A group of us ladies go to Denny's every Wednesday morning after our Weight Watcher meeting. The staff are so used to us now that they set us up before we get there, even though there can be anywhere from 4 to 10 of us depending on our schedule. We get seated in the back room which is more quiet & allows us to talk & socialize. We all pretty much custom order off the menu & it's always delicious & satisfying. Our usual server, Santos, never disappoints with his cheerful attitude & magic memory. Danny also serves us with a cheerful attitude & knows what we will need before we know. I never leave reviews, but this is experience was so terrible I have to put out a warning for everyone. Look out for a middle-aged Asian waitress named Lam! I am not the type of person to complain, however I felt personally attacked on 10/30/22. I went in for an evening, ordered tea with a good friend of mine, and after 20 minutes of talking, Lam walks over to us and drops the bill saying "you have to leave because our policy needs us to leave room for other customers". Keep in mind that this diner was empty, there were only 2 other parties in the entire building, we took video footage as well. I was in complete disbelief, but rather than causing a scene, we just left because the atmosphere was just terrible after that interaction. I just ordered from this Denny's a half hour ago via Uber Eats. First, I was tremendously disappointed that they no longer offer their Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. I ended up ordering their Biscuits and Gravy. BAD CHOICE. I took one bite, and had to throw the rest away, it was just the worst I've ever had by a long shot. Basically, they add some kind of SMOKE FLAVORING to it. Ugh. Biscuits and gravy is a pretty basic item. It's hard to screw up. All you need is a biscuit and a white gravy with tiny sausage pieces. If something is not broken, DON'T FIX IT. My son ordered the slam burger -- it needed more egg, you could barely taste the egg. His girlfriend ordered the salmon, and it was too bland -- it just didn't taste anything like salmon. She only ate half before she threw the rest away. the gm never called me. I had no idea this kind of crap goes on. I went online Saturday morning bc I was craving Dennys pancakes and I placed my order online at dennys website. I then got a text message that said 'your dasher delivery info is right here to get the details of your order from your driver'. I'm a senior and just thought that's who Dennys chooses for my delivery. it said it would be delivered at 8:45 am. at 8:58 am I got a text that said my driver reported that they handed me my order. WHAT? I never got a delivery or a call from my driver at all yet he handed me my order? NOPE. I call Dennys and they say once its picked up and leaves here it's no longer their issue. i never called DoorDash. what ever was set up was automatically done by Dennys at the Dennys website. I never asked for door dash. I just wanted my food. Dennys refused to reimburse me for it OR give me a new order without me paying for another again!! I don't get it. they just hand my order to some guy off the street without asking for his ID or anything? my son told me later that day I was just scammed?!?!? this pisses me off that I lost out on a $35 order to feed some asshole scammer? has anyone else had this happen? read more

I went to Denny's with some friends last night. The meal received a 5 or 6 out of 10. Although I didn't like our waitress's service, when it came time to pay for my food, I asked if it was okay if I paid with cash first, then a card. She goes on to state, "No. Why would you do that? That's stupid." I'll give her the benefit of the doubt because it was late at night and we were a party of 16, but her attitude was unnecessary. I requested to pay with cash and card because that's all I was able to do at the time. I would have expected her to be more apologetic after spilling water on my friend. I haven't been to a Denny's in years. They always just seemed mediocre even when it came to breakfast plates. Over the years, it has just been easier to go to other breakfast joints than coming to them. Bang for your buck. However, my recent return has presently surprised me. They are in with the times and have revamped their menus to stay in competition with all the similar level eateries. I am speaking about their gourmet burger and chicken sandwich options. I ordered the chicken sandwich burger for lunch with a coworker and it was really good. It came with a side of fries which were interestingly cut but delicious. I ordered the classic vegetarian omelette with fruit and whole wheat toast, black coffee, and it was all perfect. Came here last Monday for breakfast. They had a construction site in the kitchen/beverage area with the sink fully opened with all the gunk and mold inside like I was watching "Kitchen Nightmare" in action without any advance notice. I spoke to the owner who refused to do anything to for my experience like send me a 10% off coupon for my next visit or free desert or something good for the extreme rude service from their Latina server and putting up with the noises from their jackhammer and drill . He said it's a 24/7 Denny's so he can't he has to do this repair when I was there in the morning. I told him close business for a few hours during the night time like from 10 pm to 6 AM. Then open again at 6. Nope we can't do. So he is choosing money over a customer's safety and health as a business owner. I immediately went to the closest location for breakfast showed these picture to the Fountain Valley location on Brookhurst my server's jaw dropped. After we got inside, given menus and deciding what to eat, he was still complaining that the patty melts weren't going to good. Can't believe how downhill Denny's has become. I came in today craving French toast and it was the worst French toast I've ever had... it was not the best best bread choice to use to make French toast basically using Texas Toast for it and it tasted burnt and more on the salty side than sweet. I haven't stepped foot in a ihop in over 10 years because I've been a die hard fan for Denny's but their French toast is way better and now I think I'm going to trade teams. My friend wanted a veggie burger and he picked off the lettuce because it had dark spots... didn't look fresh or appetizing. I was also annoyed that the lady who took our order didn't write down our order. I told her I wanted sausage with my grand slam and was given bacon. I waited for someone to ask me if they could get me anything, I would have asked to trade for sausage but they took so long to get to me when the diner was pretty empty that I felt like I had to just settle with what they gave me. I wanted hot sauce for my eggs too but ended up eating it plain. The place seemed very clean inside and the service was not rude which is why I'm going to not give it just 1 star but I hope they step it up. So I thought I'd try the online app out and I was pleasantly surprised that they- 1. Had delivery drivers since Uber eats listed as pickup only(I had been drinking and wasn't driving). 2. They actually beat the projected time by half.(quoted 45+ min, got it in 20) 3. Food was actually hot and not soggy!! I had the moons over my happy with bacon and avocado, with cheesy hashbrown.
