I had a gift card that someone gave me for Christmas, so I thought I would use it to treat my parents out for breakfast. I had the Lumberjack Slam, which had two buttermilk pancakes, ham, bacon, sausage links and two eggs sunny-side up with a side of whole wheat bread. I mostly have breakfast at the Marlin Bar, and the food there is pretty much the same as the food here at Denny's. The eggs were not runny or hard, and the bacon strips did not taste chewy, which is how I mostly like my sunny-side up eggs. The sausage links were perfect, and the pancakes tasted soft and fluffy. My coffee, however... was nothing to write home about, since I had my first coffee at Starbucks before we came here. This Denny's is clean and updated, "modernized". Meanwhile, their service staff are pleasant, sweet and genuine. I took my 10 year old and 12 year old children here for the first time, as it was my son's 11th birthday and he had never experienced a "free breakfast" meal! Neither had my daughter and both had never been to Denny's! I walked in and host "Dean" walked us to our table. Upon sitting, "Waitress Tanya" asked what we would like to drink. She was efficient, pleasant, genuine and conversational if you spoke with her. She took our picture and was lovely and engaging; it made our first morning experience wonderful for the kids. The food was delicious and affordable! The crowd in the morning was mostly Senior Citizens but if your kids are well-mannered, quiet and pleasant, they were too. The first three emails were responded to by their corporate representative. They repeatedly told me that the local dennys would contact me and take care of it. I received nothing them ( dennys 8160 located on beach blvd, Huntington Beach ca) after another 4 emails to Dennys corporate, I have now turned it over to my credit card company. They have now lost a lifetime customer . I am very frustrated. Update, finally they have refunded me. It took a number of emails but now I will consider returning as a customer. I've been a local resident of Huntington Beach for almost 40+ yrs, and never in my life have seen a American Dinner serve such outrageous food prices that has zero quality control for what they charge. I did however notice that this location has been playing the political card for quite sometime just to get a hand put from our local officials such as the PPE. Not one dime has been places towards to fixing up the place. They also catering to hiring employees through third party agencies that hire low paying wages, and except the customer to pay the difference for poor serve. All of this caught my finally attention when recently they have ADDED A .50 cent surcharge for eggs. Not only do two eggs cost $6, they added the surcharge came out to $8, plus tax total too $9.46 for three eggs. This private owner should be ashamed and be AUDITED IMMEDIATELY!! Us Seniors have it hard enough, why let a place like this that doesn't care how hospitality, and zero interest on the loyalty of running a business. #Dennys should be ashamed for allowing this to happen these pass 4 years. Whether I'm dining with my fam after a night out or grabbing a quick to-go order, the people at this Denny's are always so, so sweet. On one occasion, I noticed an item missing from our order when we got home, so I called the restaurant and the manager refunded it to my card right away. Top notch customer service. This Denny's in Huntington Beach has some of the best service ever at a Denny's. They know the menu so well. We came for lunch and decided to have sandwiches. We have never had them at a Denny's. Our server was able to direct us and tell us about all the choices and add ons we could have. We could not have been happier with her help. We each had two different sandwiches and we added avocado to one, had fries with another and soup with a wonderful turkey sandwich. It was all so good. It was served exactly as ordered and was super yummy. The place is clean and there are enough staff to care for everyone. We will come back next time we our in town. read more

A group of us ladies go to Denny's every Wednesday morning after our Weight Watcher meeting. The staff are so used to us now that they set us up before we get there, even though there can be anywhere from 4 to 10 of us depending on our schedule. We get seated in the back room which is more quiet & allows us to talk & socialize. We all pretty much custom order off the menu & it's always delicious & satisfying.
