We came here around dinner and the place was nearly empty... that gave me pause and I should have trusted those instincts. Walking in my first thought was the place smells like the 80s, maybe I'm crazy but I swear I can smell the cigarette smoke in here. Walking to the booth I stepped in a sticky spot and she almost slipped on a slick spot... Wow. Service was friendly enough but slow and not knowledgeable at all. So I got a caramel cold brew and this thing was fire! I'll give them that at least. But that is where the good part of this meal begins and ends. I got a sampler that came with a choice of 3 options and went for sliders, boneless chicken wings, and onion rings. She was craving the tenders and fries, it was the whole reason we came. My burgers were basically inedible. I choked down one but it was dry and just plain bad. The wings were just okay. The rings were hard and flavorless. I was starving but still ate very little. Her situation was the same. Hard and dry tenders with seemingly old fries. Even the sauces tasted off. Paying, they asked if I wanted to round up for charity. When I asked what charity the girl thought hard for a few seconds and then said "kids with cancer?" When I said sure, they wanted me to round up more than the change which wasn't really what I thought I'd agreed to. I'm still not really sure any of that was legitimate... My stomach was upset almost immediately after leaving and it didn't really recover for a few days. How does this place survive so close to the mall? There are so many places to eat near here. I had a senior discount that they checked off everytime I purchased a meal. They changed managers and they wouldn't check off my last check on that card! I would then get a free meal, of course! Terrible don't try the only good thing was there bacon jam. the bacon was crispy and good but the tomatoes were nasty it made the blt sandwiches taste off the milk shakes were good though. The customer service was bad we had to wait 30 minutes for our food to get done. The ceiling was leaking on top of the table and it was really cold they had no temperature control. Visiting Gurnee at the great wolf lodge my party of 7 decided to grab Denny's for breakfast and I really wish we would of drove the extra few minutes to IHOP, I'm sure we would of had a better experience. They offered no vegetarian omelette, which is whatever except she told me we could get the meat omelette and just take the meat off (so cheese and like 3 veggies) cool so I'm like Will it be cheaper since I'm not getting the meat or would it still be $12 she said the price wouldn't change. So obviously I wasn't ordering it. 7 people seems like a lot right these kids barely got food and it took well over 30mins to get our food Atleast 2 people that came in after us ate first. The waiter wasn't friendly it just overall wasn't a good experience. Definitely wouldn't go back and definitely wouldn't recommend. read more

Waitress was really nice at first. But then---Food was left sitting in the window for five minutes. Cook rang the pick up bell two times. She has been taking payment at the register and didn't wash her hands before serving (new precautions in place for covid-19?) Asked for lightly cooked pancakes. Pancakes were dark. She did offer to replace. I hate waste. If that's what they wanted to serve that's what I'll take. Bacon wasn't brought to the table. Had to go find it. Waitress told the cook the pancakes weren't right and then proceeded to say loudly to the cook where everyone could hear "they are out there picking them apart". Man at the next table was laughing. Later she returned and argued about it. Horrible experience. Won't return to this location. The manager did apologize for the waitress behavior when she wouldn't refill the drinks. We came in @ 7:30 pm. My husband had a double burger, cheese & caramelized onions and fries. It was hot and so delicious. I ordered a two egg cheese omelette, hash browns and English muffin. I was pleasantly surprised when the waitress delivered my fluffy cheese omelette with crispy hash browns. It was hot and so very good. I only wish is to have the staff speak less Spanish, or speak softly. The staff so very loudly in the waitress service area and kitchen. It was spoken constantly and very loud. This place is getting worse each time we visit, first they have a limited supply of French vanilla creamer, second they are completely out of jelly and now completely out of French vanilla creamer. our waitress was nice and went to other tables to find leftover french vanilla creamer and jelly because there was none in the back. I'm rating 5stars only for my server I took my family to Dennys a few days ago and we had an excellent experience with our server (jasmine) she is great at what she does and very polite and respectful she's excellent in my book. my husband and I will always and continue to request for her as our server. but please work harder and train your kitchen cooks better due to the fact that they gave us nachos with no cheese, bacon as hard as a rock and the cheese in my husbands omelette wasn't melted or the cheese in our cheese sticks. kitchen staff is very disappointing! read more
