Came just after the breakfast rush on a Sunday and there was only a 10 minute wait. We were quickly greeted by our server,Samira. The services by Samira was the best I've had, she was extremely knowledgeable with the menu. She checked in the table and made sure everything came out correctly. There were only two servers and barely anyone in the restaurant, yet it took about 20 minutes before anyone came to take our order. After that, we waited another 35 minutes for our food. What made the experience even more frustrating was seeing our food sitting there while neither server bothered to bring it to our table. Dennys was fine. We stopped by here on a drive. It had been years since I had visited the Gilroy location. Went on a Friday Night. They were busy. The 2 wait staff were working hard, but they probably could use one or more hands, so that our waiter could check in with us sooner. All the food was cooked well. So no issues there. When I arrived, the cashier was handling a large walk-in order and I was not able to get my prepaid order in a reasonable amount of time. Because of the delay, I had to cancel my order and leave without food. The purpose of ordering and paying online is convenience and faster pickup. If prepaid orders are not prioritized or ready when customers arrive, it defeats the purpose of using the online ordering system. read more

If you enjoy sitting in silence, staring at sticky tables, and wondering if you've suddenly become invisible, this is the place for you. We were seated, given menus, and then treated to 25 minutes of absolutely nothing. No water, no greeting, not even the fake "I'll be right with you." There were only four other tables in the entire restaurant, yet the staff acted like serving anyone was a rare and dangerous concept. They'd peek out from the back, look around like deer in headlights, then vanish again. No one had food. Not one single table. And this isn't a rare fluke. This is just how this place operates. It's almost impressive how consistent they are at being terrible. The Morgan Hill Denny's could run circles around this place with half the staff and twice the customers. If you value your time, your patience, or your sanity, skip this disaster entirely and go to the Morgan Hill location where they actually serve customers instead of pretending they don't exist. read more

Out of all the Denny's near I loved this one something about the pancakes is way better than any other place I go to. But this past weekend I went with my parents and son they got served first they ate and they were practically almost done. We kept asking the waiter where was my food he kept saying "let me go check on that" asked 3 times and nothing he brought it out when everyone was done eating. I refused the food and walked out because that wasn't right. I didn't want to be that person but I didn't even want to eat anymore because of how frustrated I was. This was horrendous the steak was still mooing at me I felt very sick after since they told me it was safe to eat but it wasn't i don't recommend ordering steak here at all. I feel like they should refund my money but they were too busy to complain I recommend if you want a steak go to a steak house. Yikes, what a disappointment! Stopped in there Friday, 1/9/26, just before 1 pm. The restaurant had a waiting line with about 6 people. Almost all the seats were open but they did not have enough staff to take care of their customers. I wanted to order, to-go, 2 grilled cheese sandwiches with a slice of tomato which I had had before. I finally ended up at the register and it seemed like no one could take a second to place the order and it took 3 impatient, busy people to code it in. I was still hopeful and left a tip when the charge went through. When it came it was one greasy, grilled cheese with a limp slice of bacon on it and about 10 greasy onion rings. It was not very good and the milkshake was almost tasteless. Including the tip, it came to $26. They desperately need to hire some help. read more

My husband and I recently dined at Denny's in Gilroy, CA for the first time and had mixed feelings about the experience. I ordered a sandwich that was good, although the presentation wasn't that great. What I was disappointed with, were the fries; the serving size was small, and it seemed like they were running low on them. Additionally, the ranch sauce was tasteless, which was a letdown. My husband ordered the steak dinner with rice pilaf and broccoli. While the sides were good, the steak itself was tough and lacked seasoning, making it less enjoyable than we had hoped. On a positive note, the service was excellent. The servers were attentive and accommodating, which made our visit more pleasant. However, considering the overall experience and the prices, I think we'll be heading to Black Bear Diner on the other side of the overpass next time. Denny's, there's definitely room for improvement. I will never go back to this location. read more

I have been to this restaurant a number of times since moving back to Gilroy a couple years back. The service is often hit or miss especially later in the evening...However tonight I went in late and Samantha was my waitress. She was new and after observing her I asked her if she had waitressed before ~ she said it was her first job~ I was immediately impressed! Samantha was pleasant and personable, efficient and professional. I was noted her attention to detail and her dedication to myself and other customers. I have worked in the food industry as a waitress as well as a manager and now work in the counseling field. Hence, I am usually a bit of a stickler for service...Samantha is great! I will be back to Denny's soon and will request her! Denny's is lucky to have her! I wished more of the servers there were like her ~ the late evening servers have proved to be challenging at times~ I hope Samantha stays on! Great work! read more
