Bourbon Bacon Burger with Hash Browns
    Rebekah A.

I think this is the 3rd time in the last decade I've been to a Dennys location. It isn't somewhere we go often, but while driving through we decided to stop here for dinner. This location was pretty quiet, clean and the staff was all very friendly. I ordered the bourbon burger, and subbed my fries out for hashbrowns. Because why not? The burger was cooked medium well, and was piled with goodies. The sauce was a little sticky for my preference on a handheld, but luckily I had baby wipes. Mom score. Lol The food was on par with what to expect from a Dennys and overall we had a pleasant experience.

    Staff is great.

Great food. Great service. I always have a wonderful time with the banter from the staff.

I was traveling on Interstate 5 near Lodi, CA and Thornton Rd. "Oh lord, stuck in Lodi again!" Ok, not really stuck... just wanted to make that Creedence Clearwater Revival song reference. Me and my traveling companions stopped on onto the Flying J truck stop for a potty break. We spied the Dennys inside the adjoining building. We were in the mood for a sit down meal before we hit the road again. So we popped on into this Denny's. The place was clean and modern. The decor, lighting fixtures, and wall decorations were all pretty new looking. It was the prettiest looking Denny's I have seen in awhile and I just dined in one a few weeks ago. They had booth, table, or counter seating options. I got the $8.99 endless breakfast special. It was not on the menu, I just saw it on the Yelp app and asked our server. So a pro tip, check out the Yelp app or Dennys website for additional meal discounts & specials. This special had scrambled eggs, pancakes, and hash browns. Each serving is 2 eggs and 2 pancakes with hash browns. The pancakes were huge and fluffy. Golden brown. Buttery goodness with a mesmerizing vanilla scent . Mmmm. The hash browns were grilled with a slight crisp to it. Yum. The coffee was ok. Hey it's a Dennys... you're not getting single origin here. It runs around $3.60 and it's bottomless. Our waitress made sure of that. I never saw the bottom of my mug. She was awesome! Darn I forgot her name. If there was an Olympics for waitressing, she would have medaled. Even though my order was endless, I only ordered one. I normally would have ordered another, I know ya all probably thinking... another!? LOL. But my traveling companions gave me the cross eye. Our waitress said the kitchen was understaffed and warned us after we ordered that the food may take awhile to come out. I appreciated that she warned us and gave us the opportunity to bail right then and there. I noticed some tables took her up on that. We took our chances and stayed. Surprisingly it didn't take long at all.

We came in here at about midnight on a Friday evening. There was one server and one cook. Ofcourse everyone else also wanted Denny's at the same time so there was a bit of a wait. The server did the best she could and really did an excellent job for how much work she had. She was also bussing and cleaning all of the tables. We ordered two nachos, one Oreo shake, and one strawberry pancake puppy. All of the food was fresh and delicious. The nachos and pancake puppies were the perfect temperature. Although the service was a bit rough I rated them 4 stars because it wasn't the servers fault and honestly the world is just understaffed right now. We would come back here without hesitation.

Hit and miss at this place. Today was horrible. If you want to get sick. This is your place. I guess what do you expect from Dennys. Rotten salad and odd colored cucumbers. Told the waitress and her reply was I could get you more? Bring Imodium A.D.

After visiting this Denny's it is safe to say we will not be returning. Even if I'm starving to death I would rather go into the flying saying and purchase a bag of chips then sit down to a meal at this place. Due to covid 19, all businesses, especially restaurants, are required to sanitize after each customer. I watch them "sanitize" my table. They didn't bother with the seats. Go figure. She then picked up the things that were on the table prior to sanitizing and just place them back down. After sitting down she brought over utensils with napkins wrapped around them. I think up the utensils because the table was still wet from whatever they used to wipe it with. Looking at the napkin there was a disgusting looking yellow film. The you attach to this you will show you what they were using God only knows what it was. It was sticky and smelled bad. The rag been used on many tables without being cleaned or changed. When I brought this to her attention and asked for different utensils because the napkins were covered in yellow film, she grabbed the utensils, rolled her eyes and walked away. She came back with new utensils and tossed them on the table, yes... tossed. The food was standard Denny's food, however 5 onion rings... come on people. Unfortunately the waitresses were too busy talking about their shift, their feet and what was on her toes... gross! Not to mention their personal lives to really take care of the consumer. I don't need to hear your man troubles "Karen". So again, no thank you... not returning.

$8.00 Value Menu- Grand Slam Slugger

I pulled off I-5 to eat at Country Market, but found Denny's here instead. The hostess, Linda, informed us that Denny's took over two years ago. This seems to have been a blessing as Its predecessor wasn't making the grade. Linda was very friendly, energetic and seemed genuinely happy to be working here. You could sense the pride in her upbeat attitude. Amy was our server. She was helpful, happy and friendly. I couldn't help but notice the lisp in her voice, but then noticed that it was probably due to her pierced tongue. We ordered the Super Bird and the Grand Slam Slugger. When I was just a wee lad, I remember ordering the Super Bird all the time. We ordered it today for nostalgic reasons, only to be disappointed by the soggy bottom pieces of bread. I didn't remember it like that. My SLAM was ordinary probably because it was on the Value menu. The portions were smallish and I would most likely order two in the future to satisfy my tummy. Good thing I had that soggy Super Bird as backup. Overall the experience was 3-Star due to the staff.

The "double" pattied burgers is just one patty split into two at this location. Quite the shenanigans here.

It was really flavorful and the salsa on the side was a good addition to each bite. I did try my friends' choices. The chicken fried chicken was a little lackluster in flavor and the Chilaquiles was on the saucy side. They were OK, but if I were to come back, I would stick with the breakfast burrito. Would definitely come again!

It's contemporary and the furnishings are quite comfortable. It's the type of place you can settle in and have a casual meal without feeling rushed. Prices are high yet the quality is excellent. For the first evening at the bar we settled into a high top table. You can sit at the bar, lounge type seating or outdoors on a pleasantly shaded patio. They had an expanded bar bites menu as the main restaurant is closed on Wednesdays... most of it quite enticing. We opted for cocktails to start and I chose a specialty Date Maple Old Fashioned. It was really good with a large ice ball to chill it. For bar bites we shared the pork belly sandwiches (small, delicious but messy to eat), the sausage skewers (amazing!) and crab cups (refreshingly light and easy to eat). After cocktails we had glasses of a light white wine, made with Santorini Greek grapes. For the next meal in the dining room the place was a buzz with activity but conversation was easy without a lot of excessive noise. It's intimate and the room is quite pleasant for a gourmet meal. We started with cocktails (same Old Fashioned) and shared the grilled Brussels Sprouts which were plentiful and ever so delicious. They were slightly over grilled for my taste yet it didn't distract from me enjoying them. We got bread which was a baguette with butter and the consistency perfect for a French style loaf. For my entree I debated between the scallops and the pork chop and went with the chop. I was quite pleased as the chop came in thick slices and drizzled with a tarragon mustard reduction sauce. It was amazing, tender, juicy and at 22oz I couldn't finish it all. It came with a tasty apple sauce and grilled seared cabbage. Absolutely delicious. Ed, celebrating a birthday, had steak which came with a huge bowl of mashed potatoes which I tasted. Oh my gosh, the creamiest potatoes ever! For dessert we shared the cheese plate, a really great way to end the meal, with glasses of a twany port. All of the cheeses from a brie to a hard cheese were top quality. Service both times was very attentive, professional yet personable. We were well cared for and everything went smoothly. It's expensive yet the experience and value is worth visiting. The food was ok, its was good , it was very expensive, I think I expected more from the flavors. We started with lemonade, it was delicious! The bread was ok , really hard crust with a soft inside, I would have appreciated some oil and vinegar for the bread. For an appetizer we ordered an octopus salad , the octopus was good, not over the top . We also ordered a dozen oysters they were underwhelming, not sure what was on them but I asked for nothing on them . The greens were slightly wilting, it was ok . I ordered the bay scallops they were good , the purée that came with it was ok. We also ordered the smashed potatoes, they were underwhelming but ok . My Neice ordered a salad and it seemed just ok , she liked it , not super crisp. She also ordered fries , they were good . Over all our experience was just ok , it must be a status thing when you say you went to the Americana House , it was just ok and at 125.00 per person we expected higher quality. The horseradish was outstanding. The ambience was a great experience, not sure I would recommend here , the quality does not match the price . Desert was good , coffee was good

Personally, I don't like big, corporate-backed venues like Denny's & IHOP, but since this place in Lodi got good reviews, I thought I would give it a try. But again, since it was a big-name restaurant, my expectations were low. PROS: - First off, excellent service, a well staffed kitchen & dining area. Dining area atmosphere very warm as well, with lots of families enjoying their meals. - Our waiter was Eduardo. A very attentive guy, who brought out our meals less than 10 minutes from time of order. GIVE THIS GUY A RAISE! - Did the, "Build your own Breakfast" with steak, eggs & pancakes. The pancakes were excellent... golden brown, not burnt, and large & fluffy. These guys know how to make classic pancakes !!! - Ordered orange juice. IT WAS DELICIOUS. I was expecting some watery, sugary juice substitute, but this was REAL ORANGE JUICE. (Minute Maid) CONS: - The steak was quiet, "Meh". Sure, it just a standard portion of a, "Build your own B'fast" meal, but the steak itself was so unimpressive, like it came from one of those microwave steaks at Walmart. - I understand that eggs are expensive nowadays, but I ordered three (3) eggs, but they were so small, that it felt like eating just two eggs. CONCLUSION: Great restaurant with great vibes. Just wish that the steak & eggs portion of my breakfast were bigger. The pancake portion was just fine. Will go there again and give them the chance to earn five stars from me.

It was early afternoon and not busy at all, so we were seated right away. I ordered the Chicken Caesar Melt with a side of fruit, while my husband went with the tri-tip dip and fries. The Chicken Caesar Melt came with grilled chicken breast, Caesar dressing, lettuce, tomato, and Swiss and jack cheeses on sourdough bread grilled with a Parmesan crust. It was delicious--I especially loved the crispy cheese crust. That said, for a Black Bear portion, the chicken was a bit skimpy, and I would've liked just a little more meat. My husband enjoyed his tri-tip dip, which featured seasoned tri-tip on a grilled ciabatta roll served with au jus. The restaurant was pretty quiet during our visit, though we've been here during busier times when it can get quite loud, especially with the dinner crowd. The restaurant is kid-friendly and offers plenty of booth seating, which I prefer over chairs. Customer service can be hit or miss--sometimes we have excellent waitstaff who check in regularly and keep drinks refilled, and other times they disappear once the food is served. Unfortunately, this visit fell into the latter category, as our waitress didn't return until we were ready to pay. Overall, the food is good, there's plenty of seating inside, and a large parking lot outside. It's a solid option for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Service was excellent. Our server, Lacy, was friendly, attentive, and witty - easily one of the best servers we've had in a while. For drinks, I had a local Oak Farm red wine that was excellent. Others in our group had mimosas, which were well received... especially the grapefruit mimosa, which my partner really enjoyed. For food, there were several highlights. My partner had the chicken and waffles and loved it; I tried some and would agree it was very good. Another person in our group ordered the steak breakfast tacos, which came as a set of three. They only ate two, and I had the third and it was delicious and something I would recommend. Another in our group had the eggs Benedict and thought it was excellent. I had the biscuits and gravy with fried eggs. It was okay, but not something I would go out of my way to order again. In terms of value, prices felt consistent with the quality of the food, service, and overall setting. It's not a budget brunch spot, but it feels appropriate for the experience. Overall, it was a really enjoyable Easter brunch with great service, a comfortable and well-designed interior, and several strong menu items. I'd rate it a 4 out of 5, though if half-points were an option, this would land closer to a 4.5. We'd definitely come back.

The restaurant is always great about accommodating a special request. I had requested a thicker cut steak for my dinner about a week before our reservation and it was prepared perfectly! Both were excellent as were the salads and of course the entrees were fantastic. My husband had the King Salmon, perfectly cooked and seasoned very well.
