At the host stand, they show a big sign that says "OUR PLEDGE TO YOU: We don't just believe in guest service and hospitality, we stand behind it. These aren't just words, they're our commitment to you." PFFT YEAH RIGHT my mom and I were standing in the front waiting to be helped while this lady (edit: Her nametag says Lupe, so I assume that's her name) kept laughing and joking with her coworkers glancing at us saying "I'll be right with you." She then proceeded to go to a customer's table and sat there chatting with him. More people started coming in, while she was walking by barely acknowledging any of us. I'm a server at a restaurant, I know how it can get busy and all of that but this honestly wasn't the case at all. It was dead here. We finally got walked to a table by someone else and was sat, but the tables weren't even wiped and hash brown bits were still on the booths. Even while I'm writing this review right now, the family in front of me are staring at the servers waving their arms trying to get at least one person's attention... Overall, I was bothered by that lady the most, but our server, Joshua, was fine... I've been to plenty of Denny's and know that I shouldn't expect much, but oh boy this place was the worst so far :( read more

Went in on a Saturday about 20 people total in the place, got seated pretty quick and served our drinks,ordered and waited for a while after 30 minutes got told out food would be made shortly as the people are new, this is the same thing I was told last week when coming in and waiting an extremely long time, so we wait a little longer and a table that was seated after up asks for the food they ordered and was told the kitchen was backed up after 40 minutes of waiting after being told our food would be coming up shortly our food order was wrong and was mildly warm. Our server ended up disappearing and never returning to our table after telling us it would be coming up shortly. Highly recommend not coming been going downhill for some time now. read more

When you see this Denny's, just keep on driving. The restaurant is filthy, the service is painfully slow, and the food is questionable. The table they sat us down to had already been bussed but not cleaned. They gave it a half assed wipe down as we were sitting there. We actually finished cleaning it ourselves. Ordered online. Arrived early, saw my food was there and told one of the waitresses. She said oh, I'll get it for you. Helped a bunch of other people first. Still waited. Asked again... still waited. Finally got my food and it was wrong. They forgot fries on one order and gave me the wrong kind of fries on the other. The sandwich was soggy and falling apart. Burger was cold. I told them I didn't want the food because it was unacceptable. The one waitress Melissa was being rude to all the customers and said you'll just have to wait for the manager. Her idea of customer service is to just ignore the customer. She just rolled her eyes at me. She shouldn't work with people if she can't handle the pressure. She was treating others very bad. Will never eat at this Denny again. They wouldn't tell me when the manager would be back. They won't give me my refund. I will not rest on the matter. read more

Went here late Sunday night, unacknowledged when looked at by woman MANAGER (unsure of her name)...she looked at us 3 times and looked the other way then walked away. THEN waited 30 MINS when there was only 3 seated booths that had 2-3 people that already had their food?! The ONLY server there saw us and said sorry for the wait and seated us when she was just gossiping and making remarks back and forth with the manager here. At one point, the manager was helping us out then immediately left and didn't come back. I heard the server saying SO loud, "what the hell, okay?! I'm trying to help ALL these people out and you just run and sit in the back?!" Literally only 3 tables with 2 people or so at them. Other people were waiting for them on small things like straws or syrup...NOT HARD TO GRAB! They mostly kept running around in circles from the back of the kitchen to the front and yelled at each other a lot. It made everyone extremely uncomfortable. What made me irritated is that they then started to joke around while my tables food was getting cold waiting to be served! The server said to the manager: "Help me out here so you can try to get some tips!! Aha" No, my food came really cold. This is the worst Denny's I've ever been to. The service is bad and the restaurant was so dirty. They tried to seat us at a table that was smothered in crumbs, the seats were wet, and there were extra chairs everywhere in the way. Under new owners... Close down when they want and flat out lie to customers. They tell you that they are renovating when actually they have made all of the staff to quit. This place must be a joke. I thought I was on a tv show. There were only 2 cooks and about 9 waitresses. The waitresses were all hanging out and talking to each other. They didn't care about their customers. The cooks were struggling to keep up with their orders. The restaurant was half empty because there was supposed to be 4 cooks but only 2 showed up. So the hostess was not seating the 40 or so customers that were waiting in the waiting area and walking in and leaving because the wait was 30 min to 1 hour. I saw an order come out from the kitchen that looked like my order. So I watched it for 20 minutes to see whose it would be. In that 20 minutes only one families order came out. The rest of the customer still waited. After that 20 minutes, one of the waitresses saw that order and asked the cooks to put it in a box to go (I had ordered to go because is was late for work). She then put the box in a bag and have it to me. I opened the bag and box in front of her and everyone else waiting and all the waitresses and felt the turkey meat....not good at all. I was not putting that in my mouth. Felt the fries. Horrible. I told her I wanted my money back and I would never return. She called the manager. Manager came out of her office and told the waitress not to worry. It's ok. It's not your fault. I got my money back. But she first offered to replace the food and she would personally go make it herself. I old her I just wanted my money back. If she knew how to cook, why wasn't she helping in the kitchen?!?! Waited 20 minutes to be sat. Then waited 20 minutes to be acknowledged. No drinks or place settings while we waited. Once our waiter came by and acknowledged us he promptly took the order of the table who came after us. I don't expect much from a Denny's but this was bad. read more

The bacon in the omelet was not cooked, I sent it back, got eggs and hashbrowns with bacon separate. The bacon was stone cold and greasy from sitting on the grill. If you get your food in two minutes probably the cook doesn't give a shit or needs some training. read more

A good place to eat if you're not gluten intolerant. Not really much for me to eat here but eggs, sausages, hashbrowns, and bacon. The omelets are okay. This place is pretty casual and the employees are kind. It's near a lot of hotels that aren't expensive. Plates, tables and silverware are clean. Didn't wait a long time for food. We were seated in a dark corner when there were other tables availabe in more bright places. I thought that was kinda weird. read more

Hate to give a 1 start review. To be honest this is for the service not the food since I didn't get to try the food. Walked in party of 2 waited like 20 minutes which understood. We were taken in and another party after us of 4 was take then another party after. The lady waterers went the table of four before us. So we thought may be the table devised for waiters then she skipped us and went to the other table. Then she cane to us. That's when I decided to leave. Well, maybe it's just the late staff, or I just got in from a long flight, or there was a cluster of teens making a mess of a situation, but this wasn't the best experience I've had at a Denny's. The staff wasn't rude but wasn't very friendly either. It was as if they were distracted or had something better to do. The food was mediocre but some orders didn't arrive at the same time. Worst service possible! I went with my coworkers, and it took them an hour to seat us and the place was almost empty. When we got to the table the two men got our drinks pretty fast, but then it took 39 minutes for someone to get our order, and then it took about another hour to get cold food(which meant that they had it sitting there for a long time) . We asked for the check and that took another 30 minutes which was ridiculous. When we got there the hostess was very chipper and got us seated right away. The waitress did not have the same enthusiasm, but she was nice. She took our orders right away and got our food to us pretty quickly. I ordered the french toast with over easy eggs and hash browns with a side of pancake puppies. The french toast was a little dry and probably wouldn't have been good if I didn't smother it in syrup. I discovered pancake puppies!! They are delicious! They are blueberry and white chocolate chip pancakes rolled into a ball and deep friend and served with syrup. It reminded me of a funnel cake. You can get 6 of them for 2 dollars. Denny's always has pretty cheap prices, but sometimes you get what you pay for. read more
