Staff is not very friendly, including manager. Went there today with my daughter for dinner because of an email they sent me to get a free beyond burger with drink purchase and they said they sold out of them in the morning. Got my food with no silverware the waitress spent our entire meal in the kitchen and you could hear the workers talking instead of checking on the customers and making sure everything is ok I get it's late and short staff but someone should be checking on the customers I'm surprised no one walked out without paying there check. It has been awhile since I have had a slammed breakfast but was drawn in by the super slam 5.99 deal and remembering I had yet to break my nightly fast (breakfast) I decided to come in. Upon entry I was immediately met with an odorous aroma of ammonia. Baffling and almost overwhelmingly so was the smell. I was seated immediately and following my drink order I made way to the bathroom which was within 15ft of my table. Generally I would request alternative seating. To my surprise the restroom facilities were clean and honestly smelled better. It was underwhelming to say the least. My food was served within 10 minutes of ordering and satiating. My beverage was never refilled unfortunately and there was a public dispute between servers to whom I was being billed. I would suggest to-go orders to avoid upsetting odor and mediocre service. We come here once in a while for breakfast. I can honestly say we never had a bad waitress and that is pretty amazing in this day and age. The food is good, just your regular American diner breakfast, but what I do like a lot is that there are leaner/healthier options to be had here. Once order was taken we weren't checked on. We had to ask for silverware, when we did get it mine didn't have a fork in it and I made the staff aware of it but l never got a fork. My wife got a dirty spoon when we mentioned it nothing was done it was ignored. Menu said saluted vegetables they were steamed. I'm Hispanic and I was given a Spanish menu without asking for it. Although the item names were in English, the descriptions were in Spanish and it took a good 5 minutes for for someone to come over so that I could switch the menu. At that time I asked for my drink and for a minute to read the menu. Another 5 minutes later she asked for my order but I had not got my drink and the waitress rolled her eyes when I brought that up(no apology). I expect hot food when I eat at a Denny's Restaurant. This was not what my wife and I got at this location. My wife ordered two eggs, oatmeal, and four strips of turkey bacon. The oatmeal was so cold it could not melt the butter the server brought. It also had a water ring that she had to stir in with the oatmeal to make it slightly edible. The eggs and bacon were so cold, you could of eaten it with your hands without the fear of burning them. I ordered the Grand Slamwich. When it came out, it was so cold that the cheese was not close to be melted and gooey like the picture in the menu. This came with hash browns that should have been called hash whites. They were so undercooked I crunched raw potatoes in the middle. If you want hot food, avoid this location. Go to Waco or Austin, but do not waste your time coming to Killeen. read more

If I could give 10, I would give 11 STARS! From the second my son and I walked in to when we walked out, the experience was amazing. Food came out hot and ready within 5 minutes. The waitress(s) were personable and genuine. The cook came out to make sure guests were happy. Management were engaged and smiling. Everyone just looked and acted HAPPY to SERVE! I was warned about eating here based on Word of mouth, but upon sitting down, we were impressed on the improvements. HOWEVER. We sat at our table for more than five minutes, no greeting, no acknowledgement. When the server did come over, no apologies for our wait. Anything we asked for, we never received. No apologies. Let me add, it wasn't that busy. I watched other servers in the section and other tables being greeted. We werent being needy, just asking for table settings to be refilled. Silverware and sweetener. Simple. Then our food came out, and she brought the wrong food from another table, which arrived after us. Now that she brought the correct food, she got one of the orders wrong. Sigh. So. I'm starting my review for this place. When I was a kid, I grew up on Denny's thanks to my grandparents. I didn't live in Texas, but I missed it so I thought we would try it out. It's a Sunday so we knew places around were busy. Denny was busy. We were not greeted, instead we were asked if we were ready to cash out. Clearly we were standing in the wrong spot. Not a problem as we finally found someone to get our names to be seated. She motioned is to follow which we did only to see her sit someone else. (Wow) We did figure it was a bit soon to be seated anyways so it was weird when she motioned us to follow her. When we did sit down the booth or area smelled bad. Like urine bad. I'm not making this up, and other customers seemed to have the same issue, but how could it be? Menus were on the floor and it looks like crayons and food as well. The server/waitress was Jasmine (I think), but she had no name tag. She did seemed rushed (understandable) plus it was Sunday. She got our drinks (2 coffees) but we had to get new menus since it was in Spanish. I'm sure this was a mistake and not because I look Spanish. (I do look pretty white lol). I asked her for a spoon when she brought the coffee, but she seemed to space and forget it. I do understand that it was Sunday, she was busy trying to please all of her tables. I did have to remind her a few times before getting my spoon. I ended up trying to stir it myself cuz we had no utensils, but my wife said you can hear them rolling them and to relax, so I did. You could overhear other customers dissatisfied with their service and sending food back, which worries myself upon getting my food. The food was descent, a bit rushed, but understandable. They didn't seem shorthand's, but perhaps a bit unprepared. I will add while Jasmine did seem stressed/rushed, she did manage to keep calm, and kept moving forward dealing with whatever tossed her way. I want to try this place again in the future, when they are not as busy, more prepared and cleaner then what I witnessed. I'm too afraid to see the restrooms then risk it based on what I see around my table. For now it's 2 stars. Everything I written here is just based on what I have seen today. Went here today and had 3 waitresses pass by us and did not even acknowledge our presence. Once we were seated we were not even spoken to, other than the waitress that seated us. Finally after 10 minutes of waiting for a waitress we got up and left. The restaurant had about half a dozen tables and 4-5 waitresses. Obviously they were not that busy. Even saw one waitress walk by in socks. As we left we addressed the manager of our issues and she told us that our waitress was on her break. I believe we are done giving this place "another chance". No mold or urine smell, just straight up bleach smell. Having syrup and hotsauce slammed onto the table even before we ordered (and we did not ask for either condiment) as the too-busy waitress rushed past is flat out RUDE. Managers, have a meeting and remind your staff that customers are people too and a little kindness usually results in a bigger tip... Coffee is almost always burnt tasting. Food is hit or miss. Some visits it has been phenomenal, while other visits it has been atrocious. Sometimes a great waitperson, other times just husband-hunter. The silverware is always spotty, but nobody cares what the dog eats out of anyway... It isn't uncommon for us to leave more in tip than the amount of the bill, but that's when they EARN it. A tip is a "thank you", not a requirement! You don't get it just cuz you threw some plates at us... Nutshell: Be good to the customer, the customer will be good to you. read more
