Oh Denny's, what happened to your homey feel and good breakfast? Our experience at other Denny's locations were always subpar but this location is by far the worst. Upon entering we were somewhat greeted by a woman counting cash by the register. We awkwardly stood there for about 5 minutes waiting to be seated. I would have been fine seating ourselves but oh well. That should have been our warning sign because everything went downhill after. 1. We were seated on a dirty table. We moved booths after realizing this. 2. Utensils and napkins were dirty. I had to grab another utensil at a different table. 3. My S/O ordered the grandslamwich and our waitress dropped a piece of bread. No biggie, she offered to replace the sliced bread... Until she came back with a whole piece with a ham just slapped on there. Lazy much? 4. S/O received the wrong order. He asked to get fries instead of hash browns. After she repeated our order twice, I figured there was an understanding that our order will come out right. Wrong! He still got hash browns. When I'm traveling I always end up at a Denny's. Not sure why. It makes me feel like I'm at home. Endless coffee and diner ambiance. Duh. Anyway, this one in Lodi is built into a truck stop. I don't think I've ever had nicer wait staff. From the hostess to the server to the busser - so very nice. Splurged and had the cinnamon pancake and ermegherd amazing. Delicious. Couldn't finish them. It was like breakfast and dessert at 9:30pm. Felt bad for my server: it was just her and she had about 5 people at the bar and 7 tables plus me. Probably why the wait time to get my coffee refilled was a little long. Ehh that's okay. read more

2.5 stars Ordered to go & when I got there the order was ready as stated in email. Left & had to go back in because they forgot my hot chocolate. I explained to the girl I forgot I ordered hot chocolate & if I could get it. With an attitude she went to make the hot chocolate with her back turned away from me. After assuming she was finished and was going to place the lid on it. She takes my cup into the back of the kitchen. Um I'm sorry but this is sketchy af. Honestly I didnt even wanna drink it. $3 down the drain. Unquestionably the BEST service you will ever get! I've been stopping by here for the past 3years. The servers are ALL friendly, very professional, conscientious & hard working. I've worked in the restaurant business for about 20 years & can assess my prospective dining experience within about 30 seconds of walking in the door. EACH of these waitresses would excel at any restaurant- but Denny's? Yes, that's why this Denny's is the best I've been to. I hate it when I need a drink refill & my server is engrossed with her side work, hanging me out to dry...Not here- Christina even remembers my favorite beverage. Hannah & Marcella are amazing but ALL the girls stay busy and always suggestive sell for upgrades to my menu choices-I like that-a big thumbs up. I left a 5-star review last week and Yelp placed it in the "Not Recommended" review section. Really? I've eaten at this Denny's multiple times and have been happy with my food and the service. I will agree with some of the other reviews that they seem understaffed at times, but there are a lot of tables for only two waitresses. We ate there last night 10/2/2019 around 10pm. Everything started out ok. When we got our food we had little black bugs flying all over us and our food. We told the waitress and she blamed it on construction. 3 of us couldn't finish are food because of it. We also told the cashier and she said they could not do anything about I replied that she should tell the customers before they sit down to eat. Very disappointed in the reaction of the staff..we wont be going back to this Denny's..poor management and customer service. read more

Been here on a number occasions in the past few year. Good food. Good service. Clean restaurant.

We have been here a few times and let me give you an overall review of those trips. We generally come here to stop for gas and get something to eat. We know we can choose many different place to get us back on the road fast, but we do enjoy a nice relaxing sit down meal. This Denny's has solved that problem for us, they are fast and it is a sit down meal. Each time we have come to this location, the staff has been on top of their game. Each member including the managers have been available to us and you can see them helping each other to make the best service possible. The waiter and waitress member have done a fantastic job, our drinks are out fast the food is good and the service has been outstanding. We do continue to stop at this location with and without the family (5 people), and we have enjoyed out trip each time. The location is clean and well maintained. The restrooms are always clean here, and you can always find somebody cleaning something in the restroom each time. The table are not sticky and in good condition. We do look forward to stop by each time we are going to and from the central valley area. read more

Been here three times now, terrible service each time. We go in on our way home from stockton after watching hockey. I don't think we will stop in any longer. Are last time going in was last night, they sat us at a table and for 15mins not one server came over to get drinks. Introduce themselves etc. We just got up in left. Always Poor Service and Dirty Restaurant. We frequently stop at Denny's restaurants when we travel. This is by far one of the worst Dennys. We have experienced awful service the last several times we have stopped. The place is always dirty, food stuck onto the table top and floors littered with food looking as if they haven't been mopped in years. There is no one working here that seems to care. It wasn't just us because I overheard two tables near us talking about the horrible service. I can only imagine how filthy the kitchen must be given the filth in the dining area. 50 minute wait from arriving and getting our food! It was one of those "I can do one thing at a time type of crew!" We asked for children's menus from one waitress who decides to take someone else's order(he got here after we did), then proceed to sweep the floors, go back and talk to another customer who waa clearly a regular trucker that comes through!! Then a 2nd waitress decided to pick up our table, brought us the children's menus and we asked if we could place our order. She replied she needed to finish our drink order first! We waited another 7 minutes for her to return to take our order. When we finally receive our food it ALL arrives cold! I ordered the baked salmon which looked like it sat on the parking lot black top! It was dry and black at the bottom of it. Keep in mind it was 3 pm when we arrived and there wasn't a dinner crowd here YET!!! Multi-tasking is not there with this crew! Maybe it was just this crew! Not sure if we'll be back! I got the $4 value slam, wife got the build your own chicken wraps. IMO this dennys should be the benchmark for the rest out there. The whole value slam was perfect. Fluffy pancakes, eggs exactly how i requested, and even the damn syrup dispenser was so clean it looked brand new! Wife loved her chicken wraps, no complaints. She has been waiting for a refill but right after we got here the place literally exploded with customers and theres only 2 waitresses so they keep the 5 star read more

DO NOT EAT HERE. Food was awful. Ordered two skillets, they forgot half of the vegetables it was supposed to come with. It was WAY over cooked and just plain disgusting. My husband and I have eaten here twice in the past 4 months, the second time this week. We've been served by the same waitress Kathleen both times. Husband ordered meatloaf and I ordered the haddock dinner. Both dinners were excellent and we ate every bite. Ordered the apple crisp for dessert, it's a large serving and we split it. WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECIEVED. I've been a waitress for 10 years. I've been a restaurant floor manager, never in my life have I ever recieved such poor service from a restaurant. We were sitting IN FRONT of the waitress station at the bar in hopes of getting served quicker. A waitress got our drinks, and never returned. We sat and watched as countless waitresses passed by, made eye contact and didn't even bother to ask if we needed help. We sat for 25 MINUTES. I kept telling myself that maybe someone would stop. The restaurant was 50% full, and the waitresses were too busy talking about their CUSTOMERS AT THIER TABLES (gossiping) rather than service us. The manager of the location even walked passed countless times, smiled at me, and kept walking. I shouldn't have to beg to be served. I'm giving you my money, I shouldn't have to beg to have you help me. My boyfriend and I just started a new job, and we haven't had a moment to ourselves in two weeks, we just wanted a little breakfast to celebrate two weeks of insanely stressful work, I left and was in absolute tears. Take your money somewhere else, there's a family owned business (the Avenue Cafe) right down the street, go there and save yourself the headache. I will never return to Denny's. Very good food nice waitress. Right off the freeway. I had chicken sandwich and my husband had club. Wonderfull fries too.

Nope. Never again. Short staffed and the food was bad. The Santa Fe skillet was burnt, the pancakes with eggs and sausages were cold, and the chicken skillet was alright but no sizzle. We waited about five minutes to receive menus, waited a long time for appetizers, and the food came out one by one. I also had dirty utensils. The waitress was nice and appeared overwhelmed. I also did not enjoy hearing one of the waitresses speak poorly of customers who did not enjoy their time there to other customers. It seemed to be a bad night for everyone, but I would rather spend my money elsewhere because we left hungry. read more

If you have an hour to waste and want your food to take that long to be cooked, eat here! Yes, we waited an HOUR between placing our order and receiving our food... Glad we didn't have a 70 year old brittle diabetic (with low blood sugar) and a hungry 6 year old with us...oh wait! We did! (If you read this review and walk into this Denny's to find out there is only one cook, well, that's on you.) Rest assured, there are two very nice waitresses who will try their best to make you comfortable (really, not being sarcastic, they were cool) as well as a female dishwasher who will come serve you drinks even though that's not her job. But know that when the Hostess calls her manager and wants to talk behind your back IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE, she's gonna switch it up and start speaking Spanish... Please. I ain't got time for that. AND PLUS. I am fluent in Spanish. This restaurant should have been closed being short-staffed as they were. And we should have walked right out the door with the other angry customers. Ok I have been to this Denny's twice. Although the staff is very nice, I have to say that both times, it took waaay too long for our food to come out. I mean it's breakfast food, how long does it take? I know that's not the servers fault, but something is up in the kitchen and they need to fix it!
